He is a field specialist with a multinational O&G company. 2.5 million Naira is less than $7000. That's the average salary of Technicians in middle East countries.

If you study well, hard and carefully. Your bachelor's degree will be the best thing to ever happen to you.

Don't allow those who failed in school to deceive you with "School na scam" talks. It isn't. It is very important, if not, thousands of people won't be applying every year to study.

Just be focused and work very hard.
The truth of the matter is that had it been we have devoted all the time, money and energy we spent in school towards vocationary training. Our lives would have been much better than this. Believe it or not, only a very few educated persons end up with good and well paying jobs, the majority of us areway underemployed or unemployed. And u might think i graduated with a poor grade, i did not. I had a strong 2.1 from a very strong fed university.

26 with a CGPA of 4.26 and I'm disqualified?
Kai, waste of naming ceremony.

Of course you are disqualified. You are yet to serve and you are already 26.

If you don’t know that MOST well paying organizations wouldn’t take a graduate (post-NYSC) that is more than 26yrs...then it is quite understandable that you are a dreamer. Some even drop it to 24.

You think it is by your CPGA? This one doesn’t know what going on. grin grin

I applied for medicine lol, my Jamb score was 198, I believe that was why I didn't get the course, my utme score was high 270, but lemme tell u, I will still prefer business to medicine even though it pays well.
Yes I was frustrated when I got the course but I came to understand how the outside world rocks thanks to this course.
Sometimes the best option is not the right option, we need a course that prepare us for the future not a course that prepare us to get a job.

Moreover soil science is a course u could easily secure a Job except u have no idea what the course entails then u can say anything about it

Lmao...u see that 'easily secure job' line? I said it too when I ws studying biochemistry in oau. All of us studying some funny courses kept encouraging ourselves with it. But most of us couldn't even land jobs like teaching and we had 2.1s and a number of 1st class. So the vast majority who study these courses end up working without their certificates or doing some form of business or learning skill. Stop deceiving yourself ok. Only very few will work based on what they studied in school and I tell you the pay they will get is shitty

Education is important,business too is.
Depends on who is behind the wheel.
At some point, you will put all that school stuff aside and run your job like a business to come out successful.
That's how I see it.
Very smart people really don't need degrees to excel, this one is also very true.
Hmmm

That education is the foundation of what will keep them focus and been educated will enlightened them and broaden there scope in any business they engage in. The way they will interact, profound solutions and expend thier business will be different from someone who as no basic education or just passed thru school.
The only way you can interact and make money moves is with liquidity.
No one gives a shit about your degree honestly.
They will pick someone with cash,a working distribution mechanism, structure and a history over who has a degree anytime, anyway.
Unless of course you were talking social interaction and not financial ones.
Company get commodity or service weh them want sell, you dey here dey talk degree.
I'm done with this mehn...

This can only come from a school drop out, someone who graduated with pass, someone who studied courses like iceblock Engineering or Nylon technology and someone who wasted his/her time in school without learning anything from his/her field of study.

Certificate get level incase you don't know.

Anyone who graduated with a good and presentable result with lots of knowledge and skills relating his/her course of study will never make this statement, because there's are certificates that will feed a whole kindred for 30+ years.

What did you study and what grade did you graduate with?

Firstly, I would say schooling could be likened to a double-edged sword because it comes with intertwined implications.

However, it would be safe and fair to say that having a Degree opens door to unlimited opportunities if the holder of the Degree gets linked to the right people at the right time.

In conclusion, having a Degree does not guarantee success in life, but a life filled with unimaginable benefits/opportunities.

ITS STILL THE BEST LEGACY EVER!

What most of us don't understand is that, not everyone of us will succeed in starting business, business might fail or succeed depending on so many factors be it spiritual, physical, economic and feasibility studies.

The reason why we keep debating on how degree is useless or not compared to handwork is because of our dear country, when have a good degree in a developed country and your specialization is in demand, it will be a huge cashout as business might be the last option.

A case study of my boss earning close to 80000AED equivalent to 8 million naira a month,
Some salary, if you save well and have no problem at work can earn you lifetime because as I said not everyone of us can do business and not all businesses will survive.
So dem no fit pursue person for work too

Your dream is bigger because you didn't study your dream course. You can't tell me you applied for Soil science. Never!!

You accepted it out of desperation and ended up studying what you don't like or have passion for, that's why you aren't concerned or interested on what it could offer you.

You degree only has value if you attend a good university. What many people do not know is that there are many poorly rated, unknown, mushroom universities that as soon as your prospective employer sees the university, he/she will toss your CV to one side without even reading. Ask anybody in HR.

The society plays a huge role in our lives.

Imagine a first class graduate producing face mask bead.
You see some of the people riding okada ,and doing Uber business are graduate, they have their degree but not job, some that have the idea to start up something can't because there is no money to start.

In Nigeria it is all about luck, your educational qualification is just there to boost you.
That's why I always tell my friends, don't depend on your degree,if the opportunity comes ,you use it if not focus on other things.

My own degree isn’t what I’m using to make a living. Just ensure you have some skill sets that are needed by people. What I do now, I started with zero naira, cos it’s service I render. I’m looking forward to investing in the agriculture sector too though, but I am taking my time and gathering funds and knowledge.

All in all, don’t rely on ur degree only to make a living. Learn other things.

OP, the question should be " What are using your certificate to do in this present time ? " I studied this , I studied that, yet you can not use your university or polytechnic certificate annual salary to buy a tear rubber car like footballers. Many persons cannot even buy a land or build a house with their certificates.
Please before you quote me, ask yourself " can I use my two months salary with what my certificate is giving me to buy a land after removing all expenses?" That will tell you how valuable your certificate is
