A40: Absolutely and I think that was one of the things the organisation was most fearful of. Sooner rather than Later Butler was going to clash heads with one of the organisation marquee players and then they would probably have had to trade Him. And maybe by then His trade value would have decreased. It takes a certain of character to handle Butler. For example swap Wiggins for Giannis on that Wolves team and Butler still remains a Minnesota player til today. Someone with as strong a work ethic as He has and one who is not going to back down from a challenge. Heck you can see it with Bam who is co-existing with just fine. |

Roland17:I don't believe it's a must a team must have one sole leader. The issue is Ben Simmons and Embiid whether they like it or not are not as experienced as Butler. Talent doesn't make you a leader by default. They are still babies in this league Minnesota had players that were not ready to take the next step and we are seeing it now. They are a borderline lottery team. Young teams no matter how talented always need an older head. This idea that everything will be kumbaya on the road to a title is not realistic They stuck with a guy who wouldn't rock the boat but isn't providing much on or off the court. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 1:05pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
Really weird trade. So PJ Tucker would be the Rockets starting Center. Lool I know he's big bodied but this ninja is like 6'5! D'Antoni has really gone mad |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 1:36pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
A40:Jordan Bell will most likely start as Center. PJ Tucker and Covington should lead the 2nd unit. But I'm sure you're not surprised like nobody who knows basketball and the Houston Rockets is surprised by this move. It's as Houston as it can be. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 2:03pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
SmooshCHN:Jordan Bell vs Jokic or Harrell or Porzingis? Ohh the horror. Anyways Rockets fans would be silently praying for Morey to leave and D'ANTONI not to get an extension after another postseason collapse |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 2:20pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
chic2pimp:Better shooter yes but not a sniper. Plus he's a sieve on defense and is a significantly inferior passer. Butler is definitely not a #1 guy in a Championship winning team but can you say Embiid or Simmons is? Can you count on them to give you multiple buckets in close games? I think they should have allowed Harris walk even if they didn't hold on to Butler and use that money to surround Embiid and Simmons with shooters. They low-key have a spacing problem pending when Richardson returns. The lineup of Horford and Embiid with Simmons would be interesting to watch come playoff time. Especially late in games |

I heard Mike Brown is the new D'Tigers coach. Very interesting hire. Can we afford him though? |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 2:27pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
A40: I saw that last night. I would love to think it is a short term hire for the Olympics. |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 6:35pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
A40: Dantoni is not the issue. Morey feels like he is done, so he is going down swinging, and is about to take the franchise down with him. His biggest mistake was his trash talking China, which has cost the NBA about a quarter billion dollars already. To be frank, I had stopped watching Rockets games some weeks ago - I cant stand to watch the nonsense we put on the floor every night. Morey had a chance to curtail Harden when he had an issue with CP3 last season. But the fool with a phd can only see numbers. His emotional IQ is so low it cant be measured so here we are with a one man team. I wish someone would make him stand under the rim and get dunked on by a hundred midgets, until he grows some sense. But I can only hope. Im not angry o, Im not angry 1 Like |

Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 6:41pm On Feb 05, 2020 |
birdman: I really pity Rocket fans sometimes Honestly, the dynamics of this trade does not shock me. D. Morey must have spent hours doing some serious analytic calculations about this new direction. Take heart and be strong! |

Roland17:He's a big name. Let's hope his coaching lives up to his name. Perhaps he could help us recruit talent that would allow us compete and do much better than we did at the World Cup |

A40: You are right, you can’t have an even sail to a championship, in the same vein, you don’t want to rock the boat that everyone falls off the boat and that is what Butler is capable of doing to an already fragile situation. Have you read what Al Horford said today? He said “We have some things going on in our locker room”. That comment buttresses my thoughts about the Sixers situation. B. Brown and the Sixers hierarchy know this and would only complicate things by adding another hot head in Butler. The Minnesota situation was not merely about young players. Remember the off court issue between KAT/ Butler? Rumors of Butler bedding KAT’s girl? There was also a leadership issue because KAT refused to defer leadership and identity to Butler. |

Iggy agrees to join the Heat on a 2yr/30 million deal. The 2nd year is non-guaranteed. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 7:38am On Feb 06, 2020 |
Roland17:Well if Butler left and they are still having issues then what does that tell you? Maybe Butler wasn't the problem after all. Would be interesting to see how they navigate the playoffs from 6th seed considering the East is wide open Elton Brand's a$$ would be on fire if they fail again this year Minnesota is an unserious outfit from KAT to Wiggins, these guys are either just dropping empty calorie stats (in KATs case) or flat out being borderline busts (Wiggins) they just lost their 13th game in a row. Butler looks even more vindicated now |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 7:40am On Feb 06, 2020 |
Seems Porzingis broke his nose. |
Re: The NBA Begins by chic2pimp(m): 9:55am On Feb 06, 2020 |
A40: As I said He is definitely not the overall better player. Simply just a better shooter. Butler does everything else better Simmons definitely NO, well not yet anyways. Embiid on the other hand I totally see it. The only thing that worries me about that dude is His fitness. If I were to ask you "Do you see the likes Giannis,Jokic,AD, Harden as No1 Guys in Championship winning teams?". If the answer is Yes, then I don't see why you can't include Embiid in that convo. Many people will continue to doubt those aforementioned players until they actually get it done. No way are they going to play that Line up in the Playoffs vs Any other team but the bucks. They are simply asking for trouble if they did that. I do agree that they should not have signed Harris. Surround that duo with Shooters and a deep bench and the NBA would have a serious problem on their hands. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:54pm On Feb 06, 2020 |
chic2pimp:I don't see it in Harden, AD as #1 guys that can lead a team to a title. Even Embiid has not showed that yet in my eyes I have a little more faith in Jokic and Giannis |

Man That's all we could get for D'Angelo Russell?? I don't even know if I should be angry we got Harrison Barnes v2.0 or be happy we happy we're getting picks and clearing Cap space for a serious F.A next season. 1 Like 1 Share

Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 8:47pm On Feb 06, 2020 |
Lool this is the wackiest deadline I've seen in recent years. Marcus Morris to the Clippers y'all. Andre Drummond to wait for it....... The Cavs Looks like Gallinari might be joining the Heat. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 8:52pm On Feb 06, 2020 |
SmooshCHN:Haha see this guy oh. You got Wiggins and a couple of picks for D'Angelo Russell. In my eyes you guys scammed Minnesota. If you take out Russell's passing I don't see what he does better than Wiggins |
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:54pm On Feb 06, 2020 |
Man f*ck the Knicks, and f*ck the Clippers. They hate the Lakers so bad they did the Morris trade just to spite us. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 8:57pm On Feb 06, 2020 |
We all knew DLO was not going to stay long-term with the Warriors. This will be DLO's 4th team in 5 years and for such a young player I am kind of concerned about his development. His constant movement over a short period will affect his development/ growth and if not properly managed may ruin his mentality. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 9:04pm On Feb 06, 2020 |
Marcus Morris and Isaiah Thomas to the Clippers. Lakers fans would be having sleepless nights rn |

SmooshCHN:like seriously that's all? I was actually thinking we would wait till when curry comes back and see how they would look together. Whats the play here?? |
Re: The NBA Begins by aliondo: 9:55pm On Feb 06, 2020 |
A40: He wasn't going to sign with us next season anyways |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 10:28pm On Feb 06, 2020 |
aliondo:Well, thinking of it now, I think it was a fair trade. I don't think Wiggins is a gamble. Curry, Klay, Draymond, Wiggins and a solid Center via free agency. I think Wiggins would flourish. A40:Well, you can only know how good or bad a trade was in retrospect. It's a fair trade. Besides, we have too many picks now. All that if Wiggins eventually gets traded would be something. Tundesam923:We don't need Russell. The plan was never to keep him. We have picks and could eventually trade Wiggins for a decent Center. I think Bob Myers would go hard after Giannis though. The gist has been flying for almost 4yrs now. If not Giannis, it's someone who's going to be a problem and I'm here for it. |
