Greetings everyone! I apologize in advance if this question has been asked before... I tried browsing through, but I dint find a direct answer. I have minimal work experience, just above 1 year. My goal for Australia is to gain a PR. Due to my work experience I'm not qualified for the skilled immigrant route, so I intend to achieve this via the study Visa route (masters). I've come across different information on how if one picks a course of study listed under the Skilled occupation list Australia, there is a better chance to legally integrate into the system (after the study visa expires) and continue living in Australia. On the other hand, I have 1 or 2 friends in Australia saying it's not true o, that once you're done with studies, they kick you out of the country and tell you to apply for PR or whatever from outside Australia. Everything is becoming confusing now, please can someone/people WITH EXPERIENCE enlighten me? Cause Masters is expensive, and the whole idea for me is PR. Does undergoing a masters degree in Australia still count towards staying back or PR, just like Canada? Please don't ignore. Thanks in advance. |

Ugoau:In as much as you are financially bouyant and registered, real estate is not a child's play as a single 3bedroom may cost more than half a million dollar. One more thing is that all transactions will be done electronically which indicates that your tax number will be included to determine how you make such amount of money and even if you are transferring money to an Australian account, overseas tax number will be requested just to make sure that your money is legit. |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Zaddii(m): 1:36pm On Jan 20, 2020 |
bligs:mad ooh.!!! So does that mean it will be difficult to move money from my Nigeria dollar account to an Australia bank account ?? |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by bligs: 1:45pm On Jan 20, 2020 |
Zaddii:That shouldn't be an issue but banks will definitely ask for your overseas tax number if the amount flowing into your account is very much. Anti money laundering law is very tight and this reminds me of a Somali woman that was caught in mid 2018 who want to buy a property that worth $2m with cash, she couldn't genuinely explained how she came about the money and was later find out that she has being extorting the government by establishing a kangaroo child care center over a long period of time, she eventually lost everything to the government. |
