Hi guys.. My Honda accord 2008 has its CEL on. Scanned and got codes pointing to the crankshaft sensor. Car drives smoothly only that it misfires (jerks) like once in 2 months. Whenever this happens, the CEL starts blinking and the car goes into LIMP mode. Electricians here seem clueless about a solution - they only use the scanner to clear the CEL, after which it comes on again. I have changed the crankshaft sensor but the while issue still persists P.S - I also experience hard starting, especially in the mornings Please help guys - issue is driving me nuts. |

adisaaowala: Sensor was replaced but not reset or bad sensor. 1)Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm in P or N, until the radiator fan comes on. 2) Test-drive the vehicle on a level road: Decelerate from 2,500 rpm down to 1,000 rpm with the A/T in 2, or the M/T in 2nd. Repeat step 2 several times. 3)Turn the ignition switch to LOCK. 4)Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait 30 seconds. 1 Like |

adisaaowala: Is it a used sensor? IF YES Problem is still there. The K24Z2/3 is notorious for crankshaft sensor failure. |

hypazmedia: 5w20 conventional. You can use synthetic if you choose but not necessary.

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by radautoworks: 12:42pm On Jan 18, 2020 |
hypazmedia: It's not the brand. You just need to make sure the spec is 5w20. We sell ours for about 10k for the conventional but any brands will do. |
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by radautoworks: 6:21pm On Jan 18, 2020 |

Hello everyone, gurus and fans of Honda in the house. My Honda Civic, 2009 model; the 'D' drive sign on the dashboard has been blinking for a while now. I have thought to take it to my rewire or mechanic upon my next servicing which would be ending of the month. I want to know what the problem could be so I can also have knowledge about it so my rewire or mechanic doesnt profer the wrong solution to it or bill me over something that could be a minor electrical fitting. Thanks ------------------------------------ Immediately after posting this, I decided to do a Google check. This best answers the question; Hi There, The blinking D light indicates that there is a problem with the transmission. This may be something mechanical such as a shift solenoid or possibly some electrical such as a transmission speed sensor. This may also indicate that the transmission fluid may be low as well. I would not recommend driving the vehicle any further until you have this looked at by a qualified mechanic in order to avoid any potential further damage to the transmission. NB: Posted this so it can be of help to anyone who might have similar problem. |
