TayserMahri:Dumb as usual....when it comes to the matter of electricity distribution , it is the work of ECG and the other sister agent valco. Gridco sell in bulk and ECG distribute it. will take you forever to understand how it works just like kenya failed to implement the success they learn in Ghana ... It a pity you lack both common sense and factual knowledge. ECG owns the most debt to Gridco, if the same ECG is recovering and recouping more profit now , shoudnt that tell you , Gridco the bulk distributor is recovering as well ? Yes Gridco of 2019 is diffrent from 2020 because is largest partner ECG is recovering.... Your unbalanced mind doesn't tell you , it is German goverment providing the cash, not Ghana, well , for your dumb skull , the funds is part of Germany’s Compact with Africa programmes initiative . over 1 billion dollar was allocated. and ghana is the first country from africa to benefit it. that shows confidentiality. Siamese is only instrument used by the German goverment for the success of the project... Despite Gridco setback last year, she still assumed the most competent power transmitter last year both in africa and west africa . This is to show you , it is not a GRidco issue but the distributors who failed to recoup profit and pay Gridco . YOUR mouth ranting about kenya vegetable millitary has been exposed by the USA mission . you idot are at war and incapable of protecting yourself . America established a base in your region, yet your citizens are not safe. the worst your army can do is to arrest bystander and called them terrorist.... Ghana is right behind the most deadly terrorist group( al Qaeda) in Burkina Faso. yet she is still consider a peaceful nation .that shows Ghana millitary resilent in securing the nation ..... probably you may need China military support , they should not only be there to rescue your economy. your stability is as well important... 1 Like 1 Share

Just30: Not about competitiveness its about quantity produced. The flower market is not saturated, so any country that produces flowers sells all of it. The share is simply a reflection of the total contribution of each country. Any country that improves its flower farming automatically gets a bigger market share, Ghana included, so if you folks set up those farms you are desperately aiming for, you can expect a ready market. |

Just30: I can see you are already afraid of the international market. Dont be so weak chinned If you guys do flower farming, as you are currently striving to do, you will cease being a single commodity driven economy and follow in the footsteps of Keinya Ghana is among developing countries whose economy is driven by a single commodity. Economists argue that diversification into high-value non-traditional agricultural export is a sustainable strategy to trigger an economic transformation in these developing countries particularly, Ghana. Floriculture industry refers to the production and marketing of a wide variety of plants and planting materials which start from parental products like plant parts and cuttings to the end product for the market. The floriculture products include flowers, foliage, potted plants, garden plants, nursery stock (trees), flowering leafy, annuals, perennials, flower bulbs and tubers (UFFELEN and DEGROOT 2005). UNCTAD (2008) report shows that African countries such as Kenya, Egypt, South Africa, Uganda, and Tanzania among others are stimulating economic growth and development through the floriculture industry. Most of these African countries generate sizeable foreign earnings from the European market through the exports of the horticultural products. GEBREEYESUS and SONOBE (2012) indicated that in 2006, sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) exported about US$ 2.06 billion worth of fresh vegetables and fruits with 63% headed to the European Union (EU) market. UNCTAD (2008) further revealed that US$ 423 million worth of cut-flowers were exported from SSA to the EU market. This highlights the contribution of the floricultural industry to the economic development of the SSA countries. LEIPOLD and MORGANTE (2013) emphasised that Kenya alone exports some US$ 400 million worth of floriculture products to the EU. This accounts for 7% of global trade in the sector. The country is ranked as 3rd world exporter of floricultural products and 1st in Africa. In addition, Kenya exports 500 mt of floricultural products to the European markets and this amounts to US$ 1.3 million earnings from the industry daily. The floriculture industry in Kenya employs over 50,000 people directly and supports several hundred thousand indirectly (KSOLL et al. 2009). 3 Likes |

vaxx1: Tells you how effed up your entire power sector is. A bulk seller like ECG and Valco should not be unable to pay debts, esp to their most important partner Gridco. Thats like students failing to pay school fees. Unless there is fantastic corruption in the sector, which of course there is, benefiting your gluttonous Nairobi-loving president, his concubines, ministers and good for nothing kings. The entire country came to the brink of darkness because Gridco wanted to cut power to those companies in revenge. And you wonder why you need siemens? Atleast Germany came in early enough to nip your power sector in the bud before it turned into a leaking basket . If not you would be typing in candle light. Always remember to thank the Führer for his sacrifices in WWII for Ghana to have light Americans dont have a base in Kenya, its a shared base. Kenya rejected their advances for a military base years ago. If we had wanted, they would possibly have constructed the most advanced base in Africa. The base itself was hastily built by the Kenyan govt more than 20 years ago when Somalia descended into chaos. So its not American. Ghana on the other hand came to the brink of handing its own security to the USA in exchange for a few bucks until Ghanaian citizens ran riot. Your leaders have become so gluttonous that they are wiling to sell Ghana for a few extra bucks. 1 Like |

TayserMahri:So you can safely talk about corruption ? You even try to compete a country that maintain a score above africa average corruption perspective point with kenya, that is deemed as one of the fanatically corrupt country in africa! in kenya , corruption appears to be a ‘problem-solver’ in Kenya’s electricity market , there is corruption taken place both by desperate customer willing to be connected to your national grid, your goverment officials, electricity officials. Therefore both the customers, kenya electricity distributor itself and the goverment officials bribe their way out . it is just as simple as that. your country sees corruption as the solution to problem solving ... last year, your police had to use executive power to stop a peaceful demonstration of protesters demanding for overall revamping of the kenya electricity distributor company which is known for high profile case of corruption and unnecessary hiking of customer bills. in addition to that , your electricity power sector is seriously in debt. "" Kenya Power’s total debt stands at Sh113 billion, down from last year’s Sh122 billion KenGen has hit Kenya Power with a Sh1 billion interest penalty for late payments for power supplied"". this are approximately 122 million dollar main debt and 1 million dollar penalty fee respectively. Without a proper goverment intervention as it stands now, your country will be plunged into darkness soon. already your city slums are already in darkness.... Gridco and her partner are all goverment agency , the idea of terminating power by Gridco must be validate by the executive instrument. Ghana is not a banana republic like kenya where lawlessness exist and corruption has become a fabric every goverment officials wear. Gridco issues were solved earlier than anticipated, it is now in a plan to even extend her service to far Mali and Niger after capturing nearby ivory coast, Burkina Faso and Togo... Americans dont have a base in Kenya, its a shared base. Your leaders have become so gluttonous that they are wiling to sell Ghana for a few extra bucksfeed that lies to your Neanderthal human hybrid brothers. There is working U.S.millitary air base in kenya that is indirectly policing your affairs from Pentagon. infact, kenya millitary inteligence does not have enough information of what is going on there? the number of army , what they do and how they carry out their operation is out of kenya millitary notice. they are independent body in your country . and shut up, they already have the most advance base in africa and it is located in Niger republic .. GHANA is for Ghanaian and not some few elites. it is not like kenya where kenyata and Indians run the show, Ghanaian rejected the draft of having a millitary base and the goverment has no option than to support it. though the goverment had initially claimed there is nothing of such as it is a joint exercise program . in Ghana, ordinary Ghanaian has a right. Tell your millitary men to stop being a sissy . they should stop hiding in the grass. unless you want American colonization. America can't be fighting your fight . your soveringhty has been sabotaged both by al shabab and America millitary presence . 2 Likes 1 Share |

Look at those graphs - and see South Africa is not doing as it ought to be in the tech scene. In most sectors - south africa is like 10 times bigger or better than say kenya - but in tech - the gap is narrowing so fast - it will probably close soon and Kenya might even overtake South Africa. https://briterbridges.com/innovation-maps jl115: |

They should teach you how to summarize. Lots of verbiage. Ghana electricity sector has brought your economy down - and IMF - not once but severally. And now you have 1B dollars annual over-capacity from expensive thermal power sources (Who does that??). Clearly you cannot compare yourself with Kenya (No 5 worldwide in renewable energy) - thermal power source making 5% or less of the electricity mix - with about twice the number of your electricity connection meters - and we don't have a mining industry like you do. Kenya power sector start from the regulator (ERC) - then we have KENTRACO (electricity distributor) - then we have power producers (KENGEN being biggest, and many private IPPS) - and then we one distributor KPLC - we also have REA (Rural electrification Authority). None of Kenya power sector players has any systemic structural issues that would weigh down our economy unlike your banana country of GHana. Heck I even doubt if any has ever made any loss in their recent histories...we last had such systemic issues about 20yrs ago! vaxx1: 2 Likes |

rvp20182:very stupid as usual , so you are yet to change from this nonsensical approach of reasoning, Are you talking about the same economy moody agency rated from B3 stable to B3 positive just last week? the whole Ghana economy positive structure and progress must be clearly an enigma to kenya and you idiot ... You suffer a lot of rain shortage and drought, how will you rely on hydro power ? which is still consider a very good advantag becuse hydropower plants can generate power to the grid immediately, there is usually essential back-up power whenever electricity outages or disruptions occur unlike wind power your goverment is aggressively promoting and likewise in addition to a sustainable fuel source, hydropower efforts produce a number of benefits, such as flood control, irrigation, and water supply. so dont be carried away with your flawed number 5 position. your country is not naturally gifted, the idea of hydro power will have been maintain. it can do alot in curbing or reducing Nairobi constant flooding ..... Your total energy capacity is too less than 1400 megawatt , that is less than what greater Accra alone consume..You stupidly don't know meters are connected based on the expense of the land. why should Ghana have more meters connected than kenya ? when kenya is like two times of Ghana by land size . it is very interesting to note that your power sector had been listed on your national stock exchange. Your power has been reeling under high debt for the past three years, a move that saw (KenGen) slap kenya power with Sh1 billion penalty for defaulting part of Sh 112 billion payments last year. Apart from Kengen, syndicated loans from ""Standard Chartered Bank (Sh50.4 billion), Rand Merchant Bank (Sh7 billion), Stanbic Bank (Sh1.1 billion) and Agence Francaise de Development (Sh1.1 billion) are haunting the power agency’s financial muscle. and this in essence has been forcing the kenya power to put some part of Nairobi in darkness. particularly the large populated slums area .... you can't run from it. the continuations of this darkness will sarbortage your economy and made you run back to China for more loans.... And it might interest you, Ghana mining sector is not power consuming like that of south africa 2 Likes 2 Shares |

jerrymsigwa: Tanzania should be worried yet still stable enough to find a way of making the most out of this opportunity by eliminating the growing threat of home grown terror like it's successfully done before while curbing tribalism, or be prepared to become another Nigeria or worse Somalia especially with ISIS taking interest in relocating to the country & Mozambique, hopefully Kenya won't be directly affected similar to the case with Somalia. For some reason I can't picture Uganda & Ethiopia as the only sane neighbors of the future high income Kenya, things are getting so ridiculous that Asians despite the middle east, Pakistan-India, North Korea have the nerve to call Africa war torn, fragile & they're getting validated each decade due to our continued failure to learn from our past experience.
