As a Liverpool supporter(not a die hard fan), I'll tell you football happened.
The players gave it all, intensity was top notch..
It was more of Adrian's error and Oblak's brilliance.
If we'd lost to olympiacos in this fashion, it'll be understandable as part of football.

Every Liverpool players aside Adrian gave a B+ performance, it wasn't just going to be their day.

United played a 3-5-2 formation with two fast split attackers. The main idea was to defend robustly with Matic and Fred screening the centre of the defence. Speedy James was played on the right side of the attack to enable him trouble the much slower and rash Zichenko and Otamendi respectively. Bruno was giving a free role in the midfield to enable him play Martial or James on goal.

Maguire was also given the license to step out of defence to enable him stay close to Aguero, in this scenario Matic would always drop deep to cover the space left by Maguire.

Saying we had zero tactics is just unfair. When Mahrez came on and started raping young Brandon Williams, We had to move Shaw to LB and Bailly as a Sub to CB. McTominay was also brought in for Martial to break play up and pack the midfield. When we didn't have an outlet to play over the top, Ighalo was brought in. Are all this not tactics.

How can a team beat the opponent 3 times with the same formation and tactics and you guys are still saying the team had no tactics and the victories were as a result of passion is baffling.

I saw V.dijk and Gomez mostly at center midfield.Others were high up.
Only Henderson is a DM, Winaldum is box to box, very good at defending, transitioning and attacking.
Oxlade does more of attack than defending.

The only person that fücked up ystdy was only Adrian at a critical moment. Before then, athletico was toothless and even their defensive masterclass wasn't so evident yesterday.

My own be say the midfield was their strength and any loss in shape them go chop am, they kept yapping VVD upandan and comparing him with a Mustafi that was regularly bombarded while playing behind a midfield partnership of Guen/Xhaka that would easily go down as the worst midfield partnership of all time.

Salah and Mane missed chances, they created chances and they tried their best. All was undone by just a stupid moment of Adrian. The attack was perfect, oblak was just too great. Yes they crossed, but that's what is expected wen it team parks d bus. But even at that, salah and chamberlain was still doing damages, in terms of breaking 18 and outside the ball shot. Everything was under control until Adrian happened

if you can dig, dig my post, esp the Chelsea first leg. I blamed Leno for the loss, and even guendouzi sef for the 2nd goal(he was escorting willian). I don't think I blamed mustafi for the 2nd goal, or that much. My anger that day was on Leno, cos that error deflated our players, and that's why the 2nd goal happened.

Liverpool defence b4 VVD was shambolic, they concede goals left right and center. Yes their attack was scoring, but defence was woeful. Always Liverpool guys hated lovren and matip was branded a flop then. Then VVD arrived and their defence turned for good. One thing with VVD is that he's good at organizing defence. With guen and xhaka in midfield and VVD and let's say chambers or holding at the back, we'll concede but not as much we're conceding normally.
Also, I know Gomez and matip massively improved with the arrival of VVD.
So yes, our defence would have improved. But would he had gotten the hype he's getting now at Liverpool if he's in arsenal.

Felix, did a 1 time pass to llorente. Who in turn did a one time touch to take a shot and score the goal. All was done within split seconds. I dunno how that wasn't Adrian fault. That was very severe. I didn't watch their fa cup so I can't comment on that. But you see this particular own? Even klopp that's known to defend his players publicly still blamed Adrian.

Man u have had good defence since. They don't too concede goals like that, it's just their attack that was floundering that's why it seems their defence was bad. Check their goals conceded per match and you'll see it's not so bad, but of course, wen attack is bad, you'll think defence too is bad

In our case our defence was regularly bombarded right from the sound of the whistle, the midfield of Xhaka, Guen and Willock didn’t shield the defence neither was it helping the attack. That’s the difference yet guys always blamed the defence particularly picking on Mustafi.

Ask yourself why mustafi is always singled out
He does errors that even amateur footballer might not even think of doing. We keeping offside line, hr strays and breaks the line, thereby keeping opposition player onside.
He makes error leading to goals, that's crucial against our teams. In fact so many errors he commits. There's a reason even rival fans laughs at us about mustafi, just as we normally laugh man u guys about Jones.

Well, he's improving and I hope he maintains his form. I remembered how monreal was once like him(derided and mocked too, and every blame in defence was on him), but b4 he left us he turned things around and became our best and consistent left back. I hope mustafi becomes like that too.
