Investment is more of Marathon than a Sprint. It's more of average velocity not constant velocity or speed. Learn the rules before embarking on it. On the long run you will be a winner if you abide and play by the rules and use the right strategy |

emmasoft: Please can you explain how VGIF works? It appears not be like a money market fund in terms of accrual of daily yield. The daily price list available on investment one's website states that yield has been around 10% but an investment of 5mil has brought just 5k after a month. Kindly enlighten me. Thanks. 1 Like |

pimpo: As earlier stated in some of my posts. VGIF is a mutual fund under the fixed income category Which has yield bench marked with sdf and currently is 8.5%. This is the guaranteed rate. Pls check the facts of the fund once more: Vantage Guaranteed Income Fund FUND Fact Minimum Subscription: N50,000 Additional investment can be made in multiples of N1.00 Fund Objective: To provide capital preservation and a stream of guaranteed income Financial Year End: December Fund Category: Fixed Income Asset Classes: Money Market, Fixed Income and Equities Fund Manager: Investment One Funds Management Limited (A subsidiary of Investment One Financial Services Limited) Fund Trustees: First Trustees Nigeria Limited Fund Custodian: Stanbic IBTC Custodians Fund Registrars: First Registrars & Investor Services Limited Nominees: Stanbic IBTC Nominees Limited Features/Benefits VGIF offers a guaranteed return which is benchmarked against SDF (Standard Deposit Facility) Returns are paid in January and July. The return on investment is not subject to withholding tax. Investors may also earn an additional yield equal to 35% of the net income of the Fund The investment can be used as collateral for loan from banks. If you have 5m the daily rate will be calculated thus: Simple Interest for one year = 5,000000x8.5x1/100. =425,000 One day interest = SI/365 in this case is 425,000/365 = 1,164.38. Please note it may note be posted daily, that doesn’t mean the interest was not earned. In conclusion, kindly send a mail to customer care and copy your account officer requesting for your statement of account for more information. or call 01448 8888, 08181057319 1 Like |

Apologies don't know if this is okay here. I intend to finance a former colleagues business. The business is a corporate security firm which is duly registered, has a business office location, other due diligence done. and already operational. Challenge Before cheques are cleared each month, it gets to like 10 to 15th of the following month and the guards are supposed to be paid timely as this is critical to the business success factor. Request The business needs a running/rolling capital for payment of salaries of office staff and guards pending when the cheques are cleared. This is expected to carry on to a time the business is able to survive on its own My proposal Please I need advise on how to go about partnering with the business and have my capital and profit recovered safely. |

Alternative To TBILLS VANTAGE GUARANTEED INCOME FUND (VGIF) is an open-ended collective investment scheme which pools investment into a wide range of Fixed Income Securities especially very liquid short term money market instruments and government treasuries What are the objectives of the Fund? The fund invests in a well-diversified portfolio of Fixed Income Securities, short term money market instruments and government bonds as well as placements with rated financial institutions in Nigeria as well as equities. The guaranteed return of the fund is referenced to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s Standing Deposit Facility (SDF). The SDF is the lower limit of the asymmetric corridor around the MPR There are many advantages of investing in the Fund which include: Flexibility: Subscribers can buy into the fund or redeem either part or their total units in the fund at any time irrespective of the 6-month fixed tenor. Capital Preservation: Principal is secured and interest is guaranteed up to the SDF rate. Regular Income Stream: The fund pays dividend twice yearly (in January and July) Additional Income: In addition to the guaranteed return, unit holders can also earn an additional interest pay-out equivalent to 35% of the fund’s excess return above the benchmark Guaranteed Return (SDF); typically referred to as profit-sharing. Expertise: VGIF is managed professionally by Investment One Funds Management Limited (a subsidiary of Investment One Financial Services Limited). Who are the Trustees of VGIF and what are their functions? FBN Trustees Limited, a subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria Holding Plc. is the trustee to the Fund. The Trustee’s duties include ensuring that the Fund manager carries out its duties in line with the Trust Deed and rules and regulations of SEC thereby protecting the interest of the unit holders. What is the minimum amount that can be invested in VGIF? The minimum initial amount is Fifty Thousand Naira Only (N50,000.00). Do I get an evidence of investment? Each subscriber is issued a Fund Statement for every investment made. The Certificate or Fund Statement is required upon redemption of investment; it serves as an evidence of your investment in the Fund. The Certificate/Fund Statement will be sent via mail to the investor or can be picked up at any of our offices. How do I monitor my investment? Investor can view their account online or contact the Fund Manager on any working day to request for his/her statement which shows the total number of units and the interest earned so far on the investment. Does the VGIF pay dividends? VGIF pays dividend to its investors twice yearly (January & July). Unit holders have the option of being paid or re-investing the dividend in the fund to increase their holding. ROI- 8.5. Hello Emma, Based on your experience, can you conclude that for the investment VGIF package, especially in the recent years gone that investors have benefited from the excess of 35% additional yield? when was the last time an additional excess yield was distributed to investors? Reason for wanting to know this, is because i am either looking at Alat by wema which offers 10% on annual savings or to enroll with Investmentone VGIF which offers 8.5% + addtional yield that may be distributed? Your advise, would be appreciated. emmasoft: 1 Like |

pimpo: Can someone explain more of this cos even at 8.5% interest rates as advertised monthly returns should not be less than 34k on 5m investment. I just opened an account with investment one VIGF and about to fund the account but I have to pause till I get some clarification |
Re: Mutual Funds by Dsticks47(m): 10:50am On Mar 03, 2020 |
jossy26: Am sure that issue have been addressed. VGIF ROI is 8.5% Benchmarked against SDF. Go ahead and fund it as we are regulated by SEC we don’t offer what we won’t be able to give. And also Over the years investors get more than the 8.5%. VGIF is an actively managed investment product that invests in and combines the benefits of money market and capital market, affording subscribers a diversified hedge against inflation risk whilst ensuring minimum guaranteed income as well as the principal invested, the fund is the first of its kind in the Nigerian financial services market. VGIF’s guaranteed return is referenced to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Standard Deposit Facility(SDF). The VGIF rate is however, ONLY changed twice a year that is, January and July. Currently, the VGIF pays subscribers a minimum guaranteed return of 8.5% per annum In addition to minimum guaranteed return, unit holders are also entitled to an additional income of the fund’s excess return above the SDF. Go ahead with the payment you can call your account officer. For those staying within Lagos am at The Maryland office. For those that wants to subscribe to The VGIF. Contact me through my Sig. |
