How did the dentist conclude that the tooth is impacted? Did he take an xray of your mouth?

I had same condition and i had it removed. The pains was too unbearable, i went to general hospital to remove it after a quack dentist in one of the private dental hospitals nearly kill me by cutting my gum.

I will advice you visit a general hospital. I had mine extracted at Randle Hospital Surulere, best decisions so far.

An impacted tooth is impacted because something is BLOCKING it from erupting..

Secondarily,once you pass the age for your tooth to come out,they are not coming out again..

The ONLY option is to have the teeth removed..

For someone who has had 3 surgeries, I will tell you to go have it removed immediately, because when it gets too serious it would cost you ,more or even lead to more complications. I had similar issue few years back went to UPTH and they gave me price I said it was too much until it got very serious, from N10,000, I ended up paying N40,000 for the first surgery.

But please make sure the dentist knows what he is doing o. All the best

I had a molar toothache once and someone advised I used potash with warm water and it worked like magic after I applied the potash water to it for a week

Put the potash water in the affected tooth area in the mouth leave for a minute and pour out
Repeat procedure until water is exhausted

Do this for a week morning afternoon and evening All pain will die off
I am a living witness

my sister removed hers too........ you might have no choice than to remove it

As a Dentist,I will advise you to have the teeth removed..
There's no two ways about it,the longer they stay there the more likely they will cause complications..

They can lead to damage and need to remove the normal teeth(2nd Molars) in front of them,by attrition or wear of their surfaces..

They can lead to life threatening complications known as Ludwig's Angina..

Have them removed,the earlier the better..

The bolded is from the OP's post. Since the molars are starting to show up, means the blockage might not be total. He might not need surgery afterall. all he needs to do is wait to see if the it completely grows(provided he can find a way to lessen the pain) otherwise, he has no other option than to go for surgery

When the pain comes, you will be begging the doctor to extract it for N100k . The only permanent solution is extraction. Everything else is you wasting money till the extraction. You might as well cut to the chase.

Why not compare prices with other dentists?

Very terrible pain when one has it. If your dentist has charged 30k kindly pay and get them off. Other dentists may charge close to that or more. Some dentists too are not too professional.

Just dental implants can cost you over 150k for each tooth.

I do not see escapes routes with dental problems when they have to do with extractions. Some people suggest herbal portions but honestly in the end they fail. You return below square one.

I'd advice you go for the extraction as soon as possible and please go to a teaching hospital where you can have a Senior Registrar/Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon perform the procedure.

Your Dental Surgeon has an idea but might not be able to perform the procedure because there are usually nerves associated with impacted third molars like the lingual and inferior alveolar nerves. So you need someone who knows what they are doing.

Ignore those asking you to use touch and go and the likes.

I only have pain in mine when The place isn’t clean. I wash my teeth once daily and I don’t have issues. I sometimes have pain when I miss brushing for maybe a day due to any reason. I’m 28 and I ran away from extraction at 22. I think keeping it clean will suffice

It seems have same problem with op but mine is that the last molar grew outward half way but its horizontally. I have surgically removed the right molar in federal dental clinic at marina before I went for services few years ago, but the one on left, is there and it's causing gum hole in between the infected molar and the second molar... I know I need to remove it but am scared...

Go to a govt owned hospital, part of the options available for you are extraction and pericoronal flap, the pericoronal flap is not a regular procedure

It might be a risky procedure and necessary medical precautions are required......

NB : Weigh the constant pain vs 30K....... Severe toothache can make you pull your hair out......

just found their way out!!!! 15 of them I could count. Jesus can u imagine. After the worms were out I have felt no pain again and I only spent 3k for it

It seems have same problem with op but mine is that the last molar grew outward half way but its horizontally. I have surgically removed the right molar in federal dental clinic at marina before I went for services few years ago, but the one on left, is there and it's causing gum hole in between the infected molar and the second molar... I know I need to remove it but am scared...

That is one of the commonest complications of an impacted tooth..
Because they are having an abnormal relationship with the teeth in front of them,they tend to lead to damage to the teeth..
I will advise for the sake of the 2nd molar,have it removed or you might have to remove the two teeth at the end of the day..
