If you had borrowed 1B from World Bank - you'd have a point. You borrowed from IMF. That screams we are bankrupt. The rest are details. Tullow oil will not exist next year. Many oil companies are filling bankruptcy. Nigeria as the country is also filling theirs.
there hasn't been any borrowing yet because we have not run out of funds

all our 3 billion dollars is 5 billion dollars is still in tact and we are spending big because we can afford to

grin grin

the fact that your government cannot pay it creditors is true BANKRUPTCY

The thing with Tullow in Ghana is, the largest part of their fields in Ghana is gas.

Tullow oil will exist even for the next 20 years
Just pay them their money else they will take your government to court in London

Satellite data say that no cargo flight has taken off from Nairobi in 2 months

rvp20182:
Just because you are in copy-paste lockdown don't think everyone is that dumb.

Here is one anecdotal evidence that our vegetables, flowers and etc are getting flow out.

Cargo planes are still on business....and so are cargo trucks. Airlines are converting the passenger planes to ferry cargo - coz people still need to buy Kenyan vegetables...but have no use of Nigerian oil.

Airlines are fighting to land in Nairobi and offload horticultural products.

“Like all other airlines flying to Kenya, Ethiopian Airlines has a landing permit to load cargo both on passenger and cargo planes. Currently, there are many airlines which are loading cargo on passenger planes out of Kenya,” the airline's management notes.

Dream on.

Captain Cathleen Kang’ethe said she was delighted to fly the fresh produce to London.

“I have been with Kenya Airways for 19 years I joined in 2001. The crisis, unfortunately, has brought everything pretty much to a standstill, but we are able to continue with cargo business. I’m happy to be flying the Dreamliner to London carrying agricultural produce and flowers, let’s keep hope alive,” she said.

Ghana asked if IMF 1 trillion dollars will be available to Ghana also

Kenya is facing a debt crisis but government officials don’t seem to know what to do about it. The obvious route is to borrow some more to pay old debts and finance the budget.

An admission by the National Treasury that the government is broke and may be unable to finance this year’s Sh3.02 trillion budget if Senate rejects an increase in the debt ceiling to Sh9 trillion exposed the sad truth.

Experts have raised the red flag that the country cannot take up more debt but from acting National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani’s admission, we could be too deep in the hole that more debt is what will save us.

Again projection. Locust had little if any effect. They came in January - a non-planting season. We got record rains last year - and the rains haven't stopped. Locust affected I think 5 out 47 counties. Zero economic effect.

Kenya we are doing fine. Nigeria you're basically down and out.

At least Ghana still have cocoa, gold and aluminium.

What do you gain from lying? The locust invasion is affecting at least 17 out of your 47 counties and spreading. Your economic growth was revised down because of the locusts and last year's drought.

Right now the rains are your greatest undoing in the fight against the locusts. They are laying eggs and by June July your agriculture will be totally fvcked. grin

Nigeria on the other hand has steady growth in the agriculture sector. tongue

India is your trading "PARTNER"?? Must be a joke, Tell me Apart from that Crude, what else you can offer to them? Cassava?? Partnership happens among equal ones (Comparing with India or China etc will not place you among them) .
As a matter of fact Nigeria is the senior partner in the Nigeria India bilateral trade by at least four times.

And we already envisage India not buying our oil in the near future so we are focusing on gas exports to India and other countries. Nigeria can be more of a gas exporter than an oil exporter in future.

India however is the largest exporter to Kenya. grin

Sorry to barge in, in terms of gas Russia has plenty of it, and India being largest gas consumer.

India already buying Russian gas, a pipeline from Russia may be hard for nigeria to sell it to India, due to distance, logistics cost involved in shipping

Let even get deeper into this. Nigeria's oil is classified as Bonny Light Crude (it's premium with low sulfur) - but as of yesterday, it was down to 11 dollars without any buyers.

Nigeria is the new Venezuela.

So you just validated the same, You have nothing to offer except Crude. Remove crude from that equation (which is happening anyway) and you are done. India US Trade is even in favor of India so dont bring Kenya to save your argument. Remove oil and Nigeria will be in worse situation. Both Nigeria and Kenya need Machines, High Voltage switch-gears, electric Turbines, Aircraft parts, Critical pharmaceuticals. Refined Petroleum, Chemicals, Automobiles etc. And no you can not easily export gas to India, Adani port India has LNG Gas contract for buying from Qatar and Good luck to compete with Qatari infrastructure, Rates, transit Insurance and most of all Distance of Qatar to Indian Ocean and Qatar`s relations with India. Indian ocean is the waterway of trade and you know where Kenya is situated?

Nigeria’s benchmark Bonnie Light crude hasn’t hit zero yet. But with millions of barrels sitting unsold, Nigeria may start paying customers to take delivery due to its lack of onshore storage facilities. According to some sources, Nigeria is losing an average of $35 million a day in accruable revenue
