raumdeuter:Bros how can the government order lock down without proper amenities to the people. No electricity since this lockdown has started we have been running generator atleast we can afford it what about others. Food :some people have to work before they can feed their families hunger will kill them before Coro get them. They have been talking about audio food since Monday until people die of hunger before the food get to them I just hope this lockdown won't result to stealing and breaking into people's home |

gensteejay: Where will Nigeria get test kits from at this time? If they don't have it in store before the outbreak. If you take 1million no one will sell to you In America, the few ones available the states are bidding among themselves so the highest bidder gets it New York being a richer state is offering to pay double Advanced countries with latest technology are crying imagine Nigeria that has neglected every sector of the economy for 50yrs and its time to pay for it, 1 Like |

Victornezzar: Do you know we have 5 testing lab in Nigeria before. Now they have set up the one in Abakaliki and have started working on testing lab in Kano, Kaduna, Port Harcourt, Maiduguri and the likes. You think it’s going to be easy to ramp up capacity with about 12 billion Naira that was donated? Do you even know how much it will cost in $? We need so much more than what we have currently. Even if you have the money, where will the supply come from? Even the Almighty US had to invoke the Defense Production Act to force GM to start making ventilators. It’s that bad all over the world. |

raumdeuter: All my working days for the last 2 weeks have been spent looking for where to purchase PPE from 8am to 10pm everyday. Slowly I have managed to buy thousands of FFP3 masks, Surgical masks, Goggles and lenses, Face shields, Isolation gowns, fit-test machines etc. Where I am still struggling funny enough is Alcogels, and was struggling with FFP3 until I managed to find a few reliable sources. That is just Supplies. I am hearing there is even bigger problem with Pharmacy guys who are struggling to get Propofol etc |

iamoyindamola: There is already a breakdown of law and order in parts of Southern Italy( the poorer half of Italy). People have started starving over there. However the government can’t magically take a few days to fix all the problems that we have had as a country for decades. If you want the government to fix poverty, poor electricity, corruption, lack of good facilities in 1 week before we go on lockdown, you are on a long thing. The question is simple. Do you want disease or do you want starvation? 1 Like |

obainojazz: Embrace technology? You think the problem is those who have white collar jobs? There are people who survive with what they earn daily. Food vendors, hawkers, cobblers and the rest. How will these people survive? We cannot just copy the idea of lockdown because 'Everybody is doing it'. I just pray this 2 weeks flattens the curve. If not, people will begin to come out to survive. Maybe na this lockdown go start the revolution sef |

iamoyindamola: Lets be honest, how much food can the govt procure that will go round the populace, how much will it cost them? They cannot feed even 10% of the population while still providing healthcare at the same time Please tell what would have been your own solution with figures. You are there and you know better than me Lagos with 20m people for example. How should Sanwoolu approach it |

izzou: That’s the idea, to flatten the curve and stop the fast spread of the virus. I have said at this period, what govt needs is advise and alternatives on what to do. Lagos State govt says they are partnering with food vendors from Mike 12 and the likes to start an app where you can order for food stuffs and it get delivered to your house. They have also launched the food market farm using schools in areas. What are the better alternatives, please share. |

izzou: In America they are breaking new death records everyday before I went to sleep last night it was 850 which broke Tuesdays record, Tuesday broke Monday record and they say the worst is yet to come States like Florida that refused to lockdown early and still had their beaches and normal life running 2 weeks ago are the next in line Lousiana that hosted Mardi gras festival is also getting ready to be the next hotspot Unfortunately most of these states are not as rich as New York. If American president is predicting 250k deaths what should Nigeria get ready for? Positive news afrodoc I heard the TB vaccine that all babies born in Nigeria take might give us some form of immunity. I am not sure o |

larride: The government needs to assume the responsibility of the people now. That's basically what this means If the curve doesn't flatten, what happens? You lock them up for another two weeks again? And won't people pay for the food stuffs that will be ordered? How will they pay when they don't work? We have local governments. They can detect where they have more concentration of the poor ones. They could give them stipends daily, or feed them once or twice a day. This is the time for every politician to suspend his stealing tactics and face reality. This lockdown, if elongated, will result to something worse than what we have now If the government won't assume the responsibility of providing for the citizens, especially the poor ones, then we better get ready for chaos. It's inevitable 5 Likes |
