Why is this house so calm?pls can we just say hello! Any up date? Me i am waiting to do my medical and biometrics so i can apply for my student visa.how about others whats up for those resuming in july
Just to mention that you do not have to do your medicals and biometrics before you submit you visa application online. The biometrics can only be done after submission of visa application whilst medicals can be done after submission. I think the timeline for treatment of your application starts to count from date of online submission of the application and your biometrics as well as medicals may not even reflect on your portal until the application has been fully treated.

Okay . . . that's where your agent got it wrong. They should have advised you better from the onset (about your brother inlaw) and shouldn't have gone ahead to submit that brother inlaw SOA.

However, lets give them the benefit of doubt that they knew better later on, you have COE, what remains is visa application.

You're quite right that the DIPB does not request for SOA from most applicants to AL1 schools. But that is situational and not entirely a certainty. I have also seen someone who they asked for SOA as additional doc. It varies.

But the issue here is not even if DIPB will ask for your sponsor's SOA. Part of the documents your agent will need to push your visa application are your sponsorship documents. These include sponsor's letters, SOA if necessary, documents showing your relationship to the sponsor, documents showing that your sponsor has capacity to keep generating that tuition and living expenses money all year round (this is where things like his employment letter, salary pay slips e.t.c will be presented if he's an employee, or company documents if he's a business owner).

Now, when all these sponsorship documents are available, your agent will upload them all on your DIPB Immi account.

But your agent has just realised that your brother inlaw as a sponsor is not considered acceptable by DIPB, which means there's every likelihood that the visa will be denied . . . That is what your agent is avoiding by not applying yet.

So yeah, you have COE, DIPB will say you've scaled all the hurdles to get admitted, now you've got to scale the hurdle of getting a visa and as this thread has advised severally, it is best that your sponsor is your direct relative (mother, father, brother, sister, or spouse). Even uncles sef don dey get K-leg.

So, i think you should take your agent's advice. Look for someone else as stated above to sponsor you and you should be fine.

All the best Peter

For those knowledgeable in this sponsorship and SOA thing, please i nee your explanation on this.

I am my spouse's sponsor and I am travelling with her. I intend to work and support her while she concentrate on her studies. Will anything affect this arrangement. We will be able to show proof of fund of N15m plus IBTC pension savings of N6m. Though the pension is not accessible now?

Hello everyone,

I just joined this great forum. I can say that you guys are doing a great job passing awesome information.
Keep it up.

Please I have a question that is currently bothering me. Someone should please clear me before I make a mistake.

I just got my admission letter from UTAS for academic session starting July 2020.

I want to defer it to next session starting February 2021 for the following reasons:

A) short notice.

B) covid 19 and lockdown issues.

My agent is suggesting I pay the commitment fees to obtain my COE before I can defer the admission.

I am confused here because, I know VISA period is based on the date on the COE.

Cant the admission be deferred without paying any fees? I want to get a new admission letter stating february 2021 before I can pay commitment fees.

Please advice on the ways out of this.

-Defer to 2021

-Get New admission letter

-Pay your deposit and OSHC

-Get your COE

Your agent is only trying to hook you in to secure his cut from the school. You dont have to pay any commitment fee to defer your admission. If in doubt, contact the school directly.

Can someone pls explain the 5.0 in 7.0 grade point to me pls. @babajigga @AyaE

If your school GP is (5).
Do 5÷7×(5).
So you are expected to have at least 3.57 in 5 GP.

I guess you are referring to the equivalent of Nigerian GPA to Australian 5.0 GPA. There are two methods;

1. Your GPA ÷ 5 X (7)

2. Your GPA X 1.4

Cheers!

Hello Guys, my grant just came in today!!!!
Thanks to everyone who has contributed on this thread one way or the other on this thread. It has helped immensely.
My time line:
Submitted application-31st July 2019
Conditional offer- 15th July 2019
CoE- 24th November 2019
Biometrics- 27th December 2019
Submitted Visa Application- 25th January 2020
IELTS Score- 7.0 (I had a minimum band score of 7.0 so my average was 7.0). I got a waiver from the school so I didn't need IELTS for school admission. My agent advised I write one for visa so I did.
School- Flinders University
Sponsor's account: My maternal uncle. Submitted 2 bank statements. One had 18m and the other was a fixed deposit account that matures every 30days. It had 13m.
Course- Social work (masters)
BSc- Microbiology

Submitted my credentials, letter from sponsor, proof of relationship to sponsor (uncle & Mum's NPC) and sponsor's account statement. I didn't submit payslips or my account statement sha.
Challenges faced: I already had an MSc in Microbiology so applying for a second masters was what I had to prove. Plus, with Social Work being a high risk course I had to write a convincing SOP. (I can share that with anyone interested cos mehn this took me like a month to write). My work experience was also a bonus cos I work as a care assistant.
Sometime in December the bank statement I used for the school admission could no longer be used cos he had to move the funds to another bank for investment reasons. He had to submit another letter to this effect. He also had to back it up with the fixed deposit account.
School resumes on Monday so if anyone could help with flight and accommodation links, I'd be most grateful.

Thank God!!!!!!!

Omg you mean IELTS is the only English test required when applying for the visa? Can PTE go

I hurriedly wrote Ielts last year in 3weeks without much preparation i got broadband 5.5

Recently got admission for 2 year Graduate entry nursing program with my previous degree in Pharmacology English was waived.

Though on the admission letter they indicated before I could start up praticing as a Nurse I would need the English Test exam which is 2years after.

Will my previous Ielts with 5.5broadband go for visa? i have been practicing and studying all these while for PTE test till I got the admission letter.

But having heard 2years after the program will sti be needing English test, Can i apply for visa with the 5.5 Test result?
what's your advise people went through this kindly advise.

Since your school waived it then you can't say for sure what score they would need.
Sure you'll write another IELTS for professional accreditation but your main concern should be actually getting a visa.
I only just took the ielts to boost my chances of a visa.
My advise is, it won't hurt to get a higher score. If you can afford the exam again then take it. About PTE, I believe its accepted too. Just get a score that will boost your chances. You can check the immigration site for a list of acceptable english exams.
P.S write a convincing sop for why you are choosing not to further in pharmacology. It's the same field but still write something convincing.

What uni btw?

Hello Kess, please I tried to pm you, kindly accept . I plan to apply for bachelor of nursing (graduate entry) and I need help with SOP.
Which of the schools did you eventually choose? USC seems cheaper than that of Sydney.
I have some questions to though. Can you reach me through ursulakachiogwu@gmail.com or accept or reply my pm. Thank you

Hello am yet to choose which to go even thinking of going for a later date due to the Covid crises everywhr also yet to work on the SOP,i guess that wouldn't be hectic with some formats here online.
