Catholic Church do not have much issues with Science. Any issue you can bring is mostly moral or ethical issues.

All these developed countries you are seeing now fought their religious authorities to a standstill and made them respect reason over religion. Catholic Church killed a lot of people for saying the Earth is round. Their populace taught them a bloody lesson and put them in their place, to where if the State says penicillin kills Bacteria, they would not argue again.

Any society that made progress limited the effect of development-hampering Religion on their people. Even China had to shut that shït down in their quest for progress. Yes, we will celebrate religous holidays. We will give the Church a seat in the infrastructure of the State in recognition that it is part of our culture. We will even claim the religion and identify as Christians or Muslims, but we will not allow medieval thinking hamper our progress.

There is one of my friend in UK who insist on paying 10% of his Gross income as tithe. I asked him, why not on Net income, but he insist it must be Gross. Na wetin their pastor dey wash their brain for church be that. As if Moses would tax you 10% of what did not even enter your hand.

So he will pay 20% income tax, 12% National Insurance, then 10% Tithe

Some people are in 40% tax bracket and will be paying 40% Income tax, 12% National Insurance, Council tax (£200 per month), then another 10% Tithe on top. Is that not stüpidity?

Why will I be paying such level of tax to my Govt, then still go and add another 10% for Jewish medieval Govt. Am I taking care of Levites?
