NURTW is a legitimate and the largest trade Union in Nigeria and the last time I checked there's something in Nigerian constitution called freedom of association.

When lazy and incompetent governors have nothing to show, they continuously come up with silly distractions.

This lazy man comes up with all manner of silliness and meaningless policies that he ends up reversing anyway.

NURTW... The craziest job in Nigeria... Those Agberos and their chairman can decide to beat a driver or deflate his tyres...
As far as I'm concerned.. They should get a real job or should all be in prison lipsrsealed

Going on strike would be the best thing sef... Yeye
He no go better for them if they no go on strike.
What is their usefulness self. Making a Professor as chairman add zero to their identity as useless transport car owner exploiters.

He better compile with NURTW terms if he want a peaceful governance. For those of you making noise about how crazy Agberos and their chairmen can be don't forget they are better and respectable guys among them that abide to law and seek for unity. It's the same job some even use to send their children to higher institute and making big impact.

Even if majority didn't go higher institute, yet they are more educated street wise than most of you. Watch how you address them because for different folk different stroke

Your post lacks depth. More like a statement based on love or hatred for a government.

Union collect the money to do what exactly? To borrow drivers in the case of theft, accident or financial crisis Or for the Union leaders to sit somewhere doing nothing then expecting return to flex with in the evening?? Did you know how hard it is to be a commercial driver?? The money spend for putting d vehicle up and running. Only for someone who has never in anyway helped me when I was looking for money to buy my car or repair my car live and feed fat on my money. My brother let the state government collect it and use it to develop the state, afterall NURTW is not the one fixing bad roads.

And who says the union has not been meeting the welfare of its members from those dues collected? If you aren't a union member you can't boldly imply all you said above.
Ask yourself why the drivers pay for those tickets? Like I said all unions have a way of levying it's members. The drivers only complain of money collected by the touts at different bus stops which are illegal and are extortions. such money cannot be collected by government. Like I said earlier it's corruption that made government not realise enough money from parks NOT NURTW. with the advent of park managers the government will only able to collect all that should go to it and not union dues as they have been proscribed.

If NURTW goes on strike, isn't that a good riddance of them? cheesy

Who enjoys their presence anyway?

A case of someone caught within a plot to be roasted for meal, and he thinks the best way to protest it is by dousing himself with oil cheesy

If NURTW goes on strike, all commercial drivers in the state are on strike. Can any state survive without commercial transport?

NURTW is actually a trade union comprising of commercial drivers. It is an affiliate of NLC. The general misconception that the union is just about the few guys that collect money at the parks is not correct.

The governor also doesn’t have the power to proscribe a trade union registered under the law. The National industrial court already ruled on the matter but as usual, Makinde the poster boy governor of PDP doesn’t respect court judgement.

NURTW mean National Union of Road Transport Workers. Their members include all drivers driving bus, Okada and kẹkẹ! If they strike, how will you get to your destination?
And if they strike, how will they make money? Remember they are not earning salaries.

They hear NURTW and automatically see and shout agbero, this is how shallow and ignorant many of our youths are.

Makinde is just too naive and immature to govern anything, either his advisers are dumb and ignorant of the law or Makinde himself don't know anything and doesn't listen to his advisers.

NURTW Makes more money than any Local Government in Nigeria (TEN FOLDS). Yet they don't construct any road. Even the Garages they always waited for the government to get them repaired or maintained. All they use the money for is to splash it on women and settle their thugs. They should tell us what the money collected from parks are used for. And how does such money benefit the populace

NURTW remains the biggest transport sector union and believe you me if they go on strike everyone will suffer.

Just so u know...NURTW don't own a single bus..
The drivers will decide whether in their interest to join or not and I'm sure if they're do be honest..they're happy with the way things are right now

If you must know I am a registered member of the said union in Ibadan, and I do drive my car myself, since you seem to know how they operate kindly tell me how the Union has been meeting the welfare of we members, did you know how much we use to pay daily before the proscription?

Mr sense that knows all tell me the union that collect dues everyday aside NURTW. If you think it's easy why not resign from your current job and start driving cab so that you will be paying the dues with your self aclaim sense. Did you know how much we pay for tickets daily, we pay at virtually every bus top and whenever there is Police, VIO or Road safety wahala we are left alone by the so called unions that you want us to be paying. For now seyi needs the money to do better things in Oyo State so know more free money, if you want free money buy a car and give it out on hire purchase or better still, drive your car yourself. IGR is the only way to develop a state economy,
So Government management of its resources is never a crime,
Edo state has employed those collecting revenues from parks to their own pockets before as revenue collectors with pos and electronic cards, and they all complied and the drivers like the idea.
So why will OYO State be different.
Please no one is above the law
They should be careful on whatever they planned.

I don't feel like wasting my breath on your kind, Makinde is very naive and immature, but he's not suicidal, he'll back down and make the necessary adjustments in favor of NURTW because he can not sustain any kind long term friction with NURTW, it's just a matter of time.

Seyi Makinde reacts as proscribed union move to strike

Wednesday, February 19, 2020 9:43 pm

The executive governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde on Wednesday said the Southwest leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers lack the right information and understanding to comment on happenings in the state.

The governor also called on the leadership of the union to as a matter of genuine love for the Oyo state chapter of the union intervene and ensure all internal crises that led to the proscription by the government are amicably resolved.

According to a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa on the heels of a seven-day ultimatum recently given the government to revert the proscription placed on the union in the state.

https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2020/02/19/seyi-makinde-reacts-as-proscribed-union-move-to-strike/

Ode learner governor, did you reach out to the leadership or look for any means to resolve whatever made up issue you created,

Now the fool is begging and looking for amicable solution and a face saving way out.

In fact, what's NURTW internal issues got to do with you and the state? Is NURTW a state agency or ministry?

This Makinde character is just too inept, thoughtless, he gets drunk and carried away social media praises and propaganda.

What a dunce.

Well let's wait and see since you are deviating and avoiding the questions I ask, for now Seyi needs the money and if he fails to account for it then we petition him. I din't answer your question because it was a redundant question.

The state already collects fees all over the place from transportation workers so what are you talking about? The also need their union fees after collecting all manner of registration and permit fees from them?

What is their business with NURTW and the fees they collect from their members?

Is Oyo state government now a fees collecting trade union?

They have NURTW branches all over Nigeria so I just wonder why many of you are losing sleep over Oyo state and not advocating for Abia Zamfara, Enugu, Alwa Ibom, Edo, Kwara and so on to also proscribe NURTW?

Some moves and polices are just dumb, just like Makinde, he's truly very dumb
