hole punch, dot hole, infinity O and cut out mean the same thing. It's not about center or side placement. It's about whatever the Manufacturer wants to call theirs

Nope. Cutout is less specific and refers to any kind of intrusion into the screen estate housing sensor(s). The rest specifically mean a circular cutout

Is there any reason to upgrade ?

I found the camera comparison funny. You compare cameras strictly based on megapixels and come out with a winner? The iPhone 11 pro max has a 12mp rear camera!

For the processors, you didn't let your readers know that the Helio G90T runs on a 12nm process. So yeah, while it has a more powerful GPU and so better suited for hardcore mobile gaming, it is less efficient (more likely drain your battery and heat up). It's for this reason that Redmi had to include liquid cooling in the Redmi Note 8 pro.

Also for connectivity, you conveniently left out the part where the Note 9 pro has a 2x2 MIMO on the WIFI as well, and not just on 4G.

In addition, the SD720G and Helio G90T are both built using the same high performance Cortex A73 cores and even the same core big.LITTLE arrangement of 2:6 (heavy duty/light cores) but the SD720G has a higher clock speed which may be a deal breaker when running high CPU tasks like video encoding or virtual/augmented reality apps.

In the GPU section, the G90T issa clear winner.

The camera is a bit of a grey area for me sha but both look to be on par and it's the OEM that can make use of their capabilities

As for connectivity, 720G has WiFi V6 as well as the the NaviC whilst G90T has no NaviC and is stuck on WiFi 5. Also on AI, the 720p came with a Hexagon DSP but Mediatek are silent on if the G90T has AI capabilities or not.

Is that enough reason to upgrade. The choice is yours?

You still have a long learning process before you can make valid comparisons.

Apart from what others have pointed out here is another scenario from your post

"Software
The Redmi Note 9 Pro runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10 while the Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9."

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is currently on MIUI 11 and it is going to have Android 10 (Some regions are already getting it in form of pilot testing).

If you had said the RN9 Pro is more likely to get Android 11 whilst the RN8 Pro might not then you score a point. But software comparison is deeper than just MIUI Version and Android Version, other things like optimization, fluidity etc are there and can't be judged without handling both phones.

DSP is Digital Signal Processing; it is not related to AI capability at all. It revolves around photography

Very correct. That is why some SoCs handle some sensors better than others

My bad. I meant to write to SDK instead na DSP show for the brain.

Thanks for the correction.

Artificial intelligence (AI)
MediaTek didn’t give much thought about AI when they developed the G90T. There is no specific optimization made for AI and even there is not a dedicated APU in the G90T. Whereas, the Snapdragon 720G comes with flagship-grade Hexagon 692 DSP. It has Qualcomm’s All-ways aware technology and even has a dedicated neural processing SDK. So it is quite obvious that Qualcomm wins the battle in this department as there is nothing om offer frim G90T in terms of AI.

Your system uses part of your memory and those parts aren't accessible, it has been that way from time immemorial

Actually, the Hexagon 692 DSP is part of Qualcomm's AI Engine.

The Helio G90T, the SD720G, and the SD730G all use 2 high performance cortex A76 cores and 6 power efficient cortex A55 cores. The cortex A76 cores are clocked highest in the SD720, while the cortex A55 cores are clocked highest in the Helio G90T.
