All I see here is propaganda to put fear in the minds of igbos to stop the restructuring campaigns so as to continue to keep the unjust federal structure that allows the north to steal the natural resources of the SE and SS regions to develop their parasite God forsaken region. How can the igbo race that is well known to be very industrious and creative worldwide not be able to survive in a restructured nigeria? The federal allocations from oil proceeds that goes to the Eastern states benefits less than 5% of the Igbo population.

What we are saying is, we had a regional arrangement when all the regions managed their resources, but your forefathers in the SE restructured Nigeria to Nigeria that you have today, they wanted one Nigeria so they abolished regionalism.

This is what you asked for so reap what you sow.

He saw the SE lagging behind the SW when the SW was advancing and building the first of everything in Nigeria and Africa and the North becoming major economic power so he came up with the evil plan to scuttle the regional arrangement, but as usual, they end up sabotaging themselves by plunging Nigeria into the same One Nigeria they now opposed, cry and moan over everyday.

From day one, they've been sabotaging and creating problems for Nigeria, but they always the main losers.

Restructure don't have anybody or state in mind.

Instead, offer states speedy competition and development.

Southeast have been champion the campaign for restructuring Nigeria to Regional system of government. But I keep asking myself if southeast would survive the regional system of government in this present generation.
My reason for saying this could trace back to 1950 to 1960 where the same pattern was operated then. During regional system of government in the southeast ,we have enough evidence that the system wasn't work for them.

When Nnamdi Azikiwe knew that the system wasn't work for them he came to southwest but instead of Azikiwe to learn how Awolowo operating the system that working for his region. Azikiwe sermons Awolowo political enemies to frustrate Awolowo leadership.

Another reason why igbo should stop talking about restructuring . Southeast have no resources to finance regional government.

Also the southeast contributions to federal government is very low compare to what south-south and southwest contributing.

Again many igbo will still not willing to return back to their home state.

Another reason during the regional system of government southeast didn't achieve anything but other regions are flourishing. That is why Aguiyi ironsi introduced unitary system of government. Every government pursues economic development by trying to achieve macroeconomic objectives in a particular system of government.
Even a desert-like Dubai is among top countries right now.

Stop talking too much and listen

In your bid to try and give a counter-argument, you wind up digging an even deeper hole for your sad self!

When did my forefathers ‘restructure Nigeria to Nigeria we see today’? Igbos haven’t controlled the center since 1966....it’s been mainly you core northern muslims! So just what is it that my forefathers did in 1966 that you haven’t been able to reverse since then? Or could it be that you secretly prefer a unitary form of gov’t but haven’t got the balls to come out and boldly proclaim it...preferring instead to keep quiet and deflect the blame on Igbos when challenged on your stand on the national question?

Nigeria is my country and I'm not only enjoying Nigeria, I love Nigeria and believe in Nigeria.

...but I do understand that Igbos hate and wish evil for Nigeria since 1960,s sadly, God is never on your evil wishing side.

God Bless Nigeria.

Aguiyi-Ironsi the then ibo head of state who was supposed to punish the sadistic blood thirsty ibo coup plotters and killers did not punish them and to make matters worse, he abolished REGIONAL administration that separated all the regions in Nigeria.

He abolished federalism and replaced it with a unitary system of government with decree 34 of 1966. The decree abolished the regions and unified the federal and regional government aka Unitary aka On Nigeria.

Aguiyi-Ironsi, the ibo head of state joined us all together because he wanted one Nigeria so now you have one Nigeria, ENJOY the one Nigeria and stop crying.

You've made your bed, now have a good night sleep on it.

Whenever I see the quoted I got crazy like... who is writing this

Does restructuring means everyone should go back to their States?

You lots always say the same thing when Igbos talk about secession. Who told you all when a country seceeds all it's citizens will leave their locations and go back??

Are all Nigerians in Nigeria?

This line @quoted gets me mad. Is it that these people don't have sense??

As things stands right now, you people are just making noise, you are not serious or ready about anything.

All your leaders from governors, to reps, senators, ministers, ambassadors and so on are part of the decision making process in Nigeria so whatever you don't like about Nigeria today, your leaders are part of it.

If you really want to break away, your leaders must first resign from the Nigerian government, return back to your region, have you return to your region and vote for a referendum, then push your referendum through the Nigerian government and lobby the UN and international organizations for support.

Right now, you people are not serious, you are just making noise.

I wonder why NL allow this type of hateful topic to trend.

I will ask if Nigeria can do it on its own? Oya ooo, now we have Covid-19 let Nigeria stand and produce what it needs to combat it. Sometimes I ask why I am fused in the same shithole with fools.

people told you that they need restructuring and you are interested in how they are going to survive when you have not thought about yours, Restructuring is for the betterment of every region and not to favour a particular region.

I doubt if any region can be self reliant. Even Including south-south. Some people don't know that our politicians have milk the country dry.

Don't go there my brother!
The south-south ( oil-producing state) by accident of nature has been endowed immensely. Imagine what 2 million barrel will do for a county of only 15m people? It will turn to overnight paradise no matter how clueless or corrupt the leaders are. Saudi Arabia is a case study.

So stop deluding yourself, abundant resources for a moderately low populated region will perpetually alleviate the people to greatness

Is this the best you could come up with
One logged in when one saw the title, expecting to see a reasonable opinion to engage. Alas, one is disappointed.

Two questions:
1. Why do you think we can't "survive" the regional system?
2. What are those parameters that determine who will/will not survive a regional system, then let's discuss why you think we don't have the capacity.

Meanwhile, one has noticed this tendency of some entities to make conjectures about the future of the Igbo race, basing solely on the 60's history, blindly or ignorantly assuming that nothing could have changed up till now.

It's just analogous to assuming that a son will be a drunk, JUST BECAUSE his father once was. That's rather absurd.
But the yardstick was rolled out in the write up !!!! It may even worst than the past simply because the type of leaders and Noise followers you are in the region presently .Not coordinating,no Game changing strategies ,making too much noise without meaningful action, you can trade anything with money ,your present leaders are not closer to the followers like the past, most of you is more exposed in business to the extent you don't pay any more attention to the development of your region economically, If it is granted other regions will benefit you with your business ideas better than your region because you can't stop migrating to other region to do businesses which will be a revenue generating and development for the host regions .You can only build a gigantic duplex structures in your villages as you are doing presently which can not add any Economical Sustainability to your region .

It's better we restructure than for us to continue this way, Nigeria problem is leadership problem of not getting the right people to the right position by merits and qualifications, the North are so afred that if merits and a level playing ground is allow in Nigeria their own is gone, they created federal character and quoter system to get themselves to where they don't qualify to be , they thought their children that Western education is abomination and against Islam and the demons of Islam , the best now is to restructure and let them go backward in time to the time of Muhammad as they want it,. Let others who embrace civilizations move on
They know that it's a great error for the South and North to be joint together, the different in culture, believe and value system will never allow progress unless they are desperate

This is what I tell easterners eyeing the hydrocarbons of minority groups shouting about restructuring or Biafra. The question is what does the east possess or contribute to the centre now to warrant such hubris from them.

The reality is the east should be the last region to shout or demand restructuring.
