2001 QX4. Jerks at first gear only. It doesn't happen if I accelerate hard but surely happens if I drive normally. Immediately it enters second gear, rpm sharply rises to 2,500 and quickly returns to normal. Car will continue to drive okay until the next braking when it will return to first gear.
NB: If I accelerate hard and push down the gas on all gears, they work perfectly

My 2007 Bank type Corolla was having a hard start and I changed fuel pump at mechanic's suggestion. Now the hard start remains though not as much as before.

Please advice.

Sometime ago November to be precise. My 1998 CRV was jerking while accelerating. I went to 2 mechanics and both confirmed that my fuel pump was bad. So I changed the fuel pump, it didn't take 30mins b4 the fault reappeared. Finally I changed the fuel filter, o boy! If u see the dirt coming out of my filter.... at that point I told them to service the injector nozzles. After that my car performed better than when I bought it, the movement was formula 1 standard

How about starting with cleaning of the IACV (idle air control valve) it's mounted beside the throttle body which is on the intake manifold and your throttle body is cable operated.

Notice that sensor indicated with the orange colour arrow? That's it. Usually, kazeem do block a valve hole with piece of rag or paper or polyethylene. All you needed to do was get a proper cleaner to clean it after opening it, after you're done cleaning it, recouple it back properly.

But don't you think you want to trade safety for fancy? Your rear lamp reflection will be compromised. Someone bashing into you may not be at fault.

Best thing to happen to me. Currently use one and wife uses another.

Maintenance is basic like any other car.

I sold 4 last year all doing well, sourced for 5 and supplied this year all doing fine and inspected 3 on behalf of clients and they are all doing well, no major parts replaced just basic servicing .
