The message there is that naira (your currency) is weak

USD, GBP, Oman Riyal, Kuwaiti Dina etc, all have higher value than AED... You think their nationals in UAE will be converting same way your guy do.

Continuation......
At UAE embassy, it was 18,000 naira per doc......but put your mind on 19000 naira because embassy will never do the payment...You will see some guys outside who can do it.....I authenticate three and I negotiated with the guy that helped me and I payed 2500 naira for authentication of 3 document.. There is one important information that I never saw here... Attesting your eligibility letter is a must at the embassy....If there is no eligibility letter among the document, other documents won't be attested

Re: QATAR AND UAE GENERAL VISA ENQUIRIES Part 3 by be4dem(m): 12:36pm On Jan 29, 2020
It is their own charge because they will be the one to assist with the payment on their website... Normally it 1000 naira per document but if you can negotiate with them they might deduct 500 naira or 1000 naira from it. Once they are done, Yours is just to go the embassy and tender th documents and the print out showing evidence of payment

Hello guys, well-done to everyone here.

I read the whole thread from page 1-313, the good, bad and the ugly stories.

From everything said here, I think it is best to get an employment from Nigeria before coming to the UAE.

I am a Digital/Motion Graphics Designer, with knowledge of Video Editing and a little bit of Cinematography.

I am just 24 years, but I seriously want to leave this country.

I wanted to go to other first world countries, but it's quite expensive; so I decided to go to Dubai first to raise/save up the required amount, and then move to either Europe or Canada.

I have started applying for jobs on the sites listed here, Indeed, Nakurigolf etc.

I have gotten about 3 responses from the applications, but I noticed that whenever we get to the second stage of the interview (they ask if I am in Dubai, and where I am currently based. Once I mention Nigeria, I don't get any feedback from them again).

My questions are thus:

1. Is it still possible to get a job online with this Nigerian stigma, or is there something I should do that I am not doing?

2. I read here in few pages back that, the company that sponsors your Visa and flight are likely to hold onto your passport until the end of one's contract.

Will that also apply to me, since I am in Media/IT field?

I also want to ask, does it mean that I can't travel outside UAE (to visit my family back in Nigeria), until the 2 years is complete?

3. If my passport is held by the company, does that mean that nobody can come visit me from outside UAE?

Thank you for your perusal.

I hope to get an adequate response from the house.

God bless you all.

Good day All!

Please someone should help me with this enquiries on Direct Employment Visa on the security jobs in UAE: the salary range, accommodation (the minimum and maximum numbers in a room) transportation and how the feeding like, will there be provisions for gas to cook or free meal? I learnt some pay 200k naira -240k naira. How the Laundry is like, would there be provisions for someone to launder your uniforms? And other things like that.

Also, will like to know the duration of the shift everyday and off days. And is it possible to work for 8 or 9 hrs shift? cus I learnt some security jobs is 11- 12 hrs shift. How do they eat while on duty.

Also the job description of the security over there and where dey normally post them to?

Is there provisions for health care like HMO?

Any possible social life to reduce stress after work or on off days?

I learnt they require prove of secondary school cert. If one have higher certificate like Diploma will it determine place of posting or give an edge?

I also learnt some companies do sponsor to go for SIRA training for two weeks after which one will be given certificate to be able to work. Also aware they carry out screening like medical.

Please I await your response and confirmation on all these elucidated Above. Thanks so much in Anticipation.

What I know is that there are variations because the company that eventually employs you will determine the answers to most of your questions.

Some provide accommodation while some would not.
Some provide free food and laundry services, especially those that work outside the city or in accommodations where employees are not allowed to cook their own food.
Duty of most security personnel is mostly 12hrs per shift and one day off per week. while some work 8 hours, some don't even have day off.
Some offer employment and later ask you to go for sira while some will set sira as a prerequisite to qualify for the job.
Salary varies.
Security men can be posted to anywhere you can think of.
You'll be given medical insurance, its compulsory for all employees.
One practice that is now common among security jos is that the employee pays huge amount of money for the Visa and every other expenses the company is gonna incur on the sponsorship. Some pay up to 3000 or more.

For general enligtenment, The embassy fee is 150 AED/doc + around 9AED for e-dirham charges = 159 AED. The e-dirham charges reduces with amount of docs. In naira, it should vary between 15,700 - 16, 200 depending on the bank card you are using if you do it urself.
I know the guys doing it they try hustle, so it's not bad to patronize them @ 19k/doc. Should u b low on cash, consider DIY route.

Hello House,
I need clarification on a few things.

I used an agent sometimes late December for a work visa in Dubai, the plan was to get a security job as I have a big knowledge on that as I worked security in the UK . well, to cut the long story short , he got in touch and explained it will be impossible to get the job from here as there's a new rule or something similar which implies that all semi skilled or skilled applicants will have to be in UAE before applying .
I need to be sure of his words as I'm in between going with the option of him processing a 3 months visa and I get hooked up with his connect over there and we can get on with the job processing Or I get a refund.
I also need to be sure about the chances of getting a job there though I have quite a few experience on other jobs from the UK ( will it be a plus ) ?
I just don't want to get stuck in another country

Guys the visa is finally out. It came out sooner than I expected but he's saying, He wont give me the details to verify unless I pay the balance. Can I proceed guys ? I need ideas on this

Make sure u know his house and everywhere he goes . And also involve a lawyer ,let him sign an agreement on the basis if things doesnt work out as stated here. He would refund. once he signs. U can pay him.

I Sincerely appreciate your response boss. Thanks a lot!

For the bolded you are right bro, according to someone that works with immigration and travelling office as traveling and sales Agent. He said I will be the one to pay for the direct employment Visa and ticket. That when the Visa comes out after verification of the Visa and paying balance that they will now book the ticket for me in UAE.

@boombah

I think you should have agreed from the beginning that you will see your Visa before paying balance na. He should at least send you half of the document to confirm the authenticity of the Visa. Brotherly please if his not ready to let you confirm your Visa please I urge you not to pay the balance ooo. If he sure for him dat he has done the visa then he shouldn't be scared to give you details to confirm the visa na. They don't do things like that bro. Am sure he wouldn't wanna loose the balance with you so he will eventually let you confirm it before paying balance. Brotherly I have idea of the amount he would have charged you for the total package, its a lot of money brother so don't dull yourself bro.

Cheers!
