Since the investor who claimed to have received UBA dividend uses it; I'm trying to establish if there is a correlation. Maybe they paid their users in advance or something.

Please do more inquiry.
I need that money. grin

My Oga’s ,Happy weekend. Pls what’s your take on Nestle price if I want to purchase it at the current rate.Do u think the price will go lower given the economic situation and impending recession. Kindly advise me as I want to buy small unit . Thanks
Nestle traded at 700+ intraday.
About price going lower, it may or may not......but likely may go down a bit more.

To me, there's no good time to acquire nestle than now, it's such a rare opportunity that comes once in a while like this.........from 700+ but it's better to wait maybe it will get to 600+, that will be a good bargain. Purely my opinion.

Hope you still have your GTB, just keep it, you may add more if it goes lower again and, if you still have spare fund.

A certain global investment company have been trading peoples money and paying them dividend monthly for years. The way it works is that the trader takes 10% of whatever interest is generated monthly while either giving 90% pay out to the investor or reinvesting it depending on the choice of the client. But you people on nairaland always see a legit business and call it scam, yet when businesses like mmm came most people fell for it. We keep suspecting God but trusting satan wholeheartedly. The beauty of this business is that i don't need to invite anyone to make a dime from it. I have taken down all my ads here. You can't help Nigerians cos they always throw your opportunity back at your face. Na only alert pictures i go dey post soon. Your comment is the last straw, I now have a billion reasons why i can never show Nigerians the way to the top. No wonder when celebrities climb up they look down on people. If you were a professional like you claimed, they first thing you should have asked is how does it work, rather than commenting " See them", "Na dem", "They don come again ". I weep for this country. I am sorry i advertised here. Na my mistake be that. Biko don't be offended
Chief, you go wound ooo. Some of us have gone through this route before and we learnt our lesson the hard way. If truly you have a genuine mind to help Nigerians by investing in this high rated scam, you will blame your self and lose the respect of those that invested their hard earned money with you in few months to come. In my little experience in life, people can be sincere and be sincerely wrong even if you are Pastors or Chief Imams. In investment, nothing is guaranteed and a lot of sharks put there to prey on people's money. Go and read about Bernie Madoff's, even the so called "smartest" guys lost billions of $ to his ponzi scheme.

For me, I will ask for your investment horizon, long or short term? Based on previous (response), ask yourself this question; is Nestle plc liquid enough to get in and out as at when due?

As for the price, its a perfect opportunity on any value stock that has lost almost or more than 50% of its year-high.

NB. These are just my thoughts, not a recommendation to buy or sell

I’m looking at price appreciation and dividend as a long time investor for the Nestle say 15 to 30years holding period. grin
leo1234:

Depends on what you want.
For price appreciation, I think it is okay but for dividend yield the likes of UBA, Zenith, GTB,WAPCO etc are better.

I remember in 2016 when it dropped to N700 and was waiting for it to drop further before I enter the bus. I was disappointed. The rally was unbelievable as if the fpi guys were lurking around the corner to mop it at that price, coz the next I saw was that the bus had moved.

I agree with what you have said about the stock. Yours truly will pick some and buy more GTB on Monday insha Allah!

In other words, you can buy and sell it whenever you want provided you are willing to. Defensive as in, it can resist sell or buy pressure and maintain certain price level. I might be wrong though..

N.B. Not a buy or sell recommendation grin

Prof, in my layman's understanding, Nestle is a defensive stock.
In a situation where FPIs are involved and selling off, we don't expect Nestle to remain static and not partake in the price shedding.
One of the reasons could be attributed to FPIs having quite a large chunk of the total shares; remember Nestle is not even a Nigerian owned coy and has large number of expatriates, I stand to be corrected. grin
Aside, major panic selling such as the type witnessed this month, it can only take deep pockets to sell 100k block units that can either move the price up or down, which comes once in a while, thus making the stock to maintain its price for a long time even if it's trading at day's low/high intraday.
Just know that some may be watching it as a hawk as the price is going down and getting ready to take advantage of the low price to jump in or increase their stakes.
Nestle is equally a dividend stock, which entering it at low price is more advantageous in terms of price appreciation and dividends.
That's my opinion. smiley

Sir, I don't seems to understand the reason(s) why you single out Nestle when other good and fundamental stocks had also shed over 80 to 100% or more........which some "not so relevant" stocks didn't even shed.
Can we say the likes of GTB and Zenith are not defensive to some extents if not for the global pandemic that caused fear across board?
As for Nestle and all these other stocks, quite a lot will rather see it as an opportunity to either be a shareholder or to increase their stakes, at least for thosr that can still afford it.
Anyway, people will always have different views but Mr. Market will surely do what it will do at the right time in as much as NSE is not closing down. smiley

Over a period of when and when?
Remember some of the major holders didn't even buy at N200 or more than that. Na our Papas stock, grin lower price will only afford intending shareholders to also take position.

With Nestle in mind.If I have the option of buying Nestle or zenith with same amount. And in the future both stand to give equally capital appreciation and dividend yield. In as much as I will be having more quantity of zenith over Nestle because of price. Does it really have any advantage buying the one that will give me quantity over the other.Pls want other angle to the benefits of this quantity stuff

Sometimes it helps to do simple research using Google. We want to make money yet we are reluctant to invest in time..

We prefer others to point the way even when opportunities are staring at you in the face.. hmmm it is well.

At a time like this, I guess no one would risk his reputation and tell you what to do and risks backlash when the said stock heads the opposite direction.. which reminds me of the spirited myjoy08 in recent memory who championed the motivation for financial freedom (Buy! Buy!Buy! Buy!), and faced series of insults and abuse here after the market tanked.

He was not only psychologically broken, his monika was taken from him and might have forced him to seek safe haven in forex market

Pls you are the CEO of your portfolio, read whatever you see here, take your own decisions and do what is needful, don't blame it on anyone if it goes the other direction.

I wish you all greenish portfolios in both the short and long terms. We are making money this decade (modified from "we are making money this year " grin grin grin

Peace!

Looking @ the % of share prices that tanked on NSE from January to date, the only stock that looks defensive there now is FMN.
