I've had 3 of them as neighbours at one point & they're the most disrespectful people you will ever have the displeasure to come in contact with. That's why they often live alone. When they come to a place, they want to take over. Simple communal washing line they want to hoard like it's theirs. Twice I almost exchanged blows with Somali women because of their territorial & entitled nature. They like to test people & when they see you're not a pushover, they "humble themselves"/back off. I kind of dislike the women, TBH. Ethiopians are easier to live with because they're sensible people, Somalis, on the other hand, you 1st have to be rude with them before they slink back to their lane.

OMG, how do you deal with it? Their many children are noisy too. We used to be woken up at 6 am even on weekends by a chorus of "Hoyo!". There was this one I kind of liked & got along with well. Her name was Hawa. So one day I asked her the meaning of "Hoyo". That's how I came to know it means "Mother". She, btw, was the only decent Somali lady I have ever met. We developed a sisterly bond, where she'd even leave her toddler with me when she was going somewhere, instead of leaving her with her stupid homegirls.
