All of us that followed from book1 n other books by silver know that he's like the Godfather he's writing about-Everyone is expendable. So we don't get too attached bc u'll be too shocked the day silver decides d character has to die.

And I was watching one stupid naija palace movie today, and I was just thinking about this story, why can't nollywood find this story, email the op, and act this thing.

STILL ON DAY 3





Aaron is moving to where Maria is like there's a hurricane inside him, moving like his brain is demanding the energetic expenditure of an athlete but won't tell his limbs what to do....

The thoughts about who could have dropped the paper in his bathtub accelerated in his head, he wanted it to stop to take a breather but it won't.., his breathe came in gasps and he was feeling like he'll black out but lucky for him he got to Maria before any of it could happen....

Maria eyes widened as she raised her gaze to face him....

"Leave us.."She said to the maids standing a few steps from her with a voice that clearly states she isn't happy with the way Aaron walked up to her......"What is this...?"She snapped returning her gaze to Aaron..

Heart throbbing, he drop the paper on the table in front of her..

She locked her gaze on him for a moment before bringing her eyes down to look at the paper...."What's this..?"She queried not bothering to read the words..

He swallowed forcefully, his body shaking in slow rhythm...

When he gave no reply, she shift back her gaze to the paper and eyes peered at the words.., fury hit her making her turn back immediately to see if the maids were still there...

"What is this...?"She snarled reverting her gaze to him...

His lips quivered as he try to fathom the terrific aura in form of the words in the paper...."I don't know.."He said, voice a bit shaking...

She read the words on the paper before she grabbed and squeezed it.....

"Someone knows you killed Joshua..."Aaron mutter

She glared at him and he flinched at the angry way her eyes were peering at him.....

"I know what it says.."She scowled..., fury hit her but she took a breathe to contain it refusing to let mere words shake her up from her comfort zone......

"It means nothing.."She added bringing down her voice...

His forehead creased as her words hit his ears..."Someone thinks I killed him, it means something..."

"Only three of us knew about this, you, me and my mother, I haven't told anyone about this and I so well know my mother didn't either, now that leaves you in the box..."

His brows furrowed at her reply...., he lean closer to her to ring the words loud in her ears...."I didn't tell anyone..."

"Who did then..?"She returned retaining her angry voice...."Because I'm very sure if you haven't open your big mouth, non of this bullshit will be out."

"I told you I didn't..."He latched out.., he tried to control the voice but he just couldn't, her words were hitting him so hard and his body needed to react to the accusation.., too bad it came out aggressively...

"Well find the person who sent you this paper.."She said back burrowing her eyes into his...

He withdrew his body and stood a few inch from her...."I didn't do anything.."He said, his body involuntarily moving forward...

"You are involve in this as I am.., so find this damn person and make sure he or she doesn't live to send another threat .."

"I'm not killing anyone.."He retorted slightly slamming the table..

"Find the person..."She insisted, her voice rumbling low...

He swallowed dryly, took the squeezed paper from her hand and left all the way wondering who knew about Joshua's death....

Miranda preen herself in the mirror as she gathered her hair and hold it together with a hair pin..., she ease herself on the chair she's been sitting on for hours trying to find meaning to what the trojan horse means...

She pick her pen from the table and jot a few things she learnt about the trojan horse down..., she was about opening another page on her laptop browser when a knock came on her door...

She sigh wondering why she never put a poster simply saying 'DONT DISTURB' on the door.., since she was a kid, she hates to be disturbed when she's trying so hard to know about something...

When the knock came again, she lazily stood up.., hesitated a bit before moving her legs towards the door.....

She unlocked the door only to see the prince standing at the door..., his hair well trim and was smelling different in a nice way...

"I didn't mean to disturb you..."Lawrence utter dragging the words between his teeth...

She almost smile but it didn't slip through so she maintain her present expression....

"Am I going to come in..?"Lawrence asked looking ahead of her, when he saw the laptop, he quickly realise she's still working on knowing what the trojan horse means...

She hesitated a bit, then she stepped out of the way before letting the words out..
"Come in.."

The sluggish way the words came out make Lawrence realise she wasn't happy he came to see her..., he's bored, he wants answers to his own issue and it turns out she's the only one who can answer his questions, so he ignored the expression on her face and the unaceepted sound of her voice and walked into the room..., his eyes moved around every corner of the room.., it wasn't girlish at all, books and clothes were scattered on the bed, the wardrobe was open and totally unkempt...

"I haven't found time to do some cleaning..."She chime into his thoughts..

He almost widened his eyes with surprise wondering if she was reading his mind...."Aren't the maids suppose to do that..?"

Her eyes moved from him as she trot towards the chair she was sitting...."I sent them back when they came.."She said before easing herself on the chair...

Lawrence nibbed waiting for the invitation to sit, an invitation he guess he'll never get...., she was different from other girls he has seen and been with.., she was tough, almost fearless and that is an attribute he loves about her.....

"Have you find anything..?"Lawrence ask standing beside her...

"No.."She replied not bothering to look at his face...

He stare at the laptop screen eye picking some words......"You already know this...."He said to her when he noticed she's been strolling on the same page over and over...

She grunts, one more reason adding to the reasons she's always wanted not to be disturbed by anyone...., she raise her gaze to face him.., her disdainfullness solely bleak on her face and she obviously don't care if her expression annoys him......

"Do you want something...?"She asked and she was damn serious about it...

He stepped back, if he hasn't seen this part of her he would have conclude she's supercillously disrespectful....."I'm just trying to help..."He mutter but helping was far from his plans..., his reasons behind coming to her room was simple.., ask her about the Godfather and a little about herself.....

"You aren't..."She said back, her voice carrying a thread of anger that went beyond her curiosity to find out about the trojan horse....

Right then, it hit Lawrence, something else was eating her and it certainly isn't the trojan horse....., something deep, perhaps from the past and she isn't keen to discuss it.....

"I'm trying to concentrate here.."She continue maintaining the harshness in her voice...

He huffs and fold his hands across his chest....."Okay.."

Her eyes glance up to his face again..., he look taller after folding his hands..., and his chest seem to push out a bit.., but that certainly wasn't her problem, her problem is he standing right beside her acting like hours ago, they weren't on the run, dodging flying bullets and collecting punches and bruises.....

"Okay..!"She reiterated angry he hasn't still get the memo..., when she said she needed to concentrate, she was simply asking him to excuse himself from her room just the same way he walked in.....

He jut his chin dropping his hand to his side again...."Okay.."

Now he's sounding annoying, she look away only to return her gaze to him a second later..., the scars from the bruises on his face were still visible but that didn't hide how alluring his face is..., he must get his way around women alot..., too bad he'll fail if that's what he trying to do with her..., her mind is too occupy with the scars and shitty pieces of her past and present...., if he's bringing in that line..., she'll jump...

"Like I said prince.."She stated making sure the words ring loud in his ears...."I'm trying to concentrate here..."

"We're in this together.."He said back sharply...

She turn her gaze away refusing to be caught up in the 'together thing', together has always been a death wish for her....

"You keep forgetting that..."He added not flinching neither going closer....

"This certainly doesn't concern you..."She retorted returning her gaze to him..., he's stubborn just like her father and it ended badly for him....

"The Godfather is after me too..."He stated..

Her forehead puckered, a sensible reminder just when she wants to be rid of him...."Fine..., you're welcome to stay..."

Her words were straight but even a little boy will read the obvious sarcasm on it..., she doesn't want him in her room, probably close to her, he doesn't want it either, all he wants is get to his own home and put the men who wants him dead in a death trail.....

"The trojan horse is pointless..."He said ignoring her words and her expression...., she can frown all she wants..., he won't be seeing her forever anyway.., once he gets to his own home, it's a bye bye to everything about MIRANDA....

She bit her lips..., bad vibes in a moment of hope...
"Don't do this.."

"Do what..?"

"Tell me it's bullshit..., that man have reasons for telling me..."

He drag in a sly breathe wondering why she can't understand what the killer said to her was just a clichè in a fearful situation....
"Even if it means something, it's outside it's context..., we won't find anything..."

She turn her gaze from him and refocus them on the laptop screen.., she took her pen up and jot in more words...

"Stop it Mira...., you're getting overworked with this.."

"Overworked...!"She resounds turning her gaze to him but this time with a different fire in her eyes..

He almost flinch when he notice the rage in her eyes like she was burning from the inside...

"That man is the reason my life is in shreds..."She retorted angrily....."That bastard who calls himself the Godfather is the reason behind my parents dead.., he took my mum first, then he took my dad, I was devastated and all I could think was kill myself...., do you know who took me from my sad little world...?"

He felt pity for her but he never got to reply her question before she continued...

"King felix.., the queen's father came to my rescue..., he took me into his arms and assure me all was going to be fine.., and for a while, I felt a little peace.., just a pinch of it..., and for a while I was happy until the Godfather returned and took him away..., he killed him...."

His heart broke and tears almost welled his eyes but he shook it of immediately..."I..I'm sorry.."

"Do not tell me you're sorry..."She growled darting her furious gaze at him again...."I didn't tell you this to garner pity from you...because your pitiful sorry won't give me the joy I craved for...."

Heart stricken with grief for her.., he just stood looking at her, he wanted to touch her, to wipe the tears that were now rolling from her eyes but he fear the way she'll react...., avoiding any scream or yelling from her, he kept his hands to himself.....

"The only thing that can give me joy is seeing that miserable bastard burn..., I'll sit, watch and laugh as he screams, wails while the fires of hell dries up his miserable skin...."

When more tears burst from her eyes.., he lean closer to her..., his heart beat as he look at her face.., her tears rolling unstoppable from her eyes..., his right hand move to her cheek, when she didn't yell the way he expected, he began to wipe her tears with his finger and slowly round it around her neck before pulling her closer to his shoulder...

She didn't fight him.., she saw his shoulder as her strength and a pillow to cry on....., when he pat her hair, she let go of the tears and sob heavily into his shoulder......

As her tears fall on his shoulder, his rage accelerated and he found himself taking her revenge as his...., her fire and grief as his..., now she isn't alone in this fight, together they're going to bring Godfather down...

Shocked raced through chief Miguel as he reads the news headline...

"They're saying the king is alive....."Caleb said

"No.."Chief Miguel mutter standing up from his chair.."It's not possible, the king cannot be alive.."

"He's alive dad.., the news states his clone died.., the bastard fooled us all..."

When she got outside, she saw journalists at the gate clamouring for her presence but the guards were holding her back...

Tiger eyes moved from the journalist to her daughter before she turn around and started walking back ignoring the journalist shouts and many questions....

Dario shook his head in disbelief....

"He said he has no idea where the king is..., we should let him go..."

"I'm still of the opinion we interrogate him more.., he might tell us something..."

"No Kess.., torturing him to tell us about the location of the king and the nuclear weapons will bring problems to us.., let him go..."

Kess sniffle and revert his gaze to the news......"The news about the king been alive is going viral, it's on all news station.., the king really faked his own death..."

"There's something odd about this.."Dario said ...."The news is spreading too fast..."

"Do you think there is another motive to it....?"

"Look at this, it's just been 2hours since the white man told us about the king and the news has spread like a wide fire....., there are two things here.., it's either someone is trying to spread the news to a large audience within a short time to put fear in people's heart or the king is just trying to make a grand entrance after succeeding in instilling fear in the hearts of people....."

Kess rub his nose and became more keen in the discussion....

"Remenber here..."Dario continue.."The key word here is 'fear..'.."

"Why fear...., who was the king that the people tends to be afraid..."

"The king was a tyrant..., the only thing he did during his reign was instilling fear in the minds of people and now that he's alleged to be back..., that fear is back..."

"So if the news is false.., it certainly means someone is trying to spread fear in the minds of people by setting this up..."

"It's possible but why would the white man lie...., and if it's a lie.., who's setting this up...?"

"Maybe the Godfather..."

"That could also be a possibility but why would the Godfather do that...., instill fear before the game begins......"

"Or why would the king instill fear in the minds of people before showing his face....?"

"Believe me when I say this officer..., this is a well laid out plan, and if it was set up by someone, if he's not careful.., the plan will hit the ground even before the game begins but if it's the king...., then the people should be prepare...., because a tyrant is about to walk the sands of this earth again...."

EPISODE 30
EPISODE TITLE- Why Maria..








In that tense moment between hugging her and wanting to let go of her, his arms squeezed a fraction of her tighter and Miranda breathed more slowly, her body melting into Lawrence as every muscle lost its tension to the tears that flow heavily from her eyes.., despite the heaviness in her stomach, it fluttered at the feeling of her body pressed against his. She sunk into the warmth of his side, appreciative of the simple gesture.....

Then she slowly lift her head off his shoulder and slightly pull out like her brain was sending signals to her heart, reminding her of what she's doing.., she actually cried in front of him, something she sworn never to do until the reason for her many tears is burnt beyond recognition....

She force herself from the embrace and stepped back.., a bit away from him, slightly embarrassed at herself for letting her emotions control her and making her weep like a sad and helpless baby in his shoulder...

He flex his fingers beside him and slowly began to clenched his fist.., he watch her wipe the tears off of her face, she was trying to be strong but he can see through her.., he knows the walls inside her can no longer contain the pain she was carrying..., the great sadness she has stored in for long..., he slightly move his hand, he wanted to touch her again, tell her it's going to be okay but he couldn't, so he dropped his hand and try to relaxed it...

She swallowed dryly and eased her behind on the chair she's been sitting, she didn't bother raising her gaze to face him.., she pretends to look at the laptop screen but her mind was in a different destination.., too far away that she fears she might not catch up and bring it back into place....

His lips quivered as he finds words to say to her but nothing dared to come out from his mouth.., maybe he shouldn't have pushed her, it wasn't his intention to force tears from her eyes, to remind her of the pains she has kept locked away..., he grind his teeth together and took a single step closer but he couldn't go more than that..., not when he still knows her mind was and still in total chaos....

He withdrew his step and brushed his almost wet eyes to stop his tears, he has seen other women cry and complain about how life has been unfair to them, he feels pity but never has he ever get to share a tear for them..., he feels drawn to her like his heart was saying something and his body was telling another.., he was like a case trapped in an awful dilemma....

He sigh wishing each breathe he takes, takes away every insane feeling that was lingering in his heart.., he step forward the second time and her hands reach for her pen, he watch her as she held the pen without writing anything on the note...

"Why don't you take a rest..."He mutter even when he knows he shouldn't..., she's almost obsessed with finding the actual meaning of what the killer meant when he said 'The one with the trojan horse is the Godfather' and telling her to rest was a total no to her and she might probably tell him to go to hell.....

She took a deep breathe to stop the raging fire burning her from the inside out before she manage to raise her gaze to face him and was about to slap his own words in his face when a knock came on her door...

She swallowed the words and shift her gaze from him to the door...."Come in..."She manage to say drying her face again..

The door knob turn down and Capisho came into sight..., his eyes moved from Miranda to the prince and then to Miranda before settling them on Lawrence....

"You need to see this..."Capisho stated with a voice that solely built no form of softness....

Miranda didn't bother asking what the problem is, she just stood up at the opportunity to excuse herself from him...

He exhale, relax his nerves and followed suit.....

Lawrence nearly trip as his head read the news headline and his ears process the words of the news reporter...

"They're saying your father is alive.."Claude chime in spuning around to face Lawrence...

"It's not possible..."Miranda cut in...."He's dead.."

"And now he's alive.."Claude replied before sitting and crossed her legs...

Lawrence mouth went frozen with an expression of stunned surprise..

"They're saying the one who died was the kings clone.."Capisho chime in walking from behind into their front...

Lawrence turn to face Claude but too slowly to be normal, his limbs move as if some inexperienced person is controlling them remotely and his eyes are wide...."I need to call my mother, she'll know if this is true...".

The corners of Claude eyes crinkled, she look heavenward before lowering her gaze to meet him...."We cannot call your mother.."

"Aren't you listening to the news..."Lawrence blared out almost angrily...

"Didn't you hear what I told you..?"Claude retorted with an onslaught of fury...

He took a deep breathe calming down his panic.....

"This could be a trick.."Miranda chime in retaining that uncharacteristic grim line amid her chin....."If he's alive why announce himself now and why all over TV station..."

"Are you suggesting, this could be the work of the Godfather...?"Claude ask curiously

Miranda nodded with a cringe at Lawrence...."Who else could pull such a stunt..., he knows the prince is here, so he did this to make him think his father is still alive so he could leave..."

Lawrence felt abashed..., cursing himself why his brain couldn't think, read meanings to things fast..., he lock his gaze on her, she must be pretty excited to the be the most brilliant one among them..., when she glance his way, he expected a smile from her but she still maintain her gait that was still faltery and uneven..

"It's a trick..."Miranda added sharply taking her gaze from him..., he's too appealing to lack intelligence.....

"Even if it's a trick..."Lawrence said wishing he could burst her bubbles and praying the same time it turns out to be a trick..., since he was little, he has always had this odd impression that his father has never liked him....

"You wont succeed me until I'm dead and buried.."His father said to him when he was fifteen and till date the words has been playing in his head, each time he comes up with different interpretations for the awful words...., he has always knew his father loves power, likes to be on top and whoever turn out to be a threat to his reign disappears..., he remenber his father cutting off a guards hand all because the guard was looking at him in a way he didn't like..., the memory of it was vividly clear in his head like it was just yesterday it happened.., that suffocating moment when his father had to force him to watch as the guards hand was cut off, the blood, the guards scream....

"Shouldn't we still find out.."He added dragging the words between his teeth..., when he turn, he caught her looking at him but quickly turn away and acted like she hasn't even looked his way.....

"We don't have time for that...."Claude riposte...."I agree with Miranda, this is a trick and a trick is suppressed by an element of surprise..."

"Element of surprise.."Lawrence reiterated and step closer..."What does that mean..?"

"It means you'll be returning when the Godfather least expects it, that way there won't be any surprises on the way...."

Lawrence draws in a deep breathe and fold his hands across his chest..."Exactly when is this going to be...?"

"The seventh day..."

"The seventh day..?"He resounds, the words beating in his head...."I cannot wait till the seventh day.."

"Are you willing to live or not..?"Claude queried sharply

He purse his lip and look at Miranda before returning his gaze to her....

"You should know we are just trying to help.."Capisho said....

Though Capisho voice sounded gentle but Lawrence definitely knows a cliche when he hears one but he didn't bother reading out the meaning....., his eyes caught Miranda again as she turn and began to walk back to her room....

"Fine...."He said with a shrug.., when he turn back again, Miranda wasn't in sight...

"Mr Hunter....."Queen Tiger called out as she glided down the door knob and it swung open....

"Thank you.."Hunter said to the maid who served him a cup of water..

"Leave us.."Tiger said to the maid who wasted no time before leaving the room shutting the door behind her...

"Where is the king..?"Hunter queried with knitted brows...

Tiger flinched..."The king.., he..he....

"I told you I'll only do business with the king..."Hunter balled in, face shaded with all seriousness..

Tiger bit her lip lightly.., then slowly a smile began to surround her face before they both burst into laughter...

"That swine is dead..."She chided...."And that Mr Hunter was absolutely a good performance..."

Hunter took the glass of water he was serve, a smile still playing on his lip, he gulp down a bit of it...

"They believed it..."Hunter said dropping the glass on the tray...

"Everyone believed it, it worked..."

"God, this was an adventure..., I was pretty convincing.., you needed to see me..."

"I'm beginning to imagine Miguel's face when he heard the king is still alive.."

"Miguel.., it wasn't Miguel, he said his name was Dario and there was cop too..."

"Dario...!"She resounds with stunned surprise..."I never saw that coming.."

"Something wrong.., was he a wrong target...?"

"Absolutely not..."

"What about Marcus, I haven't seen him around.., hasn't he been let out by the men who took him.."

"That's nothing Hunter.., I'll bring Marcus myself..., why don't you relax and I'll have my daughter here to keep you company .."

He smile..."So I'm finally going to meet her..."

She returned the smile before opening the door to walk out....

The words sent Aaron heart jumping with trepidation...

When Aaron attempt to move close to her, the door burst open and they quickly turn their gaze to the door only to see Tiger's angry eyes...

"You did what...?"Tiger queried, anger rousing every part of her...., she took a step into the room...

Hot fluid dribbled down Aaron's legs and he quickly stepped aside..

"Guards...."Tiger shouted as she moved her angry gaze from Aaron to Miranda...

Aaron heart raced with tremendous speed and all he think about in that moment was to run but he was too late, three AS squad men came running to the door....

"Take him..."Tiger scowled...

"Your majesty, I can explain.., I.. "Aaron hollered in a prime moment of torture....."I wasn't doing anything.."He added as the three men dragged him out..

Tiger quickly close the door and face her daughter again...

Great fear engulfed Miranda and she stumbled backward only to hit her back on the wall...

Pushed to her limit.., Tiger slapped her right across her cheeks..

The hot slap triggered more tears from Miranda's face....

"You killed your own father..."Tiger growled and slapped her again....

"It isn't him.."Maria yelled back, tears bursting out with her words...."It's a clone..., he's alive..."

"He's not alive..."Tiger hollered back bitterly...."It wasn't a clone you killed, that was your father..., there's no clone..."

"I..I..."She stutter as more tears rolled down her cheek.., she sniffle, snorts from her nose dripping with her tears...."I.. don't....

"I planned this whole thing..."Tiger cut in angrily...."The TV station, the white men, the clone, everything I planned it to distract the men who are after your brother so he can return to us without anyone gunning for his head...., why did you kill your own father....why Maria....?"
