PAQ: innoson is not your own....it is a Chinese car! It is as "Nigerian" as the Honda, Peugeot, Kia, hyuandai, Jac, Nissaqns assembled in Nigeria. Any of them is fine because they all do the same thing. I dont care if they reject innoson or Peugeot or Nissan or Honda and neither should any reasonable Nigerian so long as they dont buy imported cars that add no value like Toyota, Range Rover, mercedes etc. 1 Like 1 Share |

isthatso:it is either u did not read what u posted from the internet or u don't comprehend it as it clearly contradicts ur position. thanks first paragraph states that even Ford company stocks cars from competing automakers for it's executives. here: "Ford World Headquarters and the Styling division in Dearborn maintained an automotive pool stocked with a range of vehicles from both competing automakers as well as the various Ford models for senior leadership to drive on a short-term basis" |

ernieboy: You just want to be pedantic. Companies stock competitor cars for product research and it wont be the CEO driving those cars. What research is Innoson doing? |

Aidejay: Toyota didn't blow by the Jpaanese govt forcing it on everybody's throat. Toyota became a world wide giant because they struggled hard to make their cars to be able to compete with cars from the West. Does Innoson seem like someone that desires that ? His own is just for govt to be patronising his cars and for Nigerian govt to increase tarrifs on importation of cars. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I reluctantly have to agree with the legislators. They have not rejected a Nigerian made car, they are rejecting a brand. If Toyota had built a Nigerian Prado plant with the same local value add as Innoson jeep, they would have gone for it. To make matters worse Innoson's price point is not even good for a new company struggling for market share. There are probably issues with component reliability that consumers are reporting. 1 Like 1 Share |

I don't just know. You'll are there clamouring for a positive change in Nigeria but you don't want it to start with you. Very soon, you'll say we are back to economic recession, how can we avoid this if we patronize foreign and not local made products. |

So the reps prefer to spent our scare and limited forex in buying patronizing foreign cars thereby depreciating the Naira Buy Nigeria to grow Nigeria. The reps are enemies of a progressive Nigeria. |

daddytime: That tells you that these buffoons called house of RAPE are the problem of Nigeria. They do not want the country to progress, hence hate Nigerian products. My heart just shredded into pieces. What is wrong with Innoson Vehicles? He needs to be encouraged by the Nigerian citizens by them patronizing him. |

Eteka1: When Toyota opened it's first factory, the cars it made were for only Japanese people. But their people invested in Toyota by buying Japanese. Today, they have grown from their humble begining to what they are now. In case you don't know, asking Nigeria to buy Japanese cars, is investing in the Japanese economy, instead of the Nigerian economy. What kind of person crosses the road to go buy provisions from another vendor, when his mother sells provisions in their compound? |

It then surely points to the fact that these reps are only representing themselves alone. We voted them to represent us o, but went and started representing themselves. What irony, they will be the first to admonish Nigerians to patronize Nigeria products to grow Nigeria and when the opportunity came for them to show example they failed woefully. This should be one of the saddest moments of this era of politicians in Nigeria. |

Unfortunately they ( reps ) might be right on this one . The said Innoson cars are good for Nigeria’s middle and lower class . But honestly yet quite unfortunate, our elite political members prefer the best of everything man made . Innoson vehicles does not meet certain standards in luxury vehicle production processes . What Innoson is practically doing is assembly . They buy the engine and gearbox from wherever, and they build the frame and shell from a template. And ofcourse install the engine and transmission alongside electricals and walla you have a working vehicle . But Innoson can work with his engine suppliers to open shop in Nnewi, and then invest heavily on Research , Design,& Development with atleast minimum $2M . Then invest in modern manufacturing equipment, based on the company’s desired capacity . Retrain staff , Basically rebrand into a full time vehicle manufacturer with the ability to design and manufacture its own brand of vehicles . No need to copy and paste Asian brands as Innosons Open for consultations. There is a market if Innoson can find it’s niche among sharks. 1 Like 1 Share |
