Afenifere Faults Buhari’s Broadcast On COVID-19 by JosEast(m): 6:55am On Mar 31, 2020 |
Pan Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, yesterday faulted the timing of the lockdown announced by President Muhammadu Buhari, saying people should have been given a few days’ notice to prepare for the shutdown. “While we agree that a lockdown is necessary at this point, it should not have been done as if we were shutting down a barrack under 24 hours,” the group said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin. The group also picked holes in the president’s broadcast, saying the only thing new in the speech is the lockdown of Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory. Odunakin stated: “Afenifere has taken note of the overdue presidential broadcast on Covid – 19.https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/afenifere-faults-buharis-broadcast-on-covid-19-2.html 18 Likes

Anyone with half a brain knows Buhari's speech was watery and unsubstantial. Let's not deceive ourselves that corona hasnt already been contracted by the common man. Surely as God lives the virus would die in the persons body and nothing will happen. As of now na OYO things o 17 Likes |

If u want to know an irresponsible state look at Rivers state. Rivers state that right now is supposed to take advantage of this corona virus affecting Lagos to try to scale up economically. With the lockdown going on in Lagos. This would have been an opportunity for Rivers to receive attention from shipper's on its sea port. But Rivers no waste time. Them even shutdown before Lagos. 2 Likes |

Lol This are same people that have been literally begging for a lock down, now it is here they are complaining. Afenifere as a pan social group, can they make their contribution public, must we always complain in this country, do people even know what is called community effort, our high level of individuality will kill us before coronavirus. Afenifere get to work and lament later. 11 Likes 1 Share |

14 days fasting, eating once a day will not kill you. But getting infected with Covid-19 can kill you in 14 days no matter what you eat. Please lets just persevere. Soon 14 days will be over and hope a cure is discovered. Blame game will take us nowhere. 7 Likes |

Buhari have no fault because, locking down lag, fct and Ogun states was the right thing to do as at now but where I fault him is how can he lock down a state without putting money into each person's account so they can manage for 14 days Poor people that hardly feed themselves on a normal day how will they cope for 2wks Local man will be like 1 Like
