pluto09: Oga, I agree with you. I have the same reservation. Historically, I do not know of any bank in Nigeria that went into merger/acquisition and came out with improved efficiency. I hope Zenith becomes the first to break this jinx. 2 Likes |

leo1234: I would have been kicking myself very hard if i had not bought FBNH @3.7. The joy i have right now is that FBNH did not disappoint, its back to profitability and this makes me glad. For a stock like this, entry point is key, not sure i would be selling anytime soon.. Come to think of it, what happens when FBNH starts to trade at par with the likes of Zenith and co. My strategy is to identify value and enter at a good value price without looking back. Few days back, i narrowly missed entry into AFRIPRUD @3.15, the plan was to ACCUMULATE as much as i can before reversing to @3.45. So, plan your trade and trade your plan.. All Man For Himself Pls. all mentioned in my post are just my opinions and not a BUY or SELL recommendation, you are the CEO of your portfolio, Peace! 3 Likes |

emmanuelewumi:12% and 11% . They’re 3-year FGN savings bonds I bought in 2018. And they will mature next year too. I bought with Stanbic IBTC stockbrokers, and I don’t know how liquid it really is. My aim now is capital appreciation, and I believe I can only achieve that with stocks. 1 Like |

Sefiuu: Those rates are juicy, you can sell some of your FG bonds I order to take position in stocks that can currently give you a dividend yield of 15% and above |

DexterousOne: About 15 years ago, FBN paid dividend of N1.70k at a time when GTB and Zenith bank paid dividends of about 70k. Now GTB and Zenith bank can pay dividends of N2.80k, while FBN paid less than 40k. GTB made an income of less than N500 billion and converted N186 billion to profit after tax, while FBN made over N600 billion and converted less than N80 billion to profit after tax 12 Likes 1 Share |

From Twitter friend. There is nothing new in economics or finance..it's just how its said.. It's made to sound sophisticated so you can be charged a fee Bond= borrow Leverage= Borrow Short= sell Long= buy Quantitative Easing=Buy Stimulus=spend Shares=own TBills=borrow short term CD=lend to bank 6 Likes 1 Share |

OBAGADAFFI:So Twitter is now the new authority of finance/economics lexicon. Go to investopedia and look up the specific meanings of those words and see how poor a job you did in rushing to make this post. You qualified tbills with short term borrowing, but left bond and leverage. How can qe be a buy and stimulus be a sell? Are you not aware that qe is a form of stimulus? The SCO is an oil etf that profits from fall in oil prices. How would you describe a long position in the etf vis-à-vis oil prices? Many of the words here are rarely used in the Nigerian market and nobody takes the posts here seriously else what you have done is not different from touting a wrong prescription as cure for an ailment. 2 Likes 1 Share |
