knightF: Don't bother to assess with Vetassess. You need a Bachelor's degree to assess for HR occupations and your 4 year degree from EKSU is not a Bachelor's degree AQF. Keep your money and try other countries or means of migration |

What year is your Masters Degree? Also, you did not mention your BSc degree as well. Let's have the school & course of study, number of years it took to finish the course and year of graduation. Please what's the average time you've had to wait to get your Vetasses evaluation report. -about 10 working days if you applied for priority pressing. Will cost you about $1500 -between 13-15 weeks if you opted for normal processing. Will cost you about $900 Please what should i look out for? -Your job description. You have to make sure it's in line with Anzsco job description for your nominated occupation. june24: |

Can't find Seafarer on ANZSCO list. I'll advice you go though the list and check if any occupation is related to what you do. If your occupation or closely related occupation is not on ANZSCO list, there's no way you can do assessment and subsequently, you'll have to look for other means of migration. Gidobaba: |

ajayidebo: Thanks for your response. I'm an Engineer on the ship and I checked the list and found "Ship's Engineer" with the code 231212. However it shows I'm only eligible for visa class 482, 187, 494. Basically my job on the ship is Electrical/Electronic Engineering. When I put Electrical Engineering on the ANZSCO i found out that I'm eligible for all visa classes. What do you advise? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by ajayidebo: 6:57pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
I asked for your BSc info to know whether it will be applicable for your occupation. If it was, you will be able to gain more points from your years of experience. In this case, your BSc is not applicable. You can use your Masters alone to assess with VETASSESS. However, your 6 years of experience will be reduce to < 2 years (i.e. No points for experience), counting from the day you completed your Masters degree. Please find the answers to the questions you asked me. Masters degree graduation year = 2018 ( 2011 - 2013) Bachelors = Agricultural Economics. Lautech. ( 5 years) But i don't use want to use my bachelors degree. Is it okay to just submit the masters?

|

You've done your homework. If you can prove that your job description is that of an Electrical Engineering, go for it. Mind you, letter of appointment, promotion letters, reference letter etc. are required to prove this. Also, EA may or may not contact your employer to verify accordingly. Let me add that the fact that you work on the ship as an engineer makes you a SHIP engineer and not an Electrical Engineer. I may be wrong tho. I'll advice you contact EA via msa @ engineers Australia. org. au for further clarification. Other experts should advice @bellong @tunlex01 Gidobaba: |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 12:59am On Mar 29, 2020 |
Gidobaba: Look at both electrical and electronics engineering qualification to identifying which matches your job descriptions more. You can apply for what matches your job descriptions more out of the two. You don't need to send email to EA. The assessment is based on your job descriptions and not necessarily the work environment. You should have requested for a remark of your writing. Very close to a 20 point score except for the writing. |

bellong: Thanks for your response. I didn't take the IELTS test seriously because I felt it was too easy as I have so much confidence in my English. However, I made a few mistakes in my writing task 2. I believe the 7.5 I got in writing is fair enough to be honest. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by june24: 1:20pm On Mar 29, 2020 |
Hello @ajayidebo thanks please indulge me on more time. I was thinking since i finished my Masters in Feb 2013. I get points for 1.5 years ( March 2014 - Oct 2014). Since it's a ten year work period they are assessing my job description can get me full points for 2017 till date. If am not getting points for experience then maybe i should save the money meant to Vetassess and look towards another country. What do you think? ajayidebo: |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by ajayidebo: 2:27pm On Mar 29, 2020 |
Now I'm confused. What year did you finish your Masters, 2013 or 2018? Also, have you completed any of the visa test point calculator? If not, do that here https://www.anzscosearch.com/points-test/. From what I've gathered so far, this is what you have. You should complete the rest. Age: 25 points Martial status: English: Your current English result is 0 point Education: (Masters) 15 points Years of Exp: ? Occupation: HR Adviser Visa Type 491: 15 points As it stands you have 55 points Just so you know, you can get 20 points for Test of English if you are able to get 8 in all bands for IELTS and 79 for PTE. single 10points, if you are married, your spouse can give you additional 5 points with English or 10 points with English & Assessment. Potentially, you can max 80/85 points without work experience. To the best of my knowledge, States like SA requires 85 points for 491, while NSW & VIC requires 5 years work experience with minimum of 65 points. Can't say more until you have an idea of your maximum points base on the year you completed your Masters. june24: |

Your chances seems alright base on states offering nomination for your occupation. However, your assessment on the other hand is another thing. I'd suggest you go through http://www.lpab.justice.nsw.gov.au/Pages/admission-overseas-lawyers/admission-overseas-qualified-lawyers.aspx They are the assessor for your occupation. They also have English requirements as well. So, digest as much information on how to proceed with the assessment. I hope their procedure is straightforward and doable. Your spouse should write Test of English as well. You need all the points you can get. Good luck. lowsugar: |

Your chances are really good. You and your spouse should do assessment. With these, you'll gain maximum partner point and also any of you can be the main applicant for your occupations. Haven't said that, I'd advice you find someone that has gone through HRM assessment with AIM for guidance. Your spouse occupation as Spatial Scientist is under VETASSESS. Their process is quite straightforward and the MSc from Ibadan is 2008 will do just fine. Just make sure the work experience and job description is verifiable and matches that of ANZSCO. Every other information can be found on your assessor's website. In addition, your occupations are both available for nomination by various states, some with caveat base of type of Visa class. You should try and see how much points your spouse as main applicant can gather on https://www.anzscosearch.com/search/. If he can get 20points from English Test, it will really do your guys a great deal to apply for either 189 or 190. His occupation is available for 189, 190 (Both permanent residence) as well as 491 (Provisional visa) Goodies1: |

It's the same link http://www.lpab.justice.nsw.gov.au/Pages/admission-overseas-lawyers/assessment-skills-and-qualifications.aspx . What you need is to apply for assessment. Better still, get their email and contact them for further clarifications and how to go about it.

Good evening everyone! Trust we're taking precautions and staying safe A quick question please: We applied for Visa 190 NSW since early November 2019. We haven't heard ANYTHING from them, no CO contact; absolutely nothing. This is early April (about 5 months after) and we're wondering. We suspected all processing was put on hold due to COVID-19 but noticed ITAs are still going out. Any advice or suggestions please. Thank you! PS: Total Points - 85 |

What I've learnt from various people that has gone through this process is that patience is key. I'm not qualified to actually respond to your question cus we are also expecting. All I can say is that; we just have to wait, trust God and in the end everything will be just fine. OmenaVI: 1 Like |

Goodies1: If you have to be the principal applicant, you will need to proof to the assessing body that you work in the capacity of a manager with departments reporting to you. It is the only way that you can get positive outcome. You also have to be reporting directly to the MD. Aside your husband's age, he doesn't have any issue. He will be fine. |
