Good game. We controlled the tempo and defence did well. Please, Pepe is getting frustrating by the week. I don't wanna sound as if I'm too complaining but I dunno weda he's still short in confidence or he lacks the skills and decision making for a top club. I dunno if any one noticed, but I think our transition from midfield to attack is slow and not quick enough. Also, ceballos is a great addition to the midfield, but I feel he gives a lot of back passes and side passes, and somehow delays much on the ball(not like guen tho).... Just my observation, not only in this game, but also against Everton too. Mari is a great addition to the defence. Good we have 2 ball playing cb in the team Shout out to Leno too. He's outstanding. Hoping we get a positive result against Manchester city. |

Jodera:That idiot is getting annoying by the day, he should fvck off already. I hate his body language in games this was the main reason people critised ozil this one will just be strolling on pitch doing nothing |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jodera: 7:11pm On Mar 07, 2020 |
iamoyindamola:At least, we see moments of creativity with ozil. But Pepe? Hmm. You can't count on him for goals, you can't count on him to create chances(except if he does those his crosses once in a while). It's really frustrating, to beat man one on one now don turn waec, and even if he does, he'll still come back to re-dribble the guy just to enter his left leg. He's really frustrating Mehn!! |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by BlueRayDick: 7:14pm On Mar 07, 2020 |
Jodera: I honestly do not agree with Ur submission on Ceballos. He only holds on to the ball when Pepe refuses to make a run on the wings. I mean you don't expect him to pass the ball to an empty space. Ordinarily Ceballos would've passed the ball to an open space while pepe would be expected to make a run for the ball, but pepe has proven to be a player who likes to wait for the ball. He just won't move without the ball at his feet. This can be frustrating for a midfielder born and bred in Spain who has seen how dem Xavi, Iniesta play the ball into open space while Dem David villa and Pedro make a run for it. Ceballos is miles apart from Guendouzi who recycles possession. Ceballos mostly wants to engage in forward play( this u can tell from some of the balls he gives away in a bid to locate a player hiding in-between defenders). About two to three times in this match Xhaka was in a position to make defence-splitting pass forward he ended up messing it up. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jodera: 7:23pm On Mar 07, 2020 |
BlueRayDick:yeah, I know he's miles better than guen, that's why I added he's a good addition to our midfield. I think I'll watch more of him to really ascertain my observation from him. I was expecting those long range passes as you said...but like you said, Maybe Pepe is the cause of him not giving those passes |

Ceballos at a point was the only creative person in the midfield, was the only defensive midfielder . We better secure that dude, Ozil is aging fast, we need to accept life without him next season because he will not play much even if he is not sold |

Good game, we played westham without any natural fullbacks and we still came out on top. ....hopefully we start our natural fullbacks against city on Wednesday The summer should come quickly so that all those shameless agbayas can leave the club. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Nobody: 3:00pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
Jodera:Didn't watch the match but I feel playing a CB behind him doesn't help matters! An inside forward like Pepe must have a good connection with the overlapping full back behind him... He formed a good partnership with Celik at Lille and have been playing with duds since he arrived here! He starts running with the ball and the supposed full back just backs him and watch him dribble past two or more players before anything can happen... I'll be frustrated if I was in his shoes, Arteta isn't helping him either by prioritizing only our left side of attack! |

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Nobody: 3:54pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
iamoyindamola:Because Bellerin has been instructed not to overlap... If Arteta prioritize that right side the way he did for the left, Pepe would be having better performances! All he does nowadays is stick to the right side to give us width and not drift into the middle like an inside forward he is... |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 5:14pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
Dreamswayne:Pepe's problems was that he had only Ozil to exchange with as Socrates refused to overlap. With two lefties on the right it was difficult to beat their man. It was actually a waste of one player as far as I am concerned. Arteta should have either allowed the RB to overlap for more width or play with a right legged winger. He did the latter at the later part of the match but it was too late already. |

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Jodera: 6:41pm On Mar 09, 2020 |
Dreamswayne:You're making good sense tho. But the difference btw him and auba is that he can play the wing role more than auba, that's why the left back is helping auba in attack so that to he can cut in. Pepe he is believed can beat his man one on one, but he hardly does that effectively. Aside our last game in which a cb was by his side, most games bellerin do help him, he doesn't still perform as expected. His decision making is mostly poor also, and he tends to over dribble. Our attack do go through his wing too, but mostly the wing isn't that efficient |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 7:44pm On Mar 09, 2020 |
Jodera:Pepe lacked space to play. His exchanges on the right with Socrates was poor because Sok wasn't overlapping. Ozil later moved to the left to help him, but it didn't work because both of them were cutting in with none to cross, this clogged up the right wing and little chances were created. When Nelson was introduced, Ozil moved away from the left and started making runs through the centre which added more bodies in the box. If Bellerin had started his runs behind the defence would have created more space for Pepe. |

I watched the Manchester Derby and the only thing I saw in that game was passion and desire from manu Tactics counted for nothing but a will to do whatever it takes not to lose to city was all I saw. I really hope we can see such from our lads going into the game against city even though I doubt it. Sometimes tactics count for nothing if the desire to win at all cost matching the opponent stride for stride and winning all the 50/50 challenges and giving them little or no time on the ball is not done. Unfortunately I really do not see those attributes often in our players and unless they put that into play coupled with the tactical understanding the manager is drilling into them, then we may win lower opposition but still lose woefully to the top guns. I'm even skeptical of our chances against Sheffield in the fa cup because Sheffield are a well drilled team. And their players have passion in them to go out and do whatever it takes to win. We really need our team Phycologist to help this team understand that winning should be a habit and losing should not be an option against any opposition. The game against westham could have gone south if West Ham converted their chances and to think we were at home. I can't fault the manager here because its glaring what he his trying to instill but seems some of our personell are not good enough to execute. I really just hope we can make top four but more optimistic about the next season where arteta can get funds to bring in his own type of players and a full pre-season. All in all hoping we can do well on Wednesday and the rest of the season |

Jencejyde: Bro, I sweriGod you sabi.. This is/has been my feel on this team. I saw utd did same at Etihad and on Sunday, utd do not have players or tactics to down city, rather it was the super electric energy that did it... The utd defenders were physical, brave and never giving up. Matic was another gigantic figure blocking everything.. All could be because its a derby, and Arsenal does same most times against spurs.. But generally, this team is characterized with soft, Slow, weak, lazy and too one footed players I don't trust our defence coping with City's forwards energy and pace.. They will be too fast and strong for us.. Have we not seen Sokratis,Luiz and Xhaka against fast energetic inteligent players? Expect errors, penalty and fouls from them. Utd weren't that spectacular but the will to win won it, and that's same with Sheffield, ( very daring and willing to do it). There's little to what Arterta or any coach can do, it will always bounce back to the coach anyways, Didn't we see high pressing in Enemy's first few games? It died off, now its happening again. The players want to do it the easy way, this isn't 2012, French ligue or bundesligdown Its either they aren't willing to do it or naturally lack that desire. Maybe a psychologist can help address it,but It will take tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime and fans no get chill, all will be bounced on the coach again. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Spy360(m): 8:36am On Mar 10, 2020 |
Jencejyde:You must understand that every game is unique and passion will vary. For example you cannot compare the passion against Spurs to when we play Burnley. In fact it will take a lot of inner strength to find passion against such teams. That's why it's said that some players are big game players it's because that's the kind of matches they easily express their passion. Same reason why Man Utd can lose to small teams but beat City and Chelsea hone and away. Don't worry our boys will find the passion needed to face City. It's an away game so there will be a lot of pressure from City. But with Arteta I believe we will find the grits to get something out of the game. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Fkhalifa(m): 8:41am On Mar 10, 2020 |
An intelligent fan opined below.. The problem is that most of the players are not suited for the EPL because of the intensity and pace of the games in the EPL. This players would flourish in a lesser league. That is why we should always scout and buy players who’s natural way of playing is intensity and pace. By so doing, we’ll have the type of players that are suited to the EPL with little or no adaptation period ela Alex Sanchez. South Americans and Africa most times parade this type of players.. I believe Doucoure,Ndidi,Ake,Grealish,Zaha,Cantwell, Richalison,Diogo jota et Al will adapt faster.. Players outside England like Thomas Partey,Douglas Costa, Inaki Williams, Nabil Fekir will suit English football.. The scouts should look into players of that frame instead of Sexy London boys, old rejects, deadwood from rivals, injury prones and cheap loan deals. |

Lmao! Look at all this Gayner fans attributing United's win to zero tactics and 100% passion. I am not sure you guys watched the match. United played a 3-5-2 formation with two fast split attackers. The main idea was to defend robustly with Matic and Fred screening the centre of the defence. Speedy James was played on the right side of the attack to enable him trouble the much slower and rash Zichenko and Otamendi respectively. Bruno was giving a free role in the midfield to enable him play Martial or James on goal. Maguire was also given the license to step out of defence to enable him stay close to Aguero, in this scenario Matic would always drop deep to cover the space left by Maguire. Saying we had zero tactics is just unfair. When Mahrez came on and started raping young Brandon Williams, We had to move Shaw to LB and Bailly as a Sub to CB. McTominay was also brought in for Martial to break play up and pack the midfield. When we didn't have an outlet to play over the top, Ighalo was brought in. Are all this not tactics. How can a team beat the opponent 3 times with the same formation and tactics and you guys are still saying the team had no tactics and the victories were as a result of passion is baffling. |
