If at 25 you have 20m and don't have the brain to plan for your future, then your source of income is questionable especially when we know the "hustle" of people from the region u claimed.

Only a FOOL willl use 20m to travel abroad to start life again. All your points and reasons while you choose to travel are all silly excuses. undecided

cheesy

I will advise you from my heart.

Buhari still has 3 more years to rule. Life is Brutish, short and unpleasant here. Leave this country if you can. It must not be US. You can go to Canada first, school for one or two years, work, get a permanent resident permit. Then you can move to the US.

Wish you all the best

Hmm. With 15M you can Invest in Hostel mostly in school (Uni, poly, Colleges) environment. It’ll pay you big time or invest in Eatery or any food selling stuff. I have a intimate friend here in Lag in invested 600k in starting up a mini eatery last year March. Trust me. He’s got another branch now. Though self discipline play big role in financial management. If you’ll be traveling. Don’t do that will all of you money bro. Abroad most times are overrated. There’re still some goods in Nigeria.

The right question is what business made you that 20m at 25. I think you should keep doing that same business why asking what business to do when you already mawde 20m.

U have said it all my brother. As for me, I have become tired of advising people who are comfortable in Nigeria not to relocate abroad coz when u advise them to stay back and invest the money in Nigeria, they usually think that u are deceiving them. Life abroad is not really what it seems. Sometimes I wonder what will make someone who is already doing well in Nigeria to abandon his successful source of livelihood and relocate abroad. I know many Nigerians who are regreting today, had I known has become their favourite statement because of their silly mistakes. Though most of them were deceived. And these guys were doing well in Nigeria.

That’s like an average annual paycheck in the USA (note: Average not high).

But if you manage it well, it can sustain you and a family of 2-3 kids (who definitely do not need daycare services) for a period of 6-8 months. That’s with everything included. But it will be a stretch unless you or your partner try to get a job right away to in order to supplement it and especially to get a good or average health insurance in case of health problems .

So do you calculations well and see how it favors you or not.

quote author=Brodapounds post=86853347]Hello dear nairalanders.

Please I'm going through a state of mental confusion.

Currently i have approximately 20 million and 300 thousand naira in my bank account.

I have two thoughts.

1) I am 25 years old but I'm not a university graduate, i only have ND (National deploma) from a polytechnic In Edo state, Auchi precisely.

I would have become a graduate years ago but after my "ND" years ago, i refused to go back to school and i decided to hustle for money.

Most of my classmates in school back then are all graduates but all the same, looking at my bank account now, i have no regrets.

So this is what i plan on doing.

1) Can i further my Education In any university in the United States with the money and plan on staying back after my degree, for the fact that I'm 25.
Will that be advisable?

2) should i stay back in Nigeria and use part of the money to build a house In my hometown in Benin and use the rest for business?

3) Is there a chance of going to USA and start all over again, look for job.
Will the money be enough to rent a house, foot some bills untill i see a job in the USA.

Note i choose USA only because it's my dream country, I'm not scared of the traveling ban because I'm 100% confident that it will be taken away few months from now.

Please i won't be replying any mention or questions.

All i want is to take note of good advice.

I already know a reliable traveling agent.

Please other suggestions are welcomed apart from mine.

Don't make a mistake of investing your hard earned money on foreign education. I could see you're a young and talented guy. Let me share with you a brief story of my life. I'm a polytechnic graduate , not because poly was the only option. My course of study was better studied in the polytechnic because only 2 universities in Nigeria were offering my chosen course as of 1996 and they were far away from the south west. my parents didnt want me to be too far away.

That said, i graduated and got employed after my nysc, first in a renown pharmaceutical company and later in a telecom firm after which I established my business as I was tired of working for people. I started with only 600k which I saved from my earnings. Today, my business is worth over 4m USD. We are prominent in the health sector, up to the neighbouring countries of Togo and Benin republic. .

You are such a lucky guy with such impressive funds in your account. I'd advise you plough back the money in your business. No matter how sure your travel agent is, he is not the visa officer whom would approve your visa. Once you get refused, the best he can do is encourage you to try again, citing all manners of sweet stories...except your agent guarantees 100% refund of your money in case you're not successful with your visa applications and none of them can ever do this, so don't dare.

There are viable areas in which you could invest in Edo. I served in ekiadolor in those days as a youth corper, 2001 to be precise. Your land is very good for growing rice, which is hot cake in Nigeria today. You could also invest in vegetable farming. Get the necessary orientation and you'd be glad you did. i have a friend who plants only ugwu in benue. He transports it in trucks to lagos and he is a big boy now. Any legitimate business that could fetch one up to 20m naira in capital is a promising one so, I'd advise you continue in that line, alternatively.

After my poly education, I invested on myself by obtaining trainings abroad on my own. My first country of visit was USA. I sponsored my training programme then. prior to that time, i had not been to any country. Those trainings were relevant to my career. I refused to go for master's degree even though i had the money. I've garnered over 10 training certificates from renown firms globally, including new horizons computer learning centers in USA before one guy brought the franchise to Nigeria. You too can stand tall. Degrees don't translate into money my brother.
The one i had over there was later obtained to boost my resume, not to seek employment. Even in the US, job is scarce for graduates. Ideas now rule the world and not degree certificates. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, utilize it. Courtesy of my business, ive been to virtuality all the western countries. I had the opportunity of meeting with USA president a few years ago. I was the only one invited in the whole of black africa, 2 of us from Africa. A guy was also invited from south Africa. No single Nigerian was cited in that gathering of over 1000 people invited from over 100 countries globally except me...no senator, no governor, no minister from nigeria. The event took place at the daughters of American revolution hall in Washington Dc. At your convenience, you may further your studies on a part time basis just to boost your resume in case you might wish to contest for governorship tomorrow in your state grin and not for the sake of seeking employment.

I have a friend called Ngozi who went to the UK to study law. When she finished she stayed back, no jobs and she decided to venture into what she had a flair for....fashion. she opened a website and posted different designs on it while in the UK. Customers in the diaspora who are always too busy to see a tailor would place their orders and they must pay 100% in advance. Now, ngozi makes up to 2000 punds monthly in profit, from the comfort of her apartment in the UK. Her story has inspirired many. She would send clothes and measurements to her tailor in Lagos to sew for her customers. Her sibling in surulere would package the clothe and send to the customer abroad by courier. Ngozi didn't have a single sewing machine. Her tailor in Nigeria would do all the wahala. She first started with one tailor and now She has 2. The 2 of them are always busy all the year round , doing only Ngozi's work. They work round the clock. Now she's planning to open a fashion line in London.

Please think wisely . I see you as one of the billionaires of the future generation. All the best

Ah please I would like to connect with you. I'm presently at a crossroads in my life. I have a degree in Chemistry and earnestly looking for a job. Would you please let me network with you? Even if if it's on the business front. Would be grateful. Thanks and God bless.

and how many people in the USA have 60,000 dollars in their bank account ? less than .001 percent of the population. why do you nigerians have this penchant for talking big all the time ? its getting sickening. 60,000 dollars is a big amount for anyone to have in the USA. you can buy several houses in detroit or arkansas with 60.000 and start collecting rent from like 20 tenants

I will advice u to stay back in Nigeria. Then start a meaningful business that would makes u to further ur education as well as travel round the world as u want.
So, if it's me, I'll used half to run a school business in a new promising area, use some part for buying and selling business(cus that would bring in at least daily incomes), then use the remaining for real estate business that I know could multiply in value by few years to come...

Thus, @ops if u don't mind and if u are sure that the money is legit,. Try to contact me basically for the school business....

Stay back in nigeria honestly you might not be able to raise 20m naira in the USA for 10 years if you are working Yahoo Yahoo is tight in the usa now and if you are caught for fraud they will deport you straight away the usa has changed now bros .

Very funny. If you’re in the USA and you’re saying this, all I can tell you is to get out of a dead career field and go into something that pays.

You go there for education. Countless non-graduates. Your degree from here is worth squat over there, unless maybe you're a first-class graduate. I know someone that was a chief matron at Luth, she left about 10 years ago, she got over there and still had to enroll courses, do exams and get certification before she could practice over there. Today, 10 years later, she is miles ahead and doing one million times better than she could have done if still in Nigeria. She has her own house now and has gotten citizenship too. She has moved all her children over there. They are schooling and doing great. She came to Nigeria about 4 years ago, guess what for, to struggle to collect her pension of about 25 years in service. Your corrupt naija system wanted to chop her pension money. She had to fight to get it. Last 2 years, she had to come again because the pension she struggled to collect, was no longer been paid. She had to come again to sort it out. Maybe they were praying she was dead so they can eat her money. Nigeria is a shit hole.

I'm not saying nigeria is good bro...i'm saying he has the capital to start something and build a future here in nigeria why travel out now. People go there for a better life that they can't seem to get here due to the nature of this shithole country but he'll thrive more in this shithole country with 20million than in any Germany or america with the same 20million. I'm just speaking for mysef sha o,everybody got his/her own opinion about this.

so let me get this correct, you say you have over 20 million naira in your account but you want to run away from nigeria ? what is wrong with you ? go to lekki and buy a house in a gated community 24 7 security and electricity and free water for 20 million and your kids can play inn the beautiful gardens and have other friends of well to do people to play with. then you can use the remaining money to start a business for your wife while you continue to work. but because you have myopia you want to take your kid back to post-brexit britain where the right wing is rising and racial crimes is increasing and NIGGER is being scribblled everywhere ? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR BRAIN ? YOU WANT YOUR KID TO GROW UP FEELING LIKE AN INFERIOR HUMAN BEING ? WHEN HE CAN BE IN LEKKI ENJOYING LIFE IN GATED COMMUNITY ? WALAHI YOUR HEAD NEED OILL CHANGE
