Most importantly, Lagos state government through lastma should tell all public commuter buses in Lagos to start carrying only 3 passengers as against 5 passengers on a seat row. And Nigerians using these transport services should help the government to enforce this 3-passenger per row on a bus and 2 passengers for keke, don't wait for government, don't allow any drive carry more than 3 passengers on one seat row, people help yourselves enforce it and drivers will have no option but to comply!


This is where the government should focus on because Nigeria's poor public transport will be the hub of transmission of this virus in Nigeria, especially in Lagos state.

All hospitals should also provide full coverall for their health workers, government can assist them in getting the coveralls or subsidizing the price because there will soon be a surge of patients visiting Nigerian hospitals, especially those in Lagos and other top metropolitan cities in Nigeria

You are actually correct. Unless the markets are also shut, every other measure would be in vain. More people patronize markets than schools and even banks. They should announce to the public the date the shutdown would commence so that people would prepare. Nigerians are too lackadaisical about this virus and it is annoying. I was at the Lagos airport this morning to catch a flight and you need to see how people were behaving as if it is still business as usual. That experience was terrifying to me I swear. I have never been more scared of being in a crowd. I pity this country with the way we are treating this matter. Kudos to Obiano for taking this bold step but more needs to be done. This battle against COVID-19 will be a long one that will have a lot casualties.

Even countries facing the pandemic are not shutting down markets, pharmacy outlets and gas stations. You need to realize that visiting shops is voluntary, and one can stay back if he/she want. But doing that for schools will lead to failure of the the student.

It is people that will limit the way to go to shops and this will reduce the crowds there.
