Wapco reached 12.90 but some itchy fingers sold 12.65 at the last minute.

What a week!
We look forward to a repeat of green next week, God willing. grin

On WAPCO, my FVE using a blend of appropriate valuation model pegs @ N28.65.
...which projects an approx 143% discount(potential price appreciation) from the current mkt price of N11.80 !!

And for a stock with an EPS of N7.15 at present, don't rule out the possibility of a further 80-115% gain from today's mkt price in the short to mid term.

Note that the thing about the one-off accrued gain/input from the recent sale of its South African business arm was raked-off/discounted before arriving @ that N28.65 valuation.

Again, yes, there'll be bumps(the result of intermittent profit taking) along the way, but forward we shall move !!

...that coy(WAPCO) will 'go places'. Another is UACN !!

To those in; HOLD !!
To those looking to align; ACCUMULATE !!

Time will help set matters straight and put them in their right perspective.

CAVEAT: NOT an investment recommendation.

Enough said.

Folks will recall this post !!

WAPCO is now a moving train.
...it freely drops on-board 'passengers' on its way, but forward, it moves !!

I have done several broad analysis and dig and I believe that this coy "will go places" in the mid to long term !!
Anyway, a good wine they say, needs NO bush.

I like the 3 heavyweights that officially joined the board just 24 hours ago.
Of the 3 though, I am particularly impressed with that of a former board member of MTN and ACCESS bank and current board member of NESTLE and BOD Chairman of OKOMU OIL and CFAO...

Something is happening. wink cheesy grin

By the way, Mr WAPCO closed the day @ N12.65(up by approx 7.2% gain from previous opening price) and also pegging closer to its 50 day SMA.
I'd wait out to see how smart those who sold today or ealier are, by Tuesday next week !!

It is well.

U can choose to key into UACN if it aligns with ur investment personality, strategy and goals.

SEPLAT is overvalued if you look at it's price on the LSE. the 100K requirement is what was saving it for a while.

I don't work for Morgan, I'm just a happy customer. I'll advise you to open your account with them. I funded my trading account at 10pm yesterday, by the time I woke up this morning, my trading account was already credited! As for Chaka, use them strictly for international stocks or alternative investment platform for local stocks.
this in mind,is it permissible/legal to operate more than two accounts with one clearing House number in NSE.

In retrospect I now believe Dangote wants Wapco Dead as the Battle for Ghana wages on, I believe he was brought in to see a way of Giving Dangote Cement breathing space in Ghana..... The Grinding facilities in Ghana has started operations and Both Dangote and wapco now export Clinker instead of Cement to Ghana........................................................Definitely having the two will do one Good.

Lafarge should put new clauses into the appointment letters of top executives, if you resign you can't join a rival company in the country until after 2 years.

But I'm equally wondering why this current bull is yet to reach it

I have a feeling that the new core investors of UACN group are cow boys, they are not different from those guys at Oando.

They are PE guys, they do financial engineering, restructuring , asset stripping and will later book profit.

They don't have any track records of running a business in the real sector or turning around any business .

They should have employed Mrs Lara Elemide as a non executive director of CAP Plc, this woman came on board when CAP Plc was less than N4.00 the company had a bonuses of 1 for 3, 1 for 3 and another 1 for 1 and the stock price still stood at N35.00 when the new core Investors of UACN came on board. I did an analysis some years back on how 100k Invested in CAP Plc grew to about N8 million within 15 years excluding the dividends.

While other subsidiaries of UACN we're struggling Mrs Lara Elemide made sure CAP Plc grew from strength to strength.

Under the new management of CAP Plc, staff cost went up by 40%, CEOs pay went up by over 200%,, profit went down.

And the first time in about 20 years shareholders will not be paid dividends. The retained earnings of the company also went down by over 10% between 2018 and 2019.

Corona virus happened in 2020, the dividend is for the financial year 2019. It is obvious the new management are not shareholder centric.

We are in a recession, they have not done much business in Q1, Q2 won't be different. People won't build houses during recession therefore demands will fall, demain for marine paints will also fall.

The dividend of about N2 billion which shareholders would have been paid will be used to maintain and pay, staff and management till 2021. Since what they have as retained earnings is a paltry N2 billion that is my own thinking, I might be wrong.

Concerning UNICO PFA, they have sold that subsidiary

The new core investors of UACN should have left good turnaround managers they met on ground at UACN eg Abdul Sule, Lara Elemide for about 2 years before retiring them and still have them as non executive directors for another 3 years.

Managing and growing a business is quite different from punching calculators, making projections and analyses which Private Equity investors are known for

@onegentleguy Please Sir can you give your view on the above? Pa Ewumi thinks the core investors will ravage the company and leave minority shareholders with the carcass.
@emmanuelewunmi Sir, can one take it that you will not recommend this stock going forward?

How will this current bull reach it?
Has uacn released any result?
Take a look at stocks currently doing well.
They all released good results and offer juicy dividends.

According to pa Emma,it's like the company is not going to pay any dividend this year.

It's just the unbundling stuff and result that can move it but until they announce.

Loco is also interested in the like of Uacn and caverton.Let them wait first till end of next week when we must have done our own part on the other side.
