koyyes: He should stop visiting those very cheap saloon in the hoods, He should apply warm water in a clean towel to the affected area some minutes before going to get a hair cut and he should do same after having a hair cut. He should apply Neo-medrol to the affected morning and evening for about 4 days after having a hair cut. Aloe vera works too. He should get his own clipper . 1 Like |

The reason why it spreads and grows bigger on you and everyone that has it is because u kept scratching it at the early stage. It usually comes out as one bump, like pimple and it keeps giving this sensation to scratch. The moment u do, it starts spreading/growing. |

Ozid:Bro, i know exactly what your bro is passing through because I've been down that road before. What he's got there is a very stubborn rash caused by infected ingrown hairs also known as folliculitis. I've read people's suggestions here but will tell u what i used personally to get rid of it. The most effective treatment for it is by direct injection of Kenalog. Kenalog injection will get rid it of permanently but must be injected directly on the rashes one after the other. So look for a good nurse or doctor who will administer the injection. The drug can be found in any good pharmacy and goes for about 2k or 3k per bottle. I will stop here for now but don't hesitate to reach out to me incase of any other information. Don't worry your bro will get his groove back sooner than later. Cheers! 2 Likes |

Affamefuna:I'm not interested in either...I was just tryna update you on the price..funny enough..during my uni days, I used to buy neo medrol for #750-#800... Neo presol was less effective and cheaper then. I used both on beard aftershave bumps. |

Ozid: Mckoll is the simple solution to his problem, mine was worst but I bought this cream N2,000 from a Nairalander and all my misery disappeared. I have also used it on a very stubborn ringworm which afflicted my son and it worked like magic. My wife is a medical doctor but she has so much respect for this drug. You can thank me later. Please don't go for any injection as it may worsen the matter.

johnpablo541: Yes, getting his own clipper is the best. The reason why I suggested salicylic acid is that it will kill any existing bacteria and gradually shed off that layer of skin that is infected, a new skin will then be formed...leaving no room for reinfection. That's why some skin medications contain the acid. I don't know if neo medrol contains salicylic acid. |

This is coming from someone who has the same problem. I developed it sometime around 2015 after a visit to a barber shop. Since then, I have tried the following: - Aloe vera - Neo medrol - Shear butter - Coconut oil They did not work. It only seemed like it reduced but there were resurgences after a while. So I stopped applying anything on it for years. Since I got it, I only used my own clipper. Last December, I visited a dermatologist who said that he'll give me a series of injections over a period of 3 months that'll dry it up and prevent it from spreading, but won't clear it. He quoted 90k so I did not proceed with it as I felt it was too expensive, considering the hospital I went to and its location. I had planned to go visit another dermatologist with the hope that I'll get a cheaper treatment for it. I never eventually did. When I traveled for the Christmas break, my sister who deals in Longrich products suggested I try the toothpaste on it. I did, applying it everyday after I had my bath. This reduced it to some extent. I applied it continuously for about 2 weeks. This was not a problem because I was indoors during that period. However after the Christmas break, I had to return to work and I could not continue applying it, especially when I needed to go out as the entire base of my head looked white as a result of the application. After I stopped applying the toothpaste, I started applying a cream which my dad got for me. I've attached an image of the cream to this post. This seems to have drastically reduced it. I've also attached an image showing what the back of my head/neck looks like now. I'm not saying that this is the treatment for it. From my findings so far, it isn't an infection, but it is what is formed due to the hair growing inwards into the skin rather than outwards in the affected area after you get a shave. I doubt there's a cheap treatment for it and it may require undergoing some sort of surgery to treat it permanently. 1 Like

Ozid As I've earlier encouraged, simply buy EndixG and apply it. That's what I used and it's super effective. It's also very mild on the skin. |

I have this same predicament. 1. You need your own clipper 2. Stop cutting your hair very low, make sure the barber never shapes the back of your hair. 3. Moisturize your hair with baby oil, or that area with shea butter. What you is a sensitive skin, and all those bumps are caused by ingrown hairs. You can buy Neo Medrol and apply to that place or any other bump stopper medication. I wont advise you to go on skincut cos that means you will have to be having shaving like everyday. If you can keep up to that, no wahala. Ozid: |

I have the same problem, what I did is that I use perfume to cure it, if i open the affected place with my finger,i will apply perfume to it and it will dry up. Though it will still return after longer period of time and I will use the same method on it again in fact is part of me now . |
