1) do a course related to your bsc
2) IELTS is not compulsory or required in a study visa as long as your courses were taught in English
3) Canadian education is not cheap but not expensive as well... so if u are looking for cheap, it depends on the province the school is located..Ottawa is expensive, newfound land is not etc
4) as long as you have a study visa, u are automatically issued a work permit. Therefore u are going to be working and schooling simultaneously
5) it's dependent on when u start applying. If u start now, by September u are out of Nigeria..

Thanks so much Anon.

Thanks very much...
Never knew of such brilliant idea...
Thanks once again

When you’re ready to apply for school in Canada, just go for a 2-year program in any college outside of Ontario. It’s cheaper, stay away from 4-year university because the funds you will need to present at the embassy is too high.
College programs are cheaper and since it’s only for 2yrs, you’re only required to show proof of funds for 2yrs as opposed to proof of funds for 4yrs. Besides, colleges are cheaper than universities and you can always transfer to university after your 2yrs of college. In that case, all you need to get your BSc is additional 2yrs of study in the university, since you already have 2yr-diploma from a college.
This was how I did mine. I graduated from a Canadian college (2yrs) and transferred to a university in the US to obtain my BSc within 1.5yrs. Good luck and wishing you all the best

True...
I will just follow the advice given and go for a 2 year college
Time to start searching for a cheap one that can accommodate at least 5 million naira
mcobex:
Except if you have a sponsor that can help reduce the financial burden, if not it will be difficult to convince the vo with that amount.
It would have been easier if you are going for a one year program

you can, but I don’t think you can get a scholarship for post grad. I got mine over 10yrs ago when I was in my late teens and it was for undergrad. But no harm in trial

Obrigado

Is it really really compulsory for the transcripts to the sent from my respective schools to the university? undecided
Cause both are kinda troublesome... I have them with me and I have certified them... Just wonder if sending them myself will still be accepted sad
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Nobody: 11:16am On Mar 01, 2020
Yes you can but make sure the address is your schools address to make it look like it’s from the school directly Happy new month

Please someone help

My advice is, do not use company as your sponsor... if the company wants to sponsor u, I will advise they write a letter stating why they are sponsoring u and how they can still be in operation despite how expensive Canadian education is

Hello everyone,

Firstly I would like to appreciate this platform and everyone who’s actively involved for all they do.

I have been gathering notes from this platform for some weeks now and they’ve been really insightful.

Please I have a challenge and I haven’t really seen people talk about it.

My dad and I bare different surnames.. I bare his grandfather name while he bares his grandfather’s. I have just been granted admission to MUN and I intend to use my dad as my sponsor for my visa application. I am confused, I don’t know how to prove he is my dad.. or am I just worrying myself for nothing ?

Please I need advice on this .
Thanks

This is kinda confusing cos am wondering the history of how all that happened.. well. I will advise, you and your dad need to write and sign an official affidavit stating your dad is your dad, explaining explicitly why the different surnames..if he has a pic of wen u were still a baby or young.. that can be attached.... also in your dad's letter of sponsorship, he needs to state that as well..

If you are a Canadian citizen or Permanent resident then yes. If not then you may have to use the companies.

I'm not, but i know someone who is a citizen. Can i use their details?

Or Do you know any company you can recommend?

My chosen school starts September and the deadline for application is May...
Pls I would like to know if it's already late to start pursuing the study Visa and just wait for next year?
I don't know how long it will take...
PS: I haven't gotten admission letter nor started any processing! As for the school: it's Thompson Rivers University

Thanks.

Hello JosephYemsol,

Most schools use your last 2years of your GPA to assess you. It is advised that before you apply to any school, you should enquire from the school about it. Thus, your CGPA isn't that bad for a course-based master and if possible also extend your program choice to PGD/C.

Its best advise to check IRCC website to know if a prospect school is recognized by IRCC and can qualify you for a PGWP.

All the best

Thank you boss... Much appreciated.

I even wanna give up on Canada jare. Processing German schools now...

It's rare o. However, you should be worried about your last 2 years GPA and not your final CGPA. If you have a min of 4.0/5 in each last 2 years semester, you could try your luck.

I wish you God's favour
