yes. Building is an easy thing to start. It’s a project anyone can embark on. Now, it may take years to finish but it’s a project with no hard regulation. How easy do you think it is to secure a property in the US compared to Nigeria?
it takes many nigerians their entire lifetime in building a house of their own..that is nigerians who work in the civil service.Govt puts no incentive to aid nigerians in having a house of their own.it might be easy for wealthy nigerians not ordinary nigerians.

mindset is all that matters. Thing is many of the middle and lower class are always looking for low hanging fruits. They are the ones who are always looking for the sharp way. I tell you from experience. Who were the main victims of MMM people blamed it on poverty but did MMM not try to venture is other poor countries. What was the outcome in Kenya and some I can’t remember. You have a point that it is easier for the elites. I agree with you. But I have heard stories and worked for men that were nobody and became millionaires. It’s all about the mind. There are many abroad who are still hopeless and haven’t figured out what they want.
I get your point, but no one can deny barriers to success an average low class youth faces unless you aren't being realistic.
Many of those millionaires who rose from nobodies grew up in the old era, where nobodies easily rose from the scratch in Nigeria; my dad is a case study.
But nowadays, it's so hard to even get a job not to talk of ascending to lofty heights.
Of course, super intelligent people will always have their way in a chaotic society, but how many are?

It's definitely possible to make it in Nigeria but don't just paint it like it's easy to just wake up and attain a comfortable life. It's far easier abroad.

Look at this, the so called yahoo boys do all sorts of crime just to attain a lifestyle, even minimum wage workers can attain in America. That's enough to tell you both societies are miles apart.

I have not for once said it’s easier in Nigeria or Nigeria is better. The message I have tried to pass over and over is never regret your decision. Yes Nigeria is this, that shot hole. The hypocrites calling Nigeria shit hole are the ones doing crimes. I bet you if you check theblife of many calling Nigeria shit hole, you will shoot them if you have a gun. No person with a growth mindset will do and say many of what these guys do. Ask same yahoo boy, he will tell you he wants to get a way out of naija. Don’t we have them doing frauds in America. Nigeria is a people. Same every where. Te hardworking ones, hardworking in US. The fraudsters, fraudsters in US. No one who wants to ever make meaning out of life wallow in regrets like many do on here. It’s a sign of emptiness. This has been my message. One love

and have you wondered why nigerians abroad would rather send money back home to build, instead of saving up to own a house in the US. It’s not like they want to build at home first. It’s not easy. It’s not easy to put up a building anywhere in the world, but it’s easier starting one in Nigeria . Completing is left toyou!

Very easy. Just have a permanent job or regular job plus an average to a good credit history.
A minimum wage worker can buy a new condo (flat) similar to those ones in Lekki, or could just buy an old small renovated house with a yard.

It is easy in Canada and USA. With a salary job, you can take a 10 - 30 year mortgage as long as you have a good credit score. This arrangement is a lot better because you would start living in your own house immediately.

In Nigeria, it will take years before you start living in your own house as a salary earner because of the money and time it will take to complete.

You can check on Google to confirm what I just wrote.

Lots of foreigners get it. For example, a tech worker that has a portfolio plus two or three certifications can get a salary job and after two years can apply for a mortgage.

In other professions, you will spend 1 - 3 years doing a form of "conversion" (writing the required professional examinations), then you get a salary job.

Regina Askia left Nigeria as an actress and became a registered nurse in USA after some years (she still a nurse and she loves it). So many foreigners have done, are doing and will do something similar to that.

It is the so-called "hustlers" (i.e. Uber drivers, online freelancers) that will NEVER qualify for a mortgage.

Topics like these make me laugh. If I invested my life savings in relocating do you expect me to confess to a random stranger that I regret my decision, when I have nothing left back home for me to fall back on?

If they truly have no regrets why are many of them here posting responses to your question? it's because they miss home, this is an anonymous forum where they can catch up on things happening in Nigeria and interact with us who are here. You don't need them to tell you they regret, the fact that they are here shows it.

I pity the ones who will fall for the lies being told here grin as for me, I too like this my country , my only issue is greed, many people here are too greedy. Apart from this , Nigeria is a good country to live

^^^
Some of those who relocated do have regrets. Some do not. People fall on both sides.

It is entirely possible that people who really have no regrets did post responses on this thread. Is that so hard to believe? Why the scepticism?

The "lies" being told here could go both ways: some people relocated and they do have regrets - but they lie about this. And some people stayed put and they have regrets - and they too lie about this.

I am interested in your reasons (other than 'it is home') why you consider Nigeria a good place to live. Would you care to list or explain further?

Two years is even far away. While it isn't advisable, I have seen new immigrants apply for and successfully got mortgages in less than 1 year in Canada. As long as 3months probation period has passed. Reason why this is not advisable is because an applicant's credit rating won't be solid under one year, so they end up with a high interest mortgage rate instead of the market average - a poor financial decision.

. Now you understand my point. If you are going to develop yourself, there is a chance you will live a better life in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. The world is constantly looking for value. If you are going to “hustle” a.k.a fast money, running abroad is a rat race. This has been point. Has Regina ever mentioned that Nigeria is shit hole. Check very well, many people who make statements as this are never do wells. If you follow my posts keenly you would understand my message. The good thing also is writing those professional exams affords you mobility to any part of the world. Now an individual who has not managed to pass SSCE or graduate with a second class lower will come online and call Nigeria shit hole. Is it same individual that will pass professional exams abroad.
