2. That he tested positive you mean? Yes, they were almost tacit in that regard. But the other aspects of their reply to me, imply that if he was indeed +ve, they would have got NCDC to move him to the isolation and treatment centre in Yaba. In other words, the story of him being +ve is what they believe is concocted together with letting him go home like that.

The man cannot walk into LUTH today and ask for a test, it is not possible. He will be referred to the Infectious Disease Centre, they are the one that will decide whether he will get the test or not. If he test positive, he will be evacuated to Lagos State isolation center.

Covid-19 test is not like malaria test that you can just walk in and get.

" We tested 12 people in our infectious diseases lab on the 21st of March 2020 and of this 12 people just 2 people tested positive. These 2 have been transferred to NCDC isolation centre as required by protocol.....This young man's story is clearly concocted for reasons best known to him"

A statement like the above will show u LUTH is on top of their game and they keep a tab on those who test positive like u claim they do.

As regards the young man disclosing his identity, if u read the news report u will see why I said due to stigmatization that is rife in this part of the world, he doesn't want his identity revealed.

After they deem you eligible for the test, you head to LUTH with NCDC being kept in the information loop. If you are confirmed, then LUTH informs NCDC to move you to the isolation and treatment centre. There is no pressure on them (LUTH) because they will only attend to cases as directed by NCDC and LSMOH. And they are not designated for treatment so what will they gain by sending a confirmed case back home?

The level of incompetence is shocking. Only God knows the genuine amount of people with the virus in Nigeria. I am not comfortable with their level of testing.
