A car has a velocity of 108km/h.How far does it travel in 3 minutes.
@ mrshape, anybody else pls
Re: Please Help Me Solve This by Nobody: 8:32pm On Feb 06, 2020
V=108
U=108
S=?
T=180s

Use s=1/2(u+v)t

I Don finish am already. Fill in the gap

lemme test my Physics knowledge if it is still there.

S = ut + 1/2at2

S = Vt

V = (108 * 1000)/(60 * 60)
V = 30m/s
t = 3 * 60 = 180s

S = 30m/s * 180s = 5400m = 5.4km

thanks bro

this is wrong sir.

The velocity has to be converted to m/s from km/hr

It's a simple formula to solve it.

It's a simple formula Velocity equals Speed x Time
surely.

I’ve solved it earlier.

But there is a conversion he ommitted in the calculation.

Op collect your answer from this lady. She knows everything. Shioor.

Where is the acceleration o hanty. You just took acceleration and threw it away. All in the name of being right

Okay. But how can a car travel 5.4 km after just three minutes when it travels 108km in an hour. Common sense rules out your answer.

If a car travels 108km/h, then distance travelled after three minutes would be very little.

It's not a task that requires a tough formular. But mathematical formular.
S=1/2(30+30)180
=5400metres
5.4km

you seem not to understand the concept of common sense.

A car travels 108 km in 1hr(60min)
Can’t the common sense tell you that the car would move 1.8km in every minute.
In 3minutes, the car would move 1.8km + 1.8km + 1.8km = 5.4km

There is no need for acceleration, there was no initial velocity to warrant the car accelerating.

Hence the reason for this formula, S = vt
Re: Please Help Me Solve This by emerituscalculus(m): 9:33pm On Feb 06, 2020
Convert 108km/h to m/s
= 108x1000/3600
=30m/s
Convert 3mins to sec=3x60=180s
S=v*t
=30*180
=5400m =5.4km
Or
S =108*3/60=5.4km
