Lyricalgod: Masters degree doesn't guarantee good job. I have a lot of CVs in my email of foreign Masters holders looking for any job at all. If you know you can handle a business, no need to waste time and money going abroad for Masters. Start up that business and watch it grow. In few years to come, you will be happy you did. 3 Likes |

hisexcellency34: Where, as with other Nigerian universities, students get sexually transmitted degrees? And you want to compare that with Ivy League American universities or Russell Group UK universities? Are you for real? Besides upon graduation, this lad can secure jobs with WP - exactly my own experience over 20 years ago. Keep day dreaming. The spirit of Odemegwu Ojukwu will scare the hell out of your life in that backyard university. 2 Likes |

StudyCrestLtd: 9m naira for graduate school in the U.S? That can barely pay tuition for a semester in many programs - mind you, Master’s degrees are usually for two years in the US. The average graduate school program in the U.S costs around 15m naira per year(and this is just tuition). 3 Likes |

Lyricalgod: To apply for masters degree takes less than 30mins to 1hr if you have all the necessary document. So get your 1) certificate 2)Transcript ( number 2 is important than number one cos oyinbo wants to see the number of units u have from 100-400level. Most UK schools require around 180-240units in ur bachelors and it most be honours......that’s why some HND aren’t eligible for masters until they get extra credits thru a postgrad-Diploma) 3) IELTS: you may or may not need this but if u have it on ground you will be able to apply for many schools as possible. If not, you will need to apply to schools that enable their portal to accept application without IELTS score.then later you can negotiate your bachelors was taught in English so the IELtS can be waived. But some school no dey gree... 4)GED: if your destination is USA, u might need a GED 5) motivation letter or statement of purpose Oyinbo Dey very emotional and they like to hear that this is part of fulfilling a dream. No one can tell it better than you. But u can always hire a pro to write it. It can destroy you application if it’s poorly written. 6) start scatering the internet for for available school that offer the course you want...this part is easy.... 7) application fee: if u chose UK, most schools don’t charge application fee except Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick and a few others...Some school in Europe charge as well. But u can get a lot of schools in Europe that don’t charge too. United state schools and Canadian univeristies usually charge btw 75-200dollars ... 13 Likes 1 Share |

I think even if anyone can financially sponsor themself, they should still apply for assistantship. It is absolutely crazy, to want to spend so much money on any programme abroad when you can get them fairly easily for almost free with a good GRE and maybe TOEFL or IELTS scores. 3 Likes |

1StopRudeness: For the motivation letter/personal statement part, I'll plead with anyone writing it to take proper diligence and do it by him/herself. While it's normal to be afraid of submitting a poorly written motivation letter, it's better you face the fear, work on it yourself and write something from your heart. Go online, search for samples, look for what the schools want you to write on and spend a great deal of time writing it. In my journey so far for a master's degree abroad, I've been successful at least in one area: writing a personal statement/motivation letter to four Russell Group universities and being offered admission in the four. That's a great start to any achievement in the course of your programme. Shun laziness and be original. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Lyricalgod: Depends on what country abroad. For a UK Masters, you can pretty much secure admission online. Most important requirement for admission is your personal statement. Nail this and you have a good chance of getting an offer. With this offer, you can apply for a visa. You’d need to show you have funds available up to a certain amount. I think you must have paid the tuition fee as well and show you have enough to cover your living expenses for one year. This doesn’t have to be an exact amount as you are entitled to work 20 hours a week during studies so they know you can earn some money. That’s it. Get your visa, get a ticket and get your Masters 3 Likes |

After graduating, I got a well paying job, but when my parents offered to sponsor my master's in the UK, I resigned immediately. First decide on what you want to study, then the country. The university website and the country's immigration/border agency will provide all the information you need for international students. Very important to consider funds. Beyond your tuition fees you need to consider living expenses (accomodation, feeding, groceries transportation) books, etc that will last you for a year Good luck 1 Like |

tundeloveday: Things will change or things have changed. Come 2021, the requirement will still find a £30,000 job or be on your way back home. Which job pays graduates in the uk £30,000. Very very rare. So what peter has given you paul has taken it back. English people are the most corporate deceitful people in the whole world. Nothing is for free and will ever be. Avoid the UK if you are going through the student route or you may end being an illegal immigrant and resort to Credit Card fraud for survival |

delta4ALL: Coursera and EDX are MOOC, both provide free and fee online education portal to world-class universities across the world. You have to meet all entry-level requirements including academic references, university grades and letter of admission. Some of the university provide scholarship and hardship grants. It is a cheaper and risk-free option, as you only pay for the courses that you intend to do. Even if you don't complete the MSC you will have certification covering the subjects that you studied and you have an option to select a subject that is in demand in the modern industry. I will suggest that you do your own research. :https://www.coursera.org/ and https://www.edx.org/ In my opinion, unless you intend to be an academic, universities degrees are overrated, time-consuming and expensive in the modern era. Businesses are only interested in readily transferable skills in management, technology or science. There many new avenues to network with your peers at meetup, seminar and events. The days of studying an MBA to the network are long gone |
