Hi guys... i still need a response to this oh... anyone?

vsylva:
Hi Guys... @Frankrobbn1 @justwise so im thinking of applying to Humber College Web Design and Development program

Credential: Certificate of Achievement
Program Length: 2 semesters

I already gained Admission to Georgian College for a 2yrs diploma in Interactive Media Design - Web +Co-op last year which i differed to this year sept 2020. But being that im self sponsoring i want to play it safer with a one year program because of proof of funds gathering. My challenge is does it matter the credential one gets .. Humber is Certificate of Achievement while Georgian is Ontario College Diploma.

What is really driving this thought is with Georgian Estimated Tuition for the 1st year is = 17,070.07 and its a 2 yrs program so for proof of funds i would be looking at Tuition 17,070.07 + 1 yr Living 10,000 + 2000 = $29070.07... => N8,015,820 ,, if i am going to put together proof of funds i also have to add the tuition for the 2nd yr to answer the question of me covering my cost of tuition without needing to work in canada.. thats an extra N4,706,930 summing it up to N12,722,750.... i am a married man with 3 kids.. im not going with my family so i will need to more money to show that i still have money left behind for the family... so we are looking at 15Million at least... all this for Georgian College...

With Humber College Program

Credential: Certificate of Achievement
Program Length: 2 semesters

The 2020-2021 fee for two semesters is: $9,704.38 = N2,675,900

Additional Costs
Approximately $50 to $500 – web hosting services and recommended textbooks. $500 = N137,871

Living expense 1yr: $10000 = N2,757,410

Misc: $2000 = N551,483

POF needed = N6,122,664+

Adding what i will leave aside for the family lets just say 8M..... Humber is making alot more sense... but my question is... Certificate of Achievement vs Diploma

What would you advice.... anyone...

Very timely post. I spent the night working on my statement and i will like to send you the draft to help me review... please please please. my email address is libran.gypsy@hotmail.com , please say hello to me on that address. Thanks alot.

So, I thought I would leave some hints about how to write a statement of interest. I think it is better if you break your essay down into sessions so the visa officer can find it easy and interesting to read. You may use the example below.

lastly, make sure you use good grammar. Like you are writing an academic paper. It's annoying to have to read a letter that is written poorly. I will be happy if I read a sentence once and understand what you're saying. If I have to read most of your sentences two-three times, to understand, I will be pissed and lose interest. I hope this is helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask

Was it approval after BVL?or no update then medical request and approval.

Even this year someone still updated very recently. He got a BVL and was already consoling himself expecting the denial only for a medical letter to drop. All I am saying is don’t give up. Even if it’s a rejection you just restrategize and refire. There was a time on this thread they used to refer to a rejection as a “delay” because they were certain they were going to reapply and get their visa. And most eventually do. Immigration journey is one of determination.

Tough one. Do you have a business? If the business is doing well you can put in the incorporation document. If your job is a good one a leave of absence from your office specifying that you will come back to the company is also good. If you can get any attestations from your village or community that they need you to come back you for whatever (just thinking aloud here). If there are family property or even village property that you can document that you are the caretaker etc. I am sure you get the general idea.

I guess your question is about sponsorship.

As far as I know, you can use anyone for sponsor. All you need to do is to explain your relationship with the person and provide a document to support it such as birth certificates. Usually, the longer and closer the relationship the better. Maybe your uncle and aunt.

Now, if your potential sponsor is not related to you in any way, you might need to be creative and smart. First, you need to gather information about that sponsor. Has the person lived or applied to Canada before, do they have children or relatives in Canada. If yes, you will have to state that you know someone in Canada (It won't hurt). If you have a good relationship with these people, you can even get the child in Canada to swear an affidavit on your behalf that you are seeking a study permit for the purpose of study and you will return upon completion. You can also mention this person in your SOP, stating they have told you lot's about studying in Canada.

Anyways, Nigerians have lots of uncles and aunties. I've heard people say their aunty from their mother's side. Maybe the same mother with your mom but different fathers. So, no way that person would share the same last name with your mom. In this case, a simple affidavit with a passport photo of both of you could cover that base. If you plan to pay tuition, let the money come out from that sponsor's account. Go to the bank with the potential sponsor to collect a reference letter from the branch manager. If the branch manager knows the sponsor, it's even better. If not, it's okay. I will expect the bank to have a copy of that letter on file too. Trust me, they are more likely to call the bank if the sponsor is a relative.
I know people used to include a family tree, I'm not sure if he still dey catch tho.

Also, make sure the person's account carry wella. It is unlikely that a relative would want to go broke to sponsor your education.

Lastly, do not use a company account if your sponsor is not your father or mother. It is irrational for some uncle to be willing to spend millions from their business money on one relative's education. It doesn't make any sense.

Now, if your question is about home tie, include your sibling's birth certificates, landed property, prove of leave from your employer, bank statement, rental agreement, car.

@vysylva,
I always try to put myself in the position of a VO. The question I would be asking if I were the VO is why would someone spend so much money going to study so as to get a Certificate of Attendance. Doesn’t make much sense. I would have suggested you try and gather some more money for your POF. Or if your wife has a job you may explain that she can take care of the homefront while you are away. Or if you can present a business incorporated that she will be running to take care of herself while you are gone. I don’t know whether these will work o because I am not an expert, just trying to think of what I would do in your shoes.

Besides with the certificate program are you sure it’s up to 1 year? If it’s not up to 1 year you may not get PGWP.
Another advantage the diploma program has is the co-op. That’s very valuable working experience that will eventually help you when it comes time to apply for residence.

It may be better you pause, save a bit more, get a new admission and apply when your POF is solid. Just a suggestion sha.

Can 15m be enough as proof of funds for a master (MBA) mc master university in Canada?

It should definitely be enough. It also depends who is sponsoring you, your age and gap in your education or job status.

It is very ok with the personal letterheaded. You can easily tag it as Sponsorship Letter. But to have greater chances, i wouldnt mind to suggest to you to inform your dad to order his secretary to write another introductory letter specifying your dad as the CEO and years of operations. Then he should also tell the bank to issue him a letter that he is the only signatory to his account and he will be sponsoring his education abroad. Canada Embassy is a complex processing ......

Like I said before no business like that. The only little business, which is not even documented and it’s s not even related to the course (Nursing) I’m going for .
Same thing as my job, sales representative, and it’s not related to the course I’m going for.

What was your major before now, educational status, job status and to say you are sponsoring yourself is like shooting yourself in the leg. How would your wife survive after you leave. Why not create a story that it is your wife brother that is sponsoring you. This psychologically means chances of coming back is higher than saying you are the one sponsoring yourself. I wish you all the best. Have you filled the Student Questionsaire?

Good day all, hope you're staying safe? I pray the blessing of this month touches every corners of the world and make it safe again. Amin.

I have 3 questions and will be glad if they could answered.

1. For a 2yrs program, am I declaring the whole tuition fee on the IMM1294 form or just the first year tuition?

2. If it's the whole tuition I am declaring, does it means the customary $CAD10,000+ towards living expenses becomes $CAD20k+ also?

3. Lastly, on the sponsor letter, what would be declared by the sponsor: Whatever he has in all accounts (in case it's 2 SOA from different banks) or whatever he wants to commit to sponsoring you?

Thanks for your prompt replies..
