I NEED HELP

Studying in Canada has been my dream and now it seems the dream is about to materialize,Glory to God.
But right now I’m stuck,I’ve never applied for admission to any school,I’ve never applied for a study permit.I don’t know where to begin from.
I’ll be really glad if I someone can help through the process from scratch,I’m a fast learner,I believe I won’t be a pain In the neck for my HELPER lol.God bless and thanks in anticipation.
Like they always say on this thread read from the beginning by the time you get to this page a lot of things will be clear. Everything I have ever learnt about applying the process - from getting a supervisor to applying for admission was on this thread. Just start reading it small small

And if you think this 600 page thread is too long - like the last poster who gave testimony said maybe another country is better for Masters. Canadian studies is hectic. I am doing one small (I thought) online certificate course. Those people have already killed me with reading. They don’t see anything in giving you two or three 200 page document to read and write paper on every week.

I keep wondering how the masters will be. God dey sha

Hi guys, I'm new to this travel matter. I really need someone to put me through, I got some amount of money last year that I planned traveling with but I got no link or anyone to actually hold my hands and put me through. I'm so in need of help about this, I don't mind dropping a little tip for that.

I'm an undergraduate though.

Thanks for the help.

Hi. Sorry I cannot access your PM because I have lost access to the email address used for my profile. But if you require any assistance and you can post it here I will be glad to help

I'm gathering all the neccessary documents.

Snapped my passport.

Still constructing my LOE.

The problem I have now is that the Application form refused to download in my Adobe reader.

I have even upgraded it to ADOBE 11, yet no show.

Please, is there any other ADOBE I can use to access the form?

I need your help!!!

I had to use Adobe acrobat. I used the trial version but I also think there are a few free alternatives if you google it

Hello house,

Good morning and thanks for all the great works!

Please I want to ask two questions -

1. With this Covid-19 wahala, is the vfs in Lagos still accepting applications for submission? If yes, what about the Lagos lockdown because I live out of Lagos.

2. Every time I tried to upload my IMM forms on CIC, I noticed it doesn't preview in the preview pane, do you advise I upload them like that without previewing them? If I upload them, would the Consular be able to see the forms at his/her end? I'm worried because I don't want to submit a blank Form.

Thanks all.

But, will it be 4 months or 6 months?
4 or 6 months SOA will do(any). If you are working make sure you include your SOA as well(even if you have a sponsor)

Even with the adobe acrobat it may not open automatically. What I had to do was download the form first to my computer - that screen page that says if the form does not open automatically that means your computer application is not good enough or something like that- download it and save into a folder. Then go to that folder and click open with acrobat

Happy Ester,

I have been following this thread. I have drafted my SOP as concise as possible and it has run to about 7 pages. An agent recommended that i make it 2 pages max. I am just wondering how i could do that because i might end up removing vital information.

Also, how risky is it to have three sponsors?

What do you think?

Hello NwanyiOkpa,

NwanyiOkpa:
Sir Justmellow,

Good evening. So, I have finished the first draft of my LOE (as detailed as possible). Now, i have a question.

If i am using my brother as main sponsor and dad as co-sponsor, do i also need to upload my account balance since i am not part of the sponsors? I am likely to use my sister as co-sponsor two since she has more funds and has stated her interest. She works and lives in USA while my brother and dad are businessmen in Nigeria.

The answer would guide me in determining what to remove from this my first LOE draft and what else to add.

Thanks.

Each application isn't the same like the personal circumstances of the applicant. Literally, the financial situation and other proof of establishment of sponsors who has a direct relationship to the applicant ought to cover the applicant. However, because of the discretion VOs applies to scrutinize applications, as a matured or applicant with a work related experience, its advisable to include one. In its own minute way, it creates certain perspective of your activeness in terms of employment and other areas associated with your level of establishment. If its up to me, I will definitely advise you to include one no matter how small the closing balance and even at that your sponsors are financially capable. This means the VO won't place all focus on yours.

In as much as there is no limit on the number of sponsors, with the analysis you gave to the house, the two of them are already capable. My own personal opinion if I own the application is using just 2 sponsors without an additional third or rather the third can write a Letter of Support to either make a financial commitment justification or promissory intent on the note that if your application is approved. You can also get one of them to transfer certain amount of funds to the other. Though there is no harm using all three of them.

Good afernoon,

I am drafting my SOP and i have been admitted also to other countries like Germany and USA. Do i need to explain why i did not go to these countries but rather chose Canada?

should i attach my admission letters from these schools to my application? would it help my application? or should i just totally keep the information out of my application?

Thanks.

Yes, there is no harm at all. You can use it to strengthen the reasons why you chose Canada as a study destination and creating a notion that Canada is not a do affair as a destination to study. I repeat there is no harm of whatsoever.

Thank you very much, this is very helpful.
Please what can I use to show tie at home?
I am single and I have an unlimited work contract in my country of residence.
Are landed properties enough to show ties back home? I equally have a small farm back home, considering the time, can I register it as a company now and use the documents to show ties?

Hello TheBeat,

Your landed properties will definitely suffice and if there is time slat your disposal to register the farm then good. If not, you can simply include TV clearance or waste management bills or any other government revenue document. Your family isn't left out as well. Also, how well you can garnish your English to interpret you personal circumstances creates a whole lots of certain positive vibes and commanding attention.

I like the idea of asking one to send funds to the other but won't that be suspicious?

How can one explain the large amount that is sent from one account to the other?

Hello sir,

If my sister who is supposed to be co-sponsor 2 sends the funds to my dad, co-sponsor 1, would that raise any brows? Considering that it is a sudden cash flow.

I would like to reduce the number of sponsors to 2 as you suggested. One main sponsor, my brother and one co-sponsor, my dad.

Hello gurus in the house, happy easter.

I am already filling my IMM form for my master study permit and I would like who I should fill as my sponsor. Should I fill myself or my brother.

I obtained a study leave with pay, got letter of introduction from my boss and will obtain a study loan from my cooperative society but my brother have transferred 1m to my account. Hence, should I use myself or my brother as my sponsor?

First thing to do is to research the faculty. Check them on google. If you can find any of their papers online read as many as you can. From the information you get from them you can now draft your research interests such that it will catch the attention of the supervisor you are targeting.

,e.g during my undergraduate program I studied.......and ........ l wrote my project on ...... and ....... While researching for my project I became intrigued by ......:....... (topic close to the professor you are targeting’s area of research). I therefore decided to pursue a Masters program on.......
