horsepower102: Igbophobia is real! It is not just a Yoruba issue. It is a bigger issue in the Niger Delta! There's a calculated approach to present the Niger Delta as not having ethnic Igbos. We all know that Igbo groups make up more than 65 % of the Niger delta 5 Likes |

NaijirianKing: It is a non issue! All Igbos have Igbo names apart from the Baptismal names. |
Re: . by Scottallen: 1:24am On Jan 30, 2020 |
IDENNAA: I concur! All Igbo people I know have Igbo names as well. So, it is a non issue. Many people just prefer English names for ease of pronunciation. |

NaijirianKing: Story! Leave a person just because they can't pronounce your name? Bro, your theory is good for some empty headed morons! Do you realize that many people do not know another place apart from their country? Do you know how many Americans who think that Africa is just a country? Do you know how many Asians who think Africa is a country? Do you prefer people to mispronounce your name? It is no fault of theirs if they can't pronounce African names. Many people are still getting to know more about Africans and you just want us to do away with them just because these people can't pronounce our names properly? Your theory is good only for morons! |

Scottallen: You don't know what you are saying. They wield enormous powers. The only place I know traditional rulers and it's institutions are useless is in Imo state. There is no king or anything of such there. Uselessness at its peak. Anyone can be an eze of an autonomous road over night. |

BeijinDossier: Barges don't take even half the number of containers a cargo ship can carry. Barges are flat bottom vessels used in low draft and small rivers for transporting a reasonable number of containers/cargo from the seaport to a river port. They don't even have their own engines as they require tug boats to pull them along the water. I want you to search for pics of container ships and count the levels of container arraignment there and compare it to the number of containers carried by barges then you see that barges are children compared to container ships. |

[s] MelesZenawi: [/s] Gibberish! Traditional rulers only have ceremonial powers. No traditional ruler in Igboland is as powerful as the Emir of Kano yet, the Governor cut him to size. The only traditional ruler in Anambra state is the Obi of Onitsha. The others are warrant chiefs! So, how are they different from the leaders of any other community? |
Re: . by BeijinDossier: 7:15am On Jan 30, 2020 |
[s] Unbiased1:[/s] Mechionu. What matters is that barges as well as ships can move goods/containers on water. That's the key point. |
Re: . by Nobody: 7:22am On Jan 30, 2020 |
Scottallen: There are things that doesn't need reply because as at today traditional rulers in anambra wields enough power in their respective towns. It is only a town without people that will allow their Governor to humiliate their traditional ruler. Emir of kano has its power starting and. Ending in kano. He has no jurisdiction outside that. Only his people in power will accord him more respect to lift his status. That been said...All traditional has their full powers intact...you can't just enter and mess it up....who are you to do that... If so let obiano try rubbish with Obi of onitsha, Igwe orizu, Eze ndi Eze or even any other let's see how it goes... Even Ngige will tell better. Gidigidi bu ugwu eze... Imo state has descrated what remains of traditional institutions all in name of autonomous communities. That's why any Governor can toil with those hungry ezes at will. |

[s] NaijirianKing:[/s] Non issue! All Igbos still use Igbo names. Igbo people are not the only ones with middle names. Many Yoruba's have either English or Arabic middle names! This is a non issue! |

UdechiHD: When the Niger bridge is complete, only barges will be able to get to the Onitsha port. The numerous pillars from the 2nd Niger bridge has completely scattered any hope of getting large vessels to get to Onitsha port. As for that Azumini river, I heard from a not-too-reliable source that there are sections of that river as small as 25 metres wide. If that is true, it will require not only dredging but also annexation and destruction of nearby land to increase the width of the river. That will run into billions of dollars in construction and compensation. 2 Likes |

IDENNAA: Igbophobia = Fear of the Igbo. People fear what they don't understand and then seek to destroy it. Igbo is an enigma for non Igbos. They just can't figure us out, hence the phobia. The SS Igbo hating Igboids like Ogba and Ikwerre are no different from the Yorubas. I had said this before. I have been on the forums of these groups, and the amount of toxic Igbophobia emanating from there would even shock Yorubas themselves. 6 Likes |

About this marriage issue eh, I have discovered and concluded the following: 1) Children and the household in general tend to be greater influenced by the mother/woman in the house. 2) The children tend to be more attracted to their mother's side than to their father's side 3) Judging from the high number of women in Igboland and those still being born, I don't feel we should worry too much about Igbo women marring men of other ethnic groups 4) Igbo men tend to marry more from Igbo land so the fear of having Igbo children who know nothing about Ndigbo is reduced. 5) With the current trend of people of other ethnic groups marrying Igbo women, we will soon witness a new generation of children from other groups who harbour zero hatred for Ndigbo as they will be greatly influenced by their Igbo mothers. 6) Check out what is happening in the Ondo government house. The Igbo wife of the governor has so influenced the governor that he recently handed the state transport service to an Igbo company to run, something that hardly takes place in Yoruba land. That is the power of a woman's influence in the family. Do you want to tell me that their children will harbour hatred towards Ndigbo like other Yoruba people? 7) As long as Igbo men continue to marry Igbo women, Igbo land, culture and tradition is save. You that is worrying about Igbo women marrying Yoruba men, have you wondered how Yoruba women will be feeling? Lol. Their men no marry them, igbo men self no marry them lol 3 Likes |
