DandeNumeruno: SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! I said 90% , that's kinda an exaggeration though, the fact is that no war movie depicts up to 70% accuracy. All are facts and fiction mixed together almost at par. If I may ask, how do you know which is fact & which is fiction. Based on what i read on Wikipedia, i strongly disagree that that the movie was more fiction than fact, & I'll rather say they were equals. Facts that concurred with the movie. -Firstly, Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 was what precipitated the entrance of the United States into World War II, before then the US was neutral. -After two hours of bombing, 18 U.S. ships were sunk or damaged, 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed, and 2,403 people were killed... simply put, the totality of what happened at Perl Harbor was 90% perfectly depicted. -The code breakers were key to the attack -From the horses mouth, Retired U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Samuel J. Cox, director of the Naval History and Heritage Command and the Navy's liaison for the film, says the movie is more accurate than 1976's "Midway" starring Charlton Heston and Henry Fonda. Cox ultimately gave the current telling a strong thumbs up......etc America is good, everyone else is bad. Yes for this movie I'll rather cling to that philosophy, so long as the Japs are unwilling to give their own version of the story. |

mekaprime: mr. abduleez1 said it better than I did. most true life story films have more fictions than fact in them. let's just leave it at that. |

alexistaiwo: What is this one even saying. Incoherent use if what technical words. "Technically wrong grammatical correct post" — LMAO What WW I/ II alliance you mixed up? Oga you know Jack sh!t about military weapons or systems. And how do you define or know when someone knows what they claim to know. You claim to be an "expert" . What is your counter point to the one I offered. If you even understand military tactics you would have offered your own views to neutralize mine. Instead you just scream I used Wikipedia. I can debate you any day anytime in terms of military systems. I no see any shite you know. If you don't know about military relations, shut up and learn from the peeps who knows, instead of pretending to belong. "AFRICAN EXPERT" |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by mekaprime: 6:05pm On Jan 24, 2020 |
abduleez1:So with all these knowledge you've just displayed here, you expect those carriers not to be equipped with counter measures, it seems like you have no idea how much a Carrier cost or its destructive nature should it get hit. Bro we are looking at a nuclear armageddon on the sea, the wave length of the blast would probably affect other carriers, we are looking at a full scale ripple effect here . Or do you really think the US would display the full capabilities of their precious carries online for all Dick & Tom to read so as to pin point a weakness, mbanu. |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 6:10pm On Jan 24, 2020 |
In this digital age, there are some discussions best left for offline because anyone can easily use Google to claim knowledgeable while debating online. African experts got me laughing loud. I hope you know where that phrase originated from? (Google can't help you here) abduleez1: |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by abduleez1(m): 6:29pm On Jan 24, 2020 |
mekaprime: Lol, the best Defences a Nuclear Carrier has is it's Military support or weaponry— which are it's Aircrafts (AWACS, FIGHTERS, HELOS), Ships and Submarines. Asides those an aircraft carrier is a sitting DUCK. Those are it's primary defenses. They are massive targets for advanced Hypersonic anti ship missiles to SINK. The best Defense A Carrier has asides those are CIWS (Close In weapons systems) for shooting down missiles. For sea skimming weapons such as advanced anti ships missiles use of CIWS is partially defeated. All weapons producing militaries worldwide don't usually display the true/full capabilities of their advanced weapons publicly. Carrier Battle groups don't stay so close in terms of operations. A single one is an operations headquarters on it's own. And they are independent of one another except in military exercises. Advanced EMP (electromagnetic pulse) systems can disable a whole Destroyer with it's pulses. These military systems all have their weakness, it only takes one who knows such weaknesses and exploit it. |

alexistaiwo: Okay. It goes both ways. Run along scaredy cat. You know NOTHING. Na just to make noise and pass off enlightenment. You claim expertise, why can't you debunk my supposedly "erroneous claim" with a superior one coming from an expert. So much for your WISDOM. Baba dey claim level wey him no Sabi dey think say I be learner. Next time look before you leap. |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 6:54pm On Jan 24, 2020 |
You claim to belong to many woke groups on the internet and seeing that you already have a Wikipedia tab about military equipments opened on your phone over there, it is pointless debating military stuff with you. I asked you where the African Expert tag you so graciously used to described me was coined on the internet. Google cant help you like i said earlier so either you answer my question or close the chapter. abduleez1: |

abduleez1: I've just seen 1917, and it was a masterpiece of filmmaking. Hatoff to Hollywood on that one. I'm gonna watch midway now, seeing as they are the same Genre, Fingers crossed. It better be good. The critics are not always right. 1 Like |

alexistaiwo: Lol, see this unenlightened OLD MAN. Too bad you're a wimp militarily you think everybody stating military terms you don't understand are copying and pasting right from wiki. And who'll hold a military discussion with you— me? Hell no. You that can't even comprehend basic military tactics or make a single point on military systems/tactics for over 3 hours. Still claiming military enthusiast, enthusiast my foot. You no nothing. What is my concern with the Origins of African Expert. What I understand about is based on how I see it use online by Whites/foreigners who use it as a derogatory comment to mock commenters from African countries on FB pages/groups especially amongst football fans. Etc Ronaldo vs Messi fans. And what's the correlation between origin of AFRICAN EXPERT and our military arguments? Stop your escapism, and beating around the bush. You know SH!T. |

If I ask you to explain the term battle of attrition now? You will start using Google up and down. African expert was actually coined when Mahrez joined Manchester City and North Africans were over hyping him before the term came to be used for all Africans in general. Now that you have vex me.. Can you explain what can make a military duel be rated as a tactical victory whilst simultaneously being rated as a strategic loss. Oya go and Google. abduleez1: |

Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 7:55pm On Jan 24, 2020 |
Awon eyan Google and Wikipedia. They are presently doing online research for a question any dedicated hardcore military enthusiastic will answer on the spot. They think military discussion is all about shouting propaganda western gadgets up and down. Even a corporal and Lieutenant in the armed forces might not know the answer to the above questions. Empty barrels make the loudest noise. 1 Like |

alexistaiwo: Same as me. That was my point until you continued to accuse me of pulling up copied Wikipedia pages, instead of debunking my statements with your expertise knowledge. I was awaiting your reply so as to learn a thing or two that had escaped my mind from your points, but Alas you didn't show up. Instead you continued your taunting, instead of showing me the errors in my ways. Peace Out. |
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by abduleez1(m): 9:42pm On Jan 24, 2020 |
alexistaiwo: Until you first present at least 2 counterpoints(answer) to my "fallacious" statements, you answers are null and void. Where did those come from? Evading I guess. From solid answers debunking my claims to rigmarole into ORIGINS OF AFRICAN EXPERT. I got your African Expert tango you got frustrated and started spewing grammar. What wouldn't make you to continue your evasive tactics if I give you your answers. You'll still cry WIKIPEDIA. Park well, I no get your time this night. |
