It's about time FIFA review this offside rule...

Marginal offsides should be allowed to stand .
The way VAR has been ruling out goals for such marginal offsides is ridiculous

It is an embarrassment that Maguire got to stay on that pitch. I don't see how that can be missed.

That was 2016/2017 by the way. Injuries stayed glued to that boy all season until he started showing some recovery that got him on the bench a couple of times in the following season.

And in 2017/2018 being the following season... He wasn't given enough chances, played out of position in some of the few chances he got and also had fitness issues. He was 18 and beginning life in Europe. Why is that hard to understand?

Oga, when Osimhen was injury free in 2017/2018, he was fit for most part of the season. Can you tell me why he didn't shine?

Why was he not given chance?

But you claimed injury was the factor he didn't get to play. That is false.

Apparently so..

But being an ex footballer doesn't guarantee that u will be a good administrator..

Football is business too .. .. it's just the appointments in public services in Nigeria are hardly on merit..... Connection and sentiments usually influence such appointments.
Don't think so, Odegbami has never been state fa chairman and be has contested for the post a couple of times

False. Osimhen was 18 at the beginning of 2017/2018 season and clocked 19 in the middle of the season in December 2017. By the end of 2017/2018, he was still 19 and very much far from 20.

And his injury palava didn't wait till season's end. The pics I dropped clearly showed that. He battled it from the 2016/2017 campaign before he recovered and fell back into it later on in the course of the 2017/2018 season.

4 months to clock 19 at the beginning of the season and when he clocked 19, what stopped him from playing despite the fact that he was free from injury, and when he played what stopped him from shinning?

You mean when he recovered in 4th of May 2017, he was still not fit, and was still battling with injury as at when the 17/18 campaign began in August?

Why didn't he shine before he fell back? pls, don't tell me injury.

Referees can make mistake occasionally... My concern is that they are using VAR to undermine the offside rule... How can b offside by 0.001cm? Or by an armpit?
It's pretty annoying. They should review it...

Then you keep reading in your isolated ways again. I said injury, his playing out of position in the most of the few chances he got, not getting a proper run of games all contributed to him not getting the chance to make any real impact as a teenager. That is the fact. So stop twisting things in your usual style.

And you claim that he only suffered injury towards the end of the season. Oga, that is super false. Bcoz the he also battled injury around mid-season or so. That is the truth you keep running away from.

When he was fit enough to play, he was played out of position on several of the few times he did play oga. How many times will I spell that out to you? He was also not given a proper run in a stable role as his role kept changing from game to game from LW to RW to CF and all coming majorly in cameo moments.

At least you can see he was indeed 18 at the beginning of the season and stayed 19 till season's end. So he was no where close to 20. grin

This is also part of it. Further enhances my point on Osimhen not being given a fair run of games when he was fit enough.

Truidstar:

Actually, Divock Origi was Osimhens problem. Liverpool was paying 100% of his wages. His loan agreement was he was to play 95% of Wolfsburg matches as long as he is fit. Even if he is in form or not. Osimhen scored a lot of goals in training and friendly matches. The coach then said when asked then that he cannot field Osimhen due to the loan situation agreement he met as regards a player.

It is better you have a better understanding of the topic before commenting on the discussion.
what is the topic to be understood?

You claim that Osimhen's Ligue1 exploits are not enough for him to be above Awoniyi, but you have not pointed out when Awoniyi was actually clearly better.

Awoniyi is just an unlucky player.

the guy even said he was trying to hold up Batshuayi with his legs.

Like, how?

There was no way that angle was done to protect or save either of them, and I'm glad they replayed a similar scene with Son against Chelsea, where he raised his leg up and caught a Chelsea player in much the same manner. Son got a red for that challenge, but Maguire gets to score after his own.

Osimhen was injury free from the beginning of 17/18 till almost the end of the season, even till 2 or 3 days to the end of February. Does that look like around Mid-season?

The fact remains that the injury cost him to miss only 5 matches out of 34 matches.

I have sufficient understanding of what you implied.

I just stated my opinion, I am not arguing with you.

What Osimhen has done in Ligue 1, is enough for him to not be mentioned in the same light as Awoniyi.

You can carry on

Awoniyi never really got to shine. He has been overshadowed at various points in his career

He just can't seem to shine above others.
