Nothing, in as much as your name is on the payroll. It gives you an added advantage over others that may be restricted by the codes of conduct in the letter; you can easily claim ignorance of the rules whenever you flout any of it

And they can easily send him off anytime, or decide not to pay him fully. The disadvantages is much too

Its risky though. So this firm sent me a congratulatory message last week to start training with them next week without employment letter, I boldly told them that am not coming because every reasonable company would give you an employment letter. Atleast the employment letter will state your entitlement, and thats the only thing that binds you and the company.

The only good thing about it about not being giving an appointment letter is that you can easily leave the company when you get a better offer from another company.

I was not given at my formal place of work, when I wanted to leave I didn't even notify I just left.So I didn't resign I just stop going. That is the advantage.

If they didn't pay you, you can leave. Besides how many organisations will do that?

That show that no contract was signed, meaning your employment dose not have a prove and you can be relieved anytime or not get paid.

No, you can't.

Most companies will expect you to resign formally, allowing a window of say two weeks to one month, or risk forfeiting any accruals you should have benefitted from.

Without an employment letter, you can get sacked with no warning or any entitlement. Infact you can be sacked on pay day without a dime.

You can also leave anyday anytime.

The main issue here is that you cannot sue the company nor report them to any authority.

They have plausible deniability on anything that concerns you.

They can send you to represent them but if things go south, you were never their staff.

Nice question OP.. Let me put this out there too.

What action can one take when their employers asks them to sign an undertaking to say they are no longer entitled to annual leave after working for a year. Is that right?
Re: What's The Implication Of Working Without An Appointment Letter? by priscaoge(f): 8:18am On Mar 01, 2020
I think you might not have a case against them in Court when something happens.

They can wake up anytime and terminate your job. What is stated in your appointment letter determines if you will accept the job or reject it depending on what you look out for in terms of benefits.

It’s not advisable to be working without an appointment letter

Uhm.

It means you are just working as a casual worker.

They can just wake up and send your ass packing and use it against you.

But you can also use it against them. If you are tired of the job just leave without telling them.

Employment letter is a valid document stating your employment terms and proving your employment. Without it you are jobless. Thats the document binding you and the employer.
It will state your payment conditions, pensionable or not, permanent or contract, post and position.
Please make sure you get it
