It's not about the chipset per se... It's the overall experience in the short-term and long term. If he goes with the s9+ the phone will most likely be problematic than utilitarian under a year or a little over a year. Whereas a new phone is highly probable to take him 3 years and counting. My bet is still on a new phone rather than an old used flagship.
Well our individual preferences differs. As for me I would pick s9+ over any phone made in 2020 with lesser spec. We've got people still buying some years old used note 4x, we've got people still holding to theirs tight and still enjoying fluid performance, we've got people still enjoying buttery smooth performing on note 5 Pro. So for s9+ it suddenly becomes a phone that wouldn't not perform overtime again even with the shrewd specs? If phone na beast na beast nothing fit change am. The truth is s9+ would still outperform note 9s in 2050.

I recently had to repair my smartphone and I hiccuped normal glue or something else, for glass and housing. So I want to share that on the site Best Glue for glass to metal https://gluefaq.com/best-glue-for-glass-to-metal/ found what I was looking for. My phone is now like new.

So i will now be buying 2yrs old phone for 100k as against, let's say, getting a brand new Redmi Note 9s? 2 good years
If the s9+ is in mint condition, as in very good condition it would outperform note 9s till thy kingdom come. I'm after quality and performance in a phone nothing consign me with trend and years wey d phone don comot

Is there a way to access battery capacity of used Samsung phones? From a friend's experience he always has issues with UK or US used Samsung phones because their batteries don't last and getting good replacements not easy.

I agree with you apart from battery problems of older flagship phones.

Good decision, most of those external hard drives are poorly constructed hatch jobs. If you ever have the need to open one (a cheap one), you will shed a tear or two. Stick to the 2.5" cases.

True.

Your Network is the culprit. My phone has been having abnormal drains with Glo fluctuations, I decided to keep the SIM a little and switched to Airtel and the battery is back to normal.

We mostly don't put our eyes on network but it is usually the biggest culprit when it comes to battery usage.

This battery is going to 2 years.
bro I observe that your battery is never in battery saver mode.....dose it really work??.....cause I turn mine on at 100%

Battery is the major problem of Samsung phones. I don't think there's any way to access the battery other than use the phone for a day so you can comfirm things for yourself

You will get poor battery backup. From my own experience battery drains more on battery saver mode. I mostly use battery saver from anything less 30% or early 40%

The phones you quoted lived long because the users bought them new not used. And it makes a whole lot of difference. The shelf life of the s9+ has significantly reduced because it has been used previously.
Cos I see that your points are solely based on the chipset chipset and chipset without considering other crucial factors that play an important part in the phone.
Just like you said preferences differ.
I hope the person we're arguing for .... Lol... Should be able to make an informed decision based on either sides of the deliberation so far.
Anyways I admire your intelligence. Nice one

It's an insult to compare any redmi note series to the s9+.
If you want a xaimoi device that's better than it then go for k20 pro or mi 9

The comparison is between a brand new midranger vs an S9+ that has been used for 2yrs. On a norms, why would anyone compare a midranger with a brand new S9+?

Sorry guys I need to ask u about something I am not really knowledgeable about...Is it advisable for me to get a UK used Samsung S9+ plus for 130k...it seems like value for money my only concern is that I heard (I have not done my research on it) that OLED screens have screen burns after about 2 years later or they are not Sha advisable to use for long...my point now is S9+ was released in 2018...whoever bought it and put up for sale did so in 2018 or probably 2019...I might be using the phone for anoda one or two years...Am I safe??

I understand you want a flagship uk used. Using uk used phone for a long time, ahem, i wont advise.

Problem associated with some samsung uk used that I have use

1. Bad speakers after some months
2. Poor battery
3. Screen bleeding
4. No water proof and dust proof
5. Software

If you can save more money, then buy a brand new flagship or an all rounder

OLED
Oleds can bleed out after heavy usage of screen on time. A life time of 36,000 - 100,000 hrs.

For a uk used, the oled built into it may be worn out or not even an oled.

The choice is yours. Hopefully you have a trusted seller.

I think there are apps that can show the current battery capacity. "Castro" comes to mind, though i can't verify its accuracy in dt dept. It says my mi9t now has 3600 mAh capacity sad
But... Meh! Ion care. Phone is Working well

In summary, s9 plus is a great phone but weigh all your options well. May the force be with you, like my oga once said smiley
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Mrlastborn(m): 6:21am On May 04, 2020
i think its very simple,
if you want a flagship experience, get a 2year old s9+

if you want a peace of mind, get a new phone, I'm sure there are other new phones that can serve you well within 100-130k.

it all goes down to what you wanna do with it (i know sum1 with s9, but she only use it 2 snap pictures) . so analyse ur needs in a phone over your want and choose wisely.

note: even a 6months old phone can have issues, depending on the previous user, also, a 2years old phone can be issue free too.

few weeks ago, a friend of mine got an iPhone 8 for 130k, and i said to myself, i can never buy a second hand fone for 130k, that's my individual opinion.... so decide for yourself...

I hope you aren't seriously comparing a flagship device with still powerful specs to this day like water resistance, SD 845 and so much more to a mid range phone that literally only has nothing better but IR blaster

I never knew Water Resistance is a powerful specification o. Don't allow IP Ratings fool you. IP Ratings don't make a phone immune from water damage.

And do you know that despite the IP Ratings, warranty don't cover water damage?

This kind of question is honestly beyond anyone here. Even most people at Xiaomi Nigeria don't know if it is coming.
