Bro, everybody is a thief! It's a pity we dont get riders comments on how some drivers scammed them too.

Believe me, some drivers are from hell. I have seen drivers use saka, frauds, etc to scan riders too.

Nobody holy pass! I was scammed last week by queen Jackson but I let it slide after we bombed her phone with calls I'm sure that girl wont try it again for now atleast.

Going down to drag her parents it's not necessary.

What do I know?

My fellow colleague tried to scam me yesterday in Owerri.
Most drivers are worse than criminals.

My memorable experience was the day i treated one popular Nollywood actress Bleep up at Oduduwa way, ikeja GRA.
The request came in at Sunmola street, Maryland while i was offloading travelers bag from my boot.
Rider : Hello Taxify, where are you?
Me : Sorry can you address me by my name? I'm at Sunmola street, not too far from you.
Rider : Hissed and told me to come quick.
I was ready for the trouble because the rider i picked from Airport gave me 2k tip . Mama said i should keep up my goodwork that God will reward me for it someday.
Got to Arowojobe gate, gatemen delayed me for 5 minutes interrogating me like i am some kind of errand boy and i kept calling her to speak with them but she shouted at me on the phone.
Long story short, i got in, waited outside her house... Mehn! Some nice edifice dey Maryland o.
Immediately she sighted my car, she came closer and asked me to open the door for her, told her its not locked, she was stunned, hoping i would give her the 'Celebrity treatment '.
Started the ride and proceeded on the journey while she kept ranting on the backseat with her face full of pimples.
When we got to her destination, she said i should drive in, i objected and told her unless she has a luggage, i don't drive to rider's compound. There, she started ranting again , asking me if I don't know her or haven't seen any of her movies.....
I said no! I could see the disappointment in her eyes, ended trip , fare was 800 naira on taxify.
She gave me 1000 naira and i told her i have no denomination on me . Na there wahala start, she started calling me all sorts of name.
While we were exchanging words, another trip came in, i told her she should let me check around for her 200 naira, she got down and slammed my door. I was furious, had to come down and check and found out that my window roller had fallen off.
I got into the car, rev it and acted as if i wanted to hit her, if una see the way she run that day, e go be like say hire killer dey pursue her.
Didn't know two gatemen watched our drama, they started laughing heavily while i was driving away calling her an arrogant mofo.

She should have reported you and got you deactivated this is really bad conduct, very bad

Sorry o, ethics officer. It is not too late, you can write taxify on her behalf.
Did you read everything i said about her?
I took my own pound of flesh and it was sweet.
Uber/taxify drivers are not your personal drivers and should not be treated as such.

Bolt/Taxify are mad!!!
Took this lady from vi to freedom way.
We went to eko hotel first and I waited for more than one hour. She begged me to wait cos her stuffs were inside my car. When she came I checked the price was N1,300. Got to her destination Price was N1,700 from eko hotel with toll gate fee to freedom way. Bolt wrote price was recalculated cos of poor route. She gave me 2k and ask me to keep the change. I do not expect the fare to be less than 2k. I think I will stop waiting for Bolt rider. Some will tell u wait for me after-all my money is reading.

true talk bro

I’ve found out that when you dress well and are composed, no rider will take you for granted

Me personally I try to maintain my cool always but if you show me say you get craze then I go show you say I be Lagos boy and put you in your place especially all those mannerless and classless girls

Again I find it funny that on a thread like this which is meant for Uber drivers to share their experiences, we would let some dimwit girl to decide how and what we do. Someone that has never contributed constructively on the thread nor have been of any use. It’s a shame

Lastly yes angryigboman could go overboard sometimes but he really makes sense in most of his comments. God knows there’s no way I would have modified my post if I had posted that girl’s pictures

Wow! Guys I like how you guys team up to shame and recover money from fraudsters. Keep it up. I hope you can help me recover mine too.

I was actually defrauded by a fellow man around August 2018. I had bought a few months naija used honda EOD earlier that year and the seller was magnanimous enough to leave the plate number to me till the cars registration expires at August 2018. When the car registration was getting to expire around August then, I needed to do change of ownership. I was also planning for my wedding that held in November 2018 so I needed to make trips from Lagos to the east in preparation for the wedding. I was to travel at the end of August then so needed to change the car's documents to my name.
The cars initial registration was done at Sogunle registration office. I was told that's where the change of ownership can only be done. So, one day I went to Sogunle registration office. I met a lot of jobbers at the gate that were calling and trying to enquire why I came visiting. Due to fear of being scammed(though I was later scammed too) I walked straight into the registration office and enquired from a lady who directed me to their then boss. I met the boss( a middle aged man) and told him that I came to do change of ownership on my car. He called one guy( the scammer), they call him "Chicago"(I later got his real name as Seyi Popoola) and directed me to him that he will help me and do it. Since I was introduced to him by the boss in the office, I thought he was one of the staff there. I later got to know he was one of the jobbers. I also thought that since I had come to the office directly, it was difficult to get scammed. I was so wrong. So I negotiated with "Chicago" to do the job for 48k. He requested for some documents which I provided and transferred 35k as advance payment with the agreement to pay the remaining balance of 13k when he completes the job by handing me the documents at the end of August 2018. That was when my problem started.
I gave him the two weeks he said he requested to complete the job. After the two weeks I called him for the papers and his stories started till it got to a point of him blocking me from calling him. His initial story was scarcity of plate number for re-registeration. He said that a different plate numer is used for re-registration from the ones used for new registration. I later go to know that was partially true. There is a re-registration plate number but a new plate number can also be used for re-registration. When I furnished him with that information and even promised to add 7k to the initially agreed 48k just to make him do the job, he started promising to deliver today, tomorrow and next till I got tired. I was planning for my wedding then and was very busy coupled with my job. I explained everything to this guy over the phone. He sounds so genuine and trusting over the phone that after speaking with him, I will let all my guards down till he failed again and again. I was calling him alongside my then fiancee, now my wife, and he was promising both of us which he never fulfiled and I never got back my money. One time he told me he travelled to see his very sick mum and was with her at the hospital for over two weeks and I actually believed and pitied him. When it was obvious he wasn't going to do the job or refund my money, I visited the Sogunle office trying the meet the boss that directed me to him and was shocked to learn that he was transferred to another location. Attempts to get his phone number was futile as the staff their refused to release it instead they all promised to talk to Chicago which didn't yield any positive result till today. That was when I learnt that Chicago was a jobber and not a staff. I had to renew the old documents that made it possible for me to travel with the car then. The highway policemen always asked to speak with the man whose name appears on the car documents. I later did the change of ownership with another agent in August 2019 when the renewal expired.
So this is February 2020, 18 months after, Chicago(Seyi Popoola, his Facebook name) is still with my 35k. His phone number is 08028482705. I actually have his picture and wouldn't hesitate to post it anywhere. He deserves no mercy. He is a fraudster. I was thinking he is a fellow man that understands after I explained to him of my wedding plans then with the financial obligations that comes with it. He sounds so trusting and convincing when you speak to him but never follows through with his words.
I have actually made arrangements with a distant police relative to lure him to a place and arrest him since I don't know his address but that hasn't happened due to time factor.
It's still that same car that I started using earlier this year for part time ehailing.
Guys if by our collective effort, we can make this guy to refund this 35k, I will use at least 10k from it to distribute airtime to members of this platform.
Thanks in advance.

Bolt app is not reading well right now, I don't know if any1 use to get the estimation blah blah due to poor network, if u pass toll gate, just pray they add it or u review.

About waiting; most of us got trapped in this based on our mood, try not to wait for riders or u base it on what they r set out to do, if they want to use sterling bank, no prob, but GTB is a no no for me. I did sometin crazy yesterday, may come out somehow, but I was restless cos I can't learn on hope. I got a ride yesterday from a man in Ikoyi, he wants me to take his wife to shoprite ard toll gate and bring her back to Ikoyi, as we r going, she told me I'll take her to phase 1 to get juice, so I got curious and ask her how long do she intend to use in shoprite, she said "More than an hour", in broda shaggi posture I exclaimed more ke! Madam pls let me call ur husband, I tot is just a quick buy and go something... She was like no no pls stay, you r cool, I prefer to have u ard, ohk ma! U can go, but I'll call ur husband and talk this out. I call the husband and told him, can't stay dis long, it have to b an offline sometin or deh pay me for d ride so far? so we did offline with promise of I'll do u well and to me well is relative. I left my app on, working ard lekki to Lagos island and to d glory of all dis woman spent 4hrs shopping... When she's done, she told me to take her to badore, b4 dropping her at Ikoyi, another 2hrs waka. Las las d effort was worth it.
