Newbies, never let no one tell you stories of buying after he saw how market closed.
I spoke about 'U Are Carrying Nightmare' here when there were offers on the floor at 18.7% discount all the way from N7.5.
Personally, I must not own every business that is listed on NSE, or claim to enter every moving plane, even WIKE waited for CAVERTON to finish its acrobatic displays in the air before letting them know that it is not by air alone, but by every word that proceed from his mouth when you land (VCV, sorry ooo) . Till date Caverton never get liver to even release results, I think Wike must have torn the copy meant for Oscar..... cheesy cheesy cheesy grin

UACN is a good stock, enough said about the stock.

Some of us have issues with repetition

Progress please

A day before markdown is the last qualification date.
No. You wouldn't get if you sell on that day.

Good. I'm still waiting to confirm this. My initial impression was that I won't get the dividend.

Meanwhile, the foregoing discourse points to a conclusion that the markdown date is the single most important date in terms of dividend qualification. Yea? So anyone who buys a day before the markdown is DEFINITELY getting the dividend and anyone who buys after, won't.

Afriprud is the registrar to UBA.
Their own may be you get dividend if you buy on the qualifying day and you dont get if you sell on the qualifying date.

I will make a time to consult other registrars like Afriprud, first registrar etc on this dividend issue for more directions

In other words, selling a day before the mark down would ensure the seller gets the dividend?

That's exactly what I did with UBA. I thought I won't be getting the dividend. I'm waiting.

yes/No,depends on the registrar's way of taking records.
With cardinal stone,I'm sure you will.

No, he is not the same person. Ambrose is the one at Investdata.

Ambrose is good at what he does. His core seems to be his ability to forecast earnings for stocks. He does this quite well.

Some folks will sell to us(and we will gladly buy from them)
...then they'll later come back to buy from us.
And we shall sell to them @ a great premium.

If u are lucky to buy into the "trade fair" today, well, lucky u.

HOLD !!

It is well.

Bro, You have been on this UACN thing for close to 2 or 3 years now, since the era of Skying up the Caverton, when its price was in the N17/N18 range. How long should people hold out on optimism cos since then the price has not reached that level again. It dropped to sub N5 before rising to about N10 and then dropping again.

Just this week you said you were going to rest the matter on UACN and here we go again.....

A total debit of about N1.4 trillion was passed to the banks this week as special CRR. Nobody remembers to factor in cost of regulation in the different valuation models for banks.

I don't think it has anything to do with either the government is broke or not.
There is excess liquidity in the system which is not being channeled to productive use.
Our banks are used to making easy money with t-bills and government bond.

Is CBN doing the right thing? I sincerely dont know as that is really debatable.

You are correct... Its 1.4trillion that cbn debited...

The 600billion article is from a precious similar action last year. My interest in posting that was just that the banks aren't losing the money debited....
