I shook my head when someone commented that only people who didn't graduate with good grades have mindset that certificate has nothing to put to table. I'll also graduate with something very close to your CGPA later this year in Agric. Engrng, my love was with computers from day one I was given the admission, had to continue doing it anyways, age is not with me. And starting from my 200level days, I started learning computer programming, didn't let that impede my flow in school, at 4.18 now. My plan after school is to pursue that ICT path full fledged. If job comes my way with my certificate, bravo, I will just use the money I get there to step up my programming game, I'll possible take a Msc course relating to ICT, outside of course, then if other things possible come to mind, like having businesses that pay most of my bills, so I move...

My cousin brother graduated as an Architect from covenant university but after a year of work, he quit to work from home as a freelancer meanwhile his sister finished from Igbenedion university in benin and she dropped the certificate also to pursue business. I know of a guy working with HND cert and earns 2.5M monthly. Without his certificate it would have been impossible to qualify for such a job. If you have a certificate, can effectively defend your profession as a seasoned graduate, You will always achieve great goals with your certificate.
Most education is a scam people were guys that can't defend their certificates. They passed through the institution but institution never passed through them. The who pass na him know book people.

Personally I feel Degree gives u ego, learning a "Hand job" is good but I'll advice anybody and everybody to get a degree even though it's useless to them.
There is this pride that comes with a degree, If someone has a handwork which pays him or her very well, the person can still get a degree later in life, u can even go to school at age of 60. To me going to uni is never a waste of time but putting all hope in that degree is a waste of sense and brain

One can even do a part-time schooling and still be working or doing a business irrespective of their age..

it's been 6yrs after graduation, mine is laying on my fridge, l have never had any reason to use it, after a few applications after graduation l gave on up on job searching. my professional experience in my field of study has kept food on my table by the Grace of God.

I'm not saying you're wrong ooo, in actual fact, you're very correct. But in a Nigerian environment, after the degree, what next?
Haven't you see 1st class graduates riding okada all over Lagos?
In fact, there's hardly any young Nigerian you meet in Lagos without any form of tertiary education but wetin happen, STREET CAME TO THE RESCUE. I don't earn my living from the street as I work in a formal environment but I tell you, many of those street guys make far more than majority of the suits and ties you see at various bus-stops across the state.
My advice, get the degree but don't ever become too satisfied with whatever it gives you, las Las, na street still dey help boys.
Hmmm, I remember my 1st salary as a graduate, a paltry sum of #20,000. Don't be surprised, many graduates are still earning that and many more will kill to have that as a salary

" I studied this , I studied that, yet you can not use your university or polytechnic certificate annual salary to buy a tear rubber car like footballers.Many persons cannot even buy a land or build a house with their certificates.
Please before you quote me, ask yourself " can I use my two months salary with what my certificate is giving me to buy a land after removing all expenses?" That will tell you how valuable your certificate is

It is all about perception dude.

My bachelor-education is of course very useful. It literally fetches me millions (note the plural) every single month. And because of it I have been to several parts of this world than I can begin to count now.

That said... You would notice I used the word 'bachelor-education' and not degree. This is to delineate it from the certificate which is supposed to be a paper (or electronic) confirmation that you passed through a process that ought to have imparted you with:

1) a training in discipline,
2) a competence,
3) a mental orientation,
4) a set of experiences, and
5) a set of social connections.

It is the sum total of these five (and more) that is called education. The paper (the certificate) itself is useless. It is the level to which you achieve those five qualities that confer value on the paper. In other words, the paper doesn't confer any value on you, you confer value on that piece of paper.

People that are saying 'hand-work' is better than education are naive set of human beings. It doesn't matter whether you are involved in a handiwork, or business, they all involve those five components. And your success ultimately depends on how well you are able to build these qualities. Whether formal education, handiwork, or business, the world is littered with examples of men that have made it big as well as those that are worse than rags.

So, you have all the chances in the world to build yourself into a man that imparts value to your certificate. And never expect that piece of paper to confer any value on you.

its not a lie, I had passion for medicine, I really do.
But at this moment, I have passion for money lol.
As a consultant in d medical field, they pay u 700-800k monthly, same with professor, but see ehn, business fit pay u 5mila, 10mila, 100mila if u want to ball high etc in a month.

I may not be saying this if I got my dream course because that course may not open my eyes and I'll still wallow in my stupidity.

People have passion for money o, no worry when u leave school, u go understand say money comes before profession.
