How many scientists and lab technicians did you train in molecular testing? SMH

Ghana carried out 68,591 tests. Maybe you think the excuses you are trying to make are relevant. They are not because our neighbour has showed more seriousness than us.

You see why illiteracy and a society full of semi illiterates is an impending timebomb? I vividly remember how everyone in Surulere/Yaba axis were downplaying this virus and saying Na joke. How dumb conspiracy theorists wanted to make everyone in Nigeria see corona as a scam and not face the reality.... But now, we are all in this mess together no thanks to those idiots. Anyways, the revolution majority refused to join us saying Na scam, I am sure after this corona, everyone will indeed see the need for a revolution in every facet of our lives and society.

I am still yet to get why the FG have not yet put together a Covid-19 coalition with the private sector and academic institutions.

I find it hard to believe that we can not develop rapid test kits for Covid-19 here in Nigeria if we channel resources, intellectuals and manpower towards it.

The sluggishness in this response is frightening. We need local solutions from testing, treatment and provision of PPEs.

This government are just deceiving themselves with lockdown. Which lockdown? It's FAKE! All the abokis in my areas that travelled to their hometown kano to farm like 2 months plus ago, just came back this past weekend all the way from Kano, where did they pass, how manage they take enter, did they use magic to fly or what? All the thieves roaming around Lagos in largge numbers of 10, 20, 30s , 50s robbing people with weapons, where did they pass, and the government says there is lockdown? Which type of lockdown is that? The government is only deceiving themselves, not me

Point is that we are ramping up from a very low (in fact, non-existent) base, and that’s a GOOD thing...

Lagos Mainland = All of Lagos State MINUS all the Island Areas (Lagos Island, Obalende, VI, Ikoyi, Lekki, Epe)

Lagos Mainland LGA = All the way from Adekunle LCH estate area, that place before you climb to link 3rd mainland bridge, all through Redeem HQ side to Oyingbo, to Apapa road to Costain to the West, then Mainland Hotel to Iddo to the South, then Willoughby, Glover, Herbert Macaulay to the East all the way to Makoko, Alagomeji, Sabo, Agnes, all the inner areas to the outward parts at Muritala Muhammed Way, even Railway Compund sef join am

By the way, all of you on the Lagos mainland needs to RESPECT Lagos Mainland LGA. Dem no be any other LGA papa mate. LAGOS MAINLAND LGA is the COOLEST LGA in Lagos Mainland, without Lagos Mainland LGA nobody can link any part of Lagos Island without jumping inside water......... argue with your keyboard grin

Continue talking past when presently, our actions are still too slow. Have the NCDC thought about doing sample tests in other States to check if there is a growing spread when it is proven that lots of spread come from asymptomatic carriers?

They want to wait for symptoms and you want me to clap for their mediocrity.

Wrong headline. There is a difference between Mainland and Mainland LGA.

Most affected local government area is Lagos Mainland LGA. That's places like Ebute Meta, Yaba, etc. If you're in this axis, better lock yourself indoor 24/7.

It is finished. The effect of more testing kits. The more the testing, the more the figure. I think the current number of people with covid 19 in Lagos currently would be more than 1 million.

And the states with little or no recorded cases are not doing efficient testing.
but people are not dying.let's pray this corona thing ends

Stuck on Strawman Arguments...

Point was/is (and will continue to be) that Nigeria has ramped-up testing...
It has gone from 0 labs at end-February to 12 labs in mid-April and counting.

It has gone from inability to test for Covid domestically to quadrupled capacity...
It is currently testing more samples daily than it previously did weekly a few weeks ago.

Doing BETTER is ALWAYS a good thing...
Perfection should never be the enemy of the good.

And dt area is very high density cos they were the main dwelling places for lagos workers in the old days. With a lot of houses from the 30's, 50's.

IDH has been there a long time, I know. Let me tell you me I be original Lagos boy, I breathe and live Lagos, the map of Lagos is in my blood. IDH from time was never a LEVEL 3 facility, they upgraded it to Level 3 during Ambode time. Instead of upgrading it to Level 3 at that place, they should have relocated it and moved it to a remote location and continue from there. How can you put a level 3 infectious disease facility in an urban area? That's madness! Is it not human beings working there? Imagine one staff makes a mistakes and a highly infectious virus gets out, how do you contain it quickly when the IDH is right in the middle of an urban population? Is that not what just happened in China with the Coronavirus and today it has reached 210 countries with million infected and hundreds of billions spent but yet the virus is yet to be contained. Do you think they call it a INFECTIOUS DISEASE Facility for nothing? It means the pathogens and microscopic organisms they are handing there are highly dangerous and capable to spread quickly if they leak or get out. Imagine one nurse not decontaminating herself 100% properly before coming out to mingle in an urban public space, even if 99% decontamination was done that 1% error left can have grave consequences for the society. That facility has no business being in that location anymore.

Your indignation is laudable however it is not factual. The UCL infectious diseases centre in London is located in Gower street, bang in the middle of a very busy area of london frequented by tourists and university students. I know because I went to university there. Even if an infectious disease centre is located in sambisa, people still have to get there. No infectious disease centre can control what happens outside its gate, what they can control are the processes that minimize infection including pickup, testing admission processing, treatment, visitation ( almost zero) convalescence and discharge and post discharge care.

This drum you are beaten is broken but you will bang it anyway. Goodluck. Enjoy.
