lol, not only Yorubas, I am sure it is popular in some parts of Ebonyi and abia states because of the availability of that particular yam.
Ohh i see,bt seems it is used for something different because some igbos here don't know what it is grin

cheesy Maybe because it's my first time then, but the vibe I got was that of akara o... with enough pepper, onion and only God knows anyother thing she added.

Please share recipe and step by step process so bae can pick up and surprise me....grin I know she will definitely come across it whenever she is here.
i cut into pieces like yam then wash it after that i used my manual grater nd blend in a bowl i pour my pepper salt nd onions, mixed it together nd fried it.
In case you need detailed procedure let me know, please make sure you use the smallest round grater hole.

Lol, Some eat it like normal yam.

Most people born in this modern day in my area won't know.

Then, those that grew up far away from home won't as well. I even got to know about the yam through a friend from Ebonyi state years ago. you can only see the yam inside inside rural markets sometimes.

Let me ask, can normal yam be used in place of that special yam?.

I think ojojo originated from the Ijebus. Not everyone will bother to go through the process of making it because the yam is available.
You have to grate the yam into a paste, then add your ingredients and start frying
It's been decades I had it, but I know the taste.
Good.

Funny enough, I have heard ojojo but never tasted it and never knew they sell it the way they sell akara. Like you said, it may be location soecific.
You should eat it once bro smiley smiley, although one gets fed up easily with it than Akara, and it's not necessary you buy it, you can make it yourself if you follow Pettyprincess recipe lol, you should really try it.

Finger nail? Lol, no worries.

Cool one, don't know much about water game, seems it's too soft to go with plastic grater?

It's almost the same texture with yam so you can either use plastic or stainless grater.
