Thank you @Luckymama. Your advice really worked. You can't believe how you helped me to do.

You know this is my first time of applying this and I'm kinda meticulous not to make a blunder.

I'm done with the form.

But before making the final submission, to ask this questions :

-How to get UCI?

-Do I have to upload the Immm294 in it's PDF form or should I print and then scan it?

-Does barcodes what is it all about?

UCI - if this is your first time applying to Canada for anything then you don’t have a UCI. But if you applied before or you have an express entry then you have a UCI - Unique Client Identifier number. So for now you leave it blank.

Since you are applying online no need to print any document and sign. There’s a validate button at the top and bottom of the forms. Just validate and submit. But for the family form I printed, signed and scanned it again because I didn’t see a validate button there.

Good afternoon house,
Please I have an admission for the fall semester in memorial university of Newfoundland. I would appreciate if I could be given a break down of the visa application process. Whether it’s better to apply online or through the paper route? How much is expected to have in your account? Tips on writing the sop/loe? I would really appreciate any information I can get.
Thank you house.
The visa application process for now the only way to apply is online because of COVID.
The process: create your profile at GCKey website. Just google apply online Canadian study permit and follow the link to the GCKey.
2. When you have created the profile, you start a new application. First thing will be a questionnaire. Carefully fill the questionnaire because the forms they will give you to fill depends on the answers you gave on the questionnaire.
3. Download the forms one by one, save in your computer, fill and upload back to the website.
4. Financial - combine all your financial documents into one pdf and submit.
The good thing is you cannot submit the application online until you have uploaded all documents.
5. Submit and pay.
6. Start to pray.
As for the letter of explanation just tweak the statement of purpose you used for your admission. New information you can add include an explanation of how you are funding the studies if it’s not already in your letter of sponsorship. Focus also on explaining how these studies will impact positively on your career - perhaps maybe open you up for managerial positions or give you opportunity for international experience. You have to show them that you have carefully counted the costs for the studies and seen that it is worth it.
Just assume you are a VO - look at your application with the eye of a VO and answer any questions you know you would have asked the applicant or any doubts that would have arisen in your mind.

Hello bosses, also @Luckymama

Please when trying to upload the IMM forms, did you try to preview it? Because it seems if one cannot preview them during upload and then submit like that, it may not be viewable by the Consular too. Pls what do you think abeg?
I wasn’t able to preview it either. I just carefully read and reread each form before uploading sha. Hmmm I hope this is not the case o.

Hello sir,

If my sister who is supposed to be co-sponsor 2 sends the funds to my dad, co-sponsor 1, would that raise any brows? Considering that it is a sudden cash flow.

I would like to reduce the number of sponsors to 2 as you suggested. One main sponsor, my brother and one co-sponsor, my dad.

Hello NwanyiOkpa,

Lump sums will surely make the VO raise both eyebrows but if properly justified, both eyebrows will drop unknowingly. Arguably, lump sum deposit is a sin many applicants commits and still gets forgiven upon asking for forgiveness — Justifying the reasons/evidence. But since its a close relative, she can just write a letter od financial support to the effect and provide proof of relationship etc

All the best

I like the idea of asking one to send funds to the other but won't that be suspicious?

How can one explain the large amount that is sent from one account to the other?

Hello Admin9,

These are the commonly used explanations:

1. Sales of property
2. Liquidation of investment
3. Debt repayment
4. Contract securement
5. Benefits/Allocations/Inheritance

N.B: with substantial and compelling explanation/evidence

Admission process for undergraduate applicants takes 1week-4weeks. As for the chances of securing visa with an undergraduate admission, it depends on your level of education, sponsor (preferably parents), and the rationality level of your SOP.

It will end in praise.

Thanks So much Boss Frank. I really appreciate ur efforts...

Now to the aspect of Uploading to POF section . I.e Merging of MyBank Statement Ticket, Tuition fee receipt from school, Tuition payment receipt to school, Sponsor Intl. Passport Data pages etc...

Since its a Passworded Document, how will the VO (Canadian Embassy) access it when I merge it together for uploading to POF or is it gonna be a stand alone document. or is it only that first page am (showing the Tickeck no. , password , Name and Destination) am going to upload.

Thanks sir...

Upload the entire document showing the Ticket ID and password with other related financial documents. Don't worry about how the embassy will verify the authenticity, the MyBank statement has already been addressed to them, which grants the visa officer at the Canadian Embassy the full access to your personal account/sponsor's account . Just make sure your documents are clear enough and readable.

Hi House and @Frankrobbn1, I'm patiently waiting for your responses, please.

In addition to my question 4, is marriage certificate or Declaration of Common Law relationship needed along with applications if your spouse is not coming along to Canada?

OluwaFavored:
Hi House and guru like @Frankrobbn1, as I prepare gradually to apply for the SP, I have below questions please,

1. Sponsorship: My total money (both tuition and LE) for the 1st comes from school funding and myself (personal account) second year tuition is 75% funded and indicated in acceptance letter. In this case, who do I use as sponsor? myself? other? or family?. I wanted to add my uncle as co-sponsor basically for LE in second year if I will ever need money from another person in that second year.

2. EE prfile: What do you suggest I do with the EE profile? Do I withdraw it and include UCI number or leave it as it is? which one is better from experience?

3. Cost of Study section in the app form has tuition, room and board and other, there was no other expenses stated in my acceptance letter, only tuition and referred me to cic site for guidance. Now, do I put my tuition, LE as room and board? what do I now put in "other"?
Again,it required cost of my studies, is it for the whole program (2yrs) or just for the first year?

4. Lastly , I'm married with a kid before traveling to US and they are at home in Nigeria, but the marriage was a traditional one and there is no certificate from the court yet, I was lazy to do that before I eventually traveled. Now, do I indicate status as married or Common-Law? They will request for marriage certificate if I indicate married and Statutory declaration of C-L if I choose that. Challenge will be that how do we sign Declaration while we are apart in US and Nigeria? Can they accept two different declaration? one from here and another from Nigeria?

Thanks so much as usual, I appreciate. So sorry for the length. @Frankrobbn1 and other experience folks, please, help.

U are welcome,

As per Travel History, it doesn't really matter, but
I feel u gonna do justice to that on ur SOP (Statement of Purpose). According to a post I got in this forum sometime ago, u can tell the VO DAT, U haven't thought of travelling abroad bfor. Hence, ur reason for wanting to travel abroad at this point of ur life is to augment special worth to urself & also because of how important this ur program ( State ur Program) is to ur career/biz back home which could create lots of outstanding opportunities in ur career & personal development etc.

Hmmm..as per sch. Fees.. Probably the Gurus here would know.more about that....

Normally, the sch. Asking u to pay 1 semester is jz for dem to secure ur seat for you & to know ur level of commitment.

To the VO. - Paying full & Paying only One Semester is a 50-50 Case.

U can endeavor to know d refund policy of the sch.

Many av paid half of deir tuition bfor & got approved, some paid full & got rejected and some did not even pay at all & dey got approved as well.

I think u should enquire for their expertise in this forum.

Stay Blessed ..

Please gear up for a long post.

most of us know what happened to applications during this period. I had to wait for 1 year plus with enough fasting and prayers. lord knows I've never been that committed to my religion as I did during that period. At one point I almost withdrew my application but people of God like Frankrobbn1 and Naijaforeigner convinced me to hold on. Approvals kept coming in for fellow nairalanders but mine was in oblivion and I kept praying. So finally after the whole humbling and patience, God taught me:

That's my own story people and I want to give special thanks to Jnyuwa02, Frankrobbn1, and Naijaforeigner for the support they have been giving on this platform. he no easy. I doff my cap to yall.

I can't write everything but I wrote what I remembered. as time goes ill keep updating you guys.

Congratulations Owoch, its actually been a while. I can remember vividly how so many applications were held for a long period of time without a decision from London visa office as at May 2018 to August 2018. It was a very horrible experience for nairalanders during that time. It's nice to hear that you heeded to the advice given and didn't withdrew the application. We give God the glory and thus glad to be part of your Canadian TRV success story and many others. Thanks for reaching out here about the outcome of the long awaited application. I wish you the very best in Canada.

Travel history doesn't really matter and shouldn't bother you because you don't need to travel out from your home country before you can get your application approved. If you have not travelled before, you can simply explain to the Visa officer in your SOP that you don't like traveling or haven't thought of travelling abroad before. That, your reasons for wanting to travel abroad at this point in your life is to augment special worth to yourself and also because of how important this program (mention few benefits of the program) is to your career/business back home which would create lots of outstanding opportunities in your career and personal development. On the other hand, you can say your busy work schedule doesn't allow you to travel.

Payment of tuition fees is not a prerequisite for a visa approval. However, prospective applicants pay up their entire tuition fees to prove to the visa officer that they have the financial resources to undertake the proposed program in Canada. I would suggest if you've the first year tuition, you can proceed with the payment while the living expenses will be in either your account or sponsor's account. With that said, be sure you've perused the school refund policy prior to completing an upfront tuition payment.

It will end in praise.

Good day everyone, please I have a quick question as regard Proof of Fund. I got approved by Mpower Finance for a student loan into one of its participating universities in Canada. How does this impact on approval for Study Permit? Actually, I was admitted into a thesis program, and the department has asked me to apply for the departmental funding ( Graduate Assistantship) in late July/early August, but I think waiting till around that time before applying for study permit may be a bit late. So, what advice does gurus in the house have for me in this regard? Should I go ahead and use Mpower Finance student loan or I should wait till August, get a GA ( covers for tuition + stipend of about 5400 per Term) before applying? Does anyone know individuals who used the likes of Mpower Finance, Prodigy Fianance, or any other student loan banks for international students and got approved?

I know so many applicants who were successful with student loans in their visa application and are presently undertaking their program in Canada. Sillysassysally, is one of them. You may want to reach out to her for any information or guidance.

As I always advice prospective applicants on this thread, that the Canadian Visa officers doesn't regard company sponsorship for a candidate (employee) seeking for career advancement in Canada and the fact that no matter the amount in the company's account, the applicant's study visa application will still be turned down on the basis of financial insufficiency. This is as a result of several factors which I have listed in my previous post about Employer's sponsorship.

I prefer you're self-sponsored applicant, while your company provides a cover letter confirming the fact that you will be absorbed upon your return with a promotion in office and an increase in salary as the case maybe.

As per the direction of the visa process, follow the LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CANADA STUDY VISA APPLICATION to begin your application.
