If we are lucky for a successful containment after 4 week lockdown ,we should be thankful....
that's why I still think that total lock down is not the best approach especially for a fragile economy like ours

It is o.

You can restart economies after lockdown and lives will be saved. But you can't restart lives lost.

if that happens then march on the streeets is very likely

I think the lockdown would definitely be extended, in Lagos at least and there has already been unrest in some places in Lagos already, as long as Lagos provides palliatives it’ll be alright or maybe they’re waiting for more private individuals to help them as usual.

I have the feeling that Q1 will not be impacted on so much by this event.

It is Q2 that I feel that there could be revenue impact if it extends beyond April.

I also don't think there will be much impact in q1.
We will surely begin to see the impact from q2.

For those countries that have the capacity to manage an outbreak, that approach might be reasonable.
Nigeria should try as much as possible to contain it no matter what it takes.

This is the reason passive income should be more accommodated now.

While active income investment is being suffered by lockdown, passive is more of giving returns.

This is the real wealth transfer.I must tell my children to always engage themselves both in active and passive income investments.

Happy Easter my oga and pals.

Chief, what you are saying here is just theory.

An economy is on lockdown and you are here talking about passive income. Please mention the passive income streams that are lockdown-proof.

While at it, you may do well to note that one man's passive income is another man's main source of earning.

Passive income is also affected, 6 of my old man's tenants have not paid their rents which should have been paid since January. But on the worst scenario they would have paid since March.

Passive income in form of dividends will also be affected in 2020 and 2021.

The only thing is to have more than enough cash reserves in money market funds and other near money assets.

It is very possible for your passive income to be your main income.

It's possible the effect of all these wouldn't even reflect in Q1 but in Q2, that's if the situation persists.
Companies do have a way of generating revenues, especially banks irrespective of economic conditions. Don't be surprised if banks release good Q1 results cos of the highlighted factors self.
People stayed at home and are spending, even more than when they're going out. Banks didn't shut down, they only reduce physical activities. The telecoms biz were/are booming too.
Anyway, we'll see how it goes....

Banks will report some good results especially with the recent devaluation of the country's currency. Expend some fx gains.

Testing has started in many EU states.

They are using plasma from recovered patients to treat the sick ones.

Some are testing combination of drugs.

The cases have peaked worldwide. For New York to peak, nothing remains again. Other cities in the US can't be worst than NY.

The focus now is the modalities for re-opening the economies. Slow start or hard push?

Market don tank finish, people don buy.

For Travels, we go see heavy discount on air fares just to encourage people to travel. Ticket taxes are being cut. I saw one from 18% VAT to 1%.

I believe it's the entire holding company

I suspect there are some loss making subsidiary within that holding group

Super market and selling of foods won't give him passive income

Passive income will continue to generate income when you are asleep, sick or dead. Passive income does not need your presence

Eg rental income, dividends, coupons from bonds, interest, royalties etc

There are Estate accounts of dead shareholders and landlords that are still generating tens of millions of Naira as dividends and rental income while their active income stopped immediately they died

Estate of late Michael Jackson still generates more than enough income from royalties even though he is dead. Some living artistes don't make the volume of income dead Michael Jackson makes in a year
