It's no more community policing if they still go through the chain of command in Abuja. They can call it any name they like but it just looks like a recruitment exercise. The question you need to ask yourself is why the fg is against community or regional policing. Did they need Amotekun to act before waking up? That's already one advantage of a regional approach. It creates competition and makes people sit up.

It won't be rosy but all these prediction of failure that they would be hijacked by governors has no reference point. Someone said it and every other critic just says it. Show an example of a governor abusing it. If we can predict so much, how come we couldn't predict Amotekun?

The reason the NPF has gone rogue is not because of the guns given to them but rather the failure of their leadership who they report to in making them accountable...the community police being organized by the NPF will also bring bad results as we are having now where impunity is the order of the day.

While NPF should have overall jurisdiction and hierarchy, the state/ community policing should be under the purview of the state/ local government with there actions regulated by state commissions.

Definitely we are moving backward. I am not been sentimental tho but reality is staring at us. Nigeria is not working and no solution insight.

I know that any security architecture that is not directly under the control of Federal Government will be supported. That is what make the kind our federalism a fraud.
