Nigerians should consider planning holidaying and vacationing activities in other countries other than the USA! This pandemic is clearly changing the world landscape in very significant, historic ways. It's going to take, what, 2-3 years before everything relaxes to normal.

Boeing, Jetblue, and other major international airlines are shedding jobs badly. I call it economic hemorrhage. Cash affects every facet of life. Air fare will spike up in outlandish level that ordinary folks like you and I won't be able to afford to visit Canada and be back in a fortnight. Companies and their employees will consider 'travel significance' and its impact on their business objectives. VOs will cut back on visa issuance and would obviously not consider B2 something consequential. At least for the time being.

People should explore other vacation spots biko
Enjoy.

Sure! We are here to learn and not to accept your baseless opinions. What’s your concern if somebody pays 75k for a 30sec interview? If i pay 1million for flight tickets is it your money? The world will bounce back sooner than you think and none of these your speculations will hold true. Stop spreading Panic

All we saying is things are gonna be tight at every institution. At least for the time being. Things don't bounce back to normal like a flash in the pan. It takes time. I'm also a religious person. God is a God of order. Time! Time! Time! But by bit by bit...

In the interim, let's consider vacationing elsewhere pending the time things relax at the embassy. We'll have a straight visa.

I have to be honest with you, Flight would be cheaper because people are scared to travel by plane, one way or the other U.S work force has reduce a bit, U.S would open up first before every other country follow suit, with low oil price I believe everything would work out just fine before the November.

Cheap Flight OK. What of application for a US VISA? Won't the posture and the dynamics change?

It was in February-early March, I was due to travel to a University in DC for a symposium in May. Book a flight now. Book one now. Hold it down. The price will go higher blah blah blah. I looked at the dynamics myself at the time. I asked plenty of questions--endlessly.

I was not wrong. Considered many things in my own endI held down with flight booking. Boom... crisis came to the fore. Best decision ever. Used my money for the family. Went shopping. Stocked the house hahahah. Owo flight ma ti burn niyen.

U want to travel, no dey rush rush. Whether na application, interview, and flight things, be cool. Be very cool. Take your time. Seek for advice. But use ur smarts and listen to your instincts.

If you are destined to travel, u go travel. U will travel. No hurries. Peace out!

I am hedging my bets on this on a large scale.
Global reluctance to travel immediately after COVID-19 will keep flight tickets down.

Ur right. A large-scale bet, nice phrase. Costs would just shot down like oil prices lmao. Based on what? That people do not wanna fly or that planes would carry half full passengers.. And the cost will get so cheap even artksans6for Yaba would be able to afford it??

Let's kuku turn international flight into Lagos-Abuja flight. We should read more and evaluate more methodically.

People should be ready to make significant adjustments when it comes to visa applications, Flight bookings etc.. It gets worse before it gets better! Sorry to burst6ur bubble.

Please for the love of whatever God you serve, just stay off my mention.

If you feel compelled to respond to anything I post, and will not do so in a manner that isn't derogatory or condescending or filled with mockery, just post directly without a mention.
These antics of yours and others led to previous thread getting closed, and we are in Part 4 AGAIN.
You are entitled to your opinions as everyone is. I agree you are the custodian of KNOWLEDGE and OPINIONS and EXPERTISE, but allow me to wallow in my bubble and place of lack of reading and poor methodological evaluation.
My decision to leave Lagos to Abuja on a Tomoato Trailer is not yours.

What happened was unprecedented... You can't say Billions of people are wrong for planning ahead considering flight ticket around summer is always expensive. What happened was never envisage and almost all Airline in the world has a plan for their customer, no money is lost.

People must be encouraged to take their time in whatever pursuit they wish to pursue, most especially first time/low-level travelers!

Hi everyone, Has anyone applied for a Waiver of the Exchange Visitor Two-Year Home-Country Physical Presence (on a J-1 visa) through any of the Nigerian embassies in the US or knows someone that got the waiver? I need the waiver before applying for a change of status to F-1.

One big takeaway from this covid19 situation that everyone should pay heed to is travel insurance to include medical. I will personally never travel without it again. I travel a lot and only take out insurance when my family is with me, but never when I'm alone. Henceforth, I will always sign up. Does anyone know if this is a requirement for visitors to the U.S.? I may need to start insisting that anyone visiting with me needs to have medical insurance grin
